A: You have to wire it to the main switch you use to turn your gear on. This way when you turn on whatever master switch you are using to turn everything on the sign lights up. When you finish working and shut down the light will go out. Normally in studios they used to be wired to the tape machine transport so once you pressed play the sign would go on.

A: No, this particular Sandies 340 RECORDING Light features a built-in 110 VAC to 12 VDC LED driver that allows you to use 110 VAC power. The 12 VDC version is MFR# 340-REC-12 which we should be able to order for you. Please contact us by phone if that is the one that you would like to order as we do not have it listed on the website. A: Good question. I believe there a few different ways to accomplish this install to be compatible with a wireless remote switch. You would have to do some research on that however. One way I know of is using a pico wireless remote and a Lutron PowPak RMJ-5R-DV-B. They are compatible together. The pico can be used as a portable remote device or it can be installed using a wall adapter. The powpak could be mounted right o. The side of a junction box or it could probably fit inside of the recording light fixture. There's plenty of room inside. I believe there's a 30' range on these devices. That's just one quick way of doing it for about $150-$200.

A: It is meant to be installed permanently by an electrician. They will run a line to a wall switch or the Technical Director's control panel to turn the light on or off.
