[8 W ] What helped get my attention... Deal Zone... two of these lights in a kit, with A/C power, and stands for $100 !!!! Wow. Let's start there! Got TWO kits (totaling 4 lights) since the price was worth exploring. The brightness throughout the color spectrum was impressive and great to see... for an effect light, atmosphere enhancer, and as a hair light (edge, trim, etc), and a lightweight fill in some instances.
Plastic but perfect. I really think you'll fall in love with these sweet spot hitters.
The bluetooth connectivity in the app is okay. Don't expect the easy to use and responsiveness of Sidus Link as with Apurture lighting units... but it gets the job done because its easily navigable and quite responsive. The interface is a weeee bit clunky but the app TRULY WORKS and is self explanatory. It's intuitive enough for sure!!
You may want to ensure that you have an articulating arm or an adjustable coldshoe mount to help tilt the unit at its 1/4 20 screw slot. It will help painting your shots with more dexterity.
Have a blast with these. They will prove to be pretty awesome addition!! -Brian A,

[CRI 97] Im loving this light. I have the gvm 800D lights and they work great but for my video work I thought having these style lights that have sole built in light effects would be very useful for me. The back control buttons are pretty much the same with a few extra settings for controlling the preset light effects. This light does not come with a light stand so I just used another light stand that I had and mounts well. The foldable barn doors on the front of the light are easy to fold up and put away in the carrying case. And the barn doors also help with directing the light in a more specific area. The adjust angle of the light and mount design is very important for my needs as sometimes I film top down and I also want my lights to be facing down the same way my camera is facing and with these GVM series of lights it is possible. I don’t often use this light outdoors but the fact that we can power it via 2 NPF batteries is a huge bonus for mobile filming run and gun. The adjustable color spectrum and controls we have available at the back of the light along with using the mobile app. Just makes it very easy to operate and also very convenient to be able to control several lights when in the master and slave modes. Overall I am very happy with this light and my purchase.

[LCD] I bought this light since it was the most cost-efficent long color LED wand around. The colors are great for accents and also work pretty well for a key light. Package comes with a mount that holds both of the wands at the same time. But I found that the easiest/fastest way for me to use them is to mount them directly into a threaded light stand by screwing them into the 1/4 inch spigot. One of these 1/4 female receivers did sheer off when I was mounting it, but I contacted GVM and they sent a replacement right away. They were fast and really helpful. The only criticism I have is with the bag: I wish it were a little bit thicker and had a shoulder strap. The bag isn't bad, but would be more convenient if I could sling it over a shoulder while carrying other gear. This light was a definite win. I'll probably buy a couple more, soon.

[CRI 97] This kit combines the light weight and highly portable lights and the accessories you need for setting up a simple studio.


I've been using GVM products over the years. They are all very reliable. However this time, one of the adapters is broken. This kind of things happens. I didn't want to return the whole thing back to B&H for a replacement so I contacted GVM directly. I got the replacement adapter in two days!

[8 W ] I got these a few months ago and the lights have worked great since I got them! Plus, I hang them on my wall, making for a great decorative feature when I'm not using them for product filming

[8 W ] I've been really pleased with this light wand thus far. It's easy to use, stays charged for hours, and offers multiple light choices. As a photographer, it's a useful tool for focusing light on subjects, especially in limited space areas.

[5 VDC at 2.4 A] I was searching for a lighting solution that was powerful but didn't take up too much room and these lights are amazing! They're small so they are easy to travel with and they can change colors which is a huge plus. I got the lighting kit as well as external batteries so when power isn't available or when I just don't want to deal with wires. I had a small issue with my order and GVM customer support was quick to respond and get it fixed! Overall great product and good experience.

[5 VDC at 2.4 A] A versatile, affordable light that works in a variety of contexts. When I found that the bracket holding the light unit needed to be replaced, GVM customer service was responsive and prompt.

[Yes] perfect entry level light. Lots of options,and even a few surprises!

[Bluetooth] I was looking for a control light stick for a while now and that's my second light stick. I found this one to be stronger and I love the ease of selecting the exact hue and color that I want. And the big benefit is the video light effects for simulating difference scenarios. Sometimes I use it just to create atmospheric light at the house for gathering. That was a well used purchase. Little on the expensive side but very functional.
