Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this lens work with the Nikon D3300? Didn't see it on the list.

A: Yes, the Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 Series II Lens for Nikon F would be compatible for use on the Nikon D3300 DSLR camera. Do note that the Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 Series II Lens for Nikon F is a fully manual lens, and as such, you would have to focus the lens manually and set your exposure manually using the aperture ring built onto the lens.

Q: 2. Filter size is 62 or 55 ? According to the front lens is 55 but specs is 62. I am confused

A: The AstrHori 10mm f/8 II Lens has 55mm size front filter threads.

Q: 3. Will this lens fit on a Fujifilm X-T2 or Fujifilm X-E4 camera?

A: Unfortunately it is not compatible with those cameras. For those cameras the lens needs to have Fuji X mount.

Q: 4. What is improved in the Type II version? To simply say that it is improved means nothing. What did they do to it?

A: I am fairly certain the first version of this lens had a stepped aperture only. The newer version allows you to set the aperture to de-clicked mode so f-stop is infinitely adjustable - useful for shooting video. I'm not 100% positive, but I think that's the only change.

Q: 5. How many degrees of turn does the focus ring have?

A: We believe it is around 270 degrees.

Q: 6. Does it come with the filter adapter?

A: Yes. The TTArtisan 10mm f/2.0 Lens (FUJIFILM X) comes with the 72mm filter holder. The included adapter allows 72mm filters to mount to the front of the lens.

Q: 7. Does Type II mean it is a new improved version of this lens?

A: Yes, the Type II is the most current, improved version of the Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f/0.95 lens.

Q: 8. Is this lens compatible with the new Blackmagic 4K Cinema Pocket Camera?

A: Yes this lens has a micro four thirds mount which is compatible with the Blackmagic 4K but be aware that this is a fully manual lens. (No auto focus or electronic aperture control)

Q: 9. Have anyone tried using these 0.95 lenses with 58-52 to step down rings? Is there vignetting?

A: This is 52mm filter thread lens , at 50mm focal length it should not vignette , or if you mean step up ring from 52 to 58mm there will not be a vignette

Q: 10. Will focus peaking work on the BMPCC 4K when paired with the Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f/0.95?

A: Yes, focus peaking will work.

[55 mm (Front)] I didn't buy this lens for its quality optics or its sexy looks, I bought it for a creative project I'm shooting in black-and-white square format. The 1:1 crop factor moots any minor issues with edge sharpness and vignetting. The pancake design makes it easy to carry around and unobtrusive in public places. Manual focus is required, but practically everything is in focus when set to infinity. I'm using it paired with my Fujifilm X-T5 and the results are stunning. The absurdity of putting a $90 lens on a $1,700 camera and making art is very satisfying, indeed!

[4.05 x 4 x 3.1"] Just got into the m43 ecosystem and this lens was a big factor for my 'compact system' choice. I love this focal length, and this one ticks all the boxes for me: fast, small, sharp, great build quality. Did I say sharp? Even at f2, I'm amazed how good this lens is even to the corners. I certainly got a good copy. The distortion is absolutely negligible. While vignetting wide open is heavy, it's very broad with no abrupt changes, so in real world images it's not objectionable. More like middle hot spot than dark edges. Its minimum focus distance is also very close.

There are several minor complaints but nothing that's a deal breaker. The hood can't be taken on or off with the lens cap on. Wish the mount alignment dot was on the side of the lens and not the flange so it's easier to see.

Overall, I'm very impressed.

[55 mm (Front)] Use this lens on M5.3. M10.2 as and M1.2 Works well. Good images. Everything I would expect from this lens.

[55 mm (Front)] Very good, lightweight compact lens. I have tested this on my Z Cam S6 and it does in fact cover Super 35 in 6K, there is some slight issue with the corners in open gate only. It's rectilinear, so on the S6 with no lens correction in body it looks great, plus of course it is also way wider than m4/3. So for an S6 owner, you get the super wideangle, low distortion and electronic control.
Works fine on my Lumix cameras, but I have heard of some ppl with issues with the firmware. Works fine for me so far.
Sharpness: while not at the absolute tippy top, it's veru sharp across the frame. 2.8 is better than 2.0, and F4 or 4.5 is the sweet spot.
Aperture: this is electronic only.
Hood: a bit too flexible and small, but fine and it comes with the camera.
There's really no issues with this lens. It also can focus fairly close. It's hard to focus only because everything is always in focus.
When you look at it, it's tiny so you figure, well, it can't be that bright. But, actually, it's a bright lens with good color. It can overexpose a bit if you set it to auto, but this is easy to deal with with exposure compensation.
Flare: sure, it's a 10mm lens.

[55 mm (Front)] I am here to say I love Laowa lenses. I have half a dozen of them and plan to buy more. I particularly love how compact and light they are, the optics (Laowa really does innovative and highly differentiated things), the build quality and handling, and more recently, I love that they are making manual-focus lenses for Micro Four Thirds with electronic contacts to communicate EXIF and an electronic aperture (so I can focus wide open and have the lens stop down to the selected aperture just in time to take the shot). It is the best of all worlds and I wish more companies making manual focus lenses would add these features. I do not wish for autofocus; just for the rest of the electronics.

[f/8] This almost-pancake lens is a pleasure to use. I took the picture in downtown Toledo at sunrise, and the lens performed perfectly. Having to set the aperture mechanically is a new experience for me. It makes me think in new ways, and this lens is a great way to give it a try.

[f/8] Great build and image quality. It's wide (and m4/3), so manual focusing is no problem. In low light use MF assist and focus peaking at f/2. In bright light use f/8 and good old-fashioned zone focusing.

[f/8] Honestly I didn’t have high expectations for this lens. It has become my daily driver for my Lumix G85, the images come out sharp and honestly love the look it brings out.

[Manual Focus] I bought one of these with the electronic contacts to transfer data to my Olympus bodies. It's still manual focus, but focus peaking works with mine so focusing is effortless.

Sharpness was a delightful surprise. Of course it's not spectacular in the extreme corners at f/2. But it's useable! And by f/2.8 it's very good. Optimum is around f/4 (actually a little better than my Panasonic 8-18).

If you are able to look at uncorrected files, you'll see Laowa's claim of zero distortion is pretty close to true. And not having to do all that distortion correction probably helps the edges and corners a lot. I did try two copies, and one was better than the other, but both were really good. Don't know anything about video but if you want an ultra wide for stills, I reccomend this lens.

[180°] I chose this lens over the 7.5mm as I didn't want to go so wide. I found the 10mm is wide enough and with this lens being $100 cheaper than the 7.5mm along with it being an official M4/3 lens with camera communication, I felt it was a better value.

The image quality is great and I find it to be plenty sharp, even wide open. The sweet spot seems to be around F4.0. I also love the close focus distance which gives some nice macro images. There is some vignette at wide open just like the 7.5mm.

This is a great focal length for doing on camera gimbal shots. I feel that the 7.5mm is too wide and requires you to get much closer to your subject which leads to facial distortions. (big noses)

Be sure to turn off the in-body I.S. when walking with the lens hand held or you'll get the dreaded warbly background. I didn't notice too much warbly background with I.S. using the gimbal but I try to switch off I.S. to be safe. I.S. isn't needed with this wide of a lens on a gimbal.
