The compact and powerful Marian DIGITAL AUDIO ELECTRONICS Seraph AD8 MK II PCIelets you connect 32 audio channels in the smallest space possible—only one PCIe-slot width. The card offers eight balanced analog inputs and outputs (16 channels) on a breakout cable with 16 1/4" TRS connectors. It also provides eight AES/EBU digital inputs and outputs (16 channels) on eight XLR-3 connectors. With high-end converter chips supporting sample rates of up to 192 kHz / 24-bit resolution, an outstandingly accurate clock, and rugged construction, the Seraph AD8 MK II reliably delivers state-of-the-art sound quality for demanding applications in professional studios and installations.

The card features switchable real-time sample-rate conversion (SRC) that makes it easy to connect almost any type of digital sound source, offering maximum flexibility for easy and flexible integration into complex digital sound systems. The onboard BEAST DSP mixer provides enough processing power to create a flexible latency-free mixing console with EQ for all input signals. If several Seraph AD8 MKII cards are installed in a computer system and synchronized via the TDM SyncBus, the cards behave like a single device within the ASIO application.

Power RequirementsPCIe

  • PCIe card with 8 analog I/O and 8 AES/EBU digital I/O
  • 16-channel analog breakout cable with 16 balanced 1/4" TRS female connectors
  • 16-channel AES/EBU breakout cable with 4 XLR male connectors and 4 XLR female connectors
  • 192 kHz / 24-bit high-quality sample-rate converters on every input
  • MARIAN-SyncBus compatible and TDM-SyncBus compatible
  • Synchronization as clock master (internal clock to the AES/EBU or the SyncBus)
  • Synchronization as clock slave (processing an external clock at the AES/EBU or SyncBus)
  • Fail-safe firmware-update technology (automatic recovery of the firmware in case of errors)
  • Advanced multiclient drivers for Windows 32-/64-bit: 7/8/10 and Server 2003/2008/2008 R.21 / 20122
  • Driver support: MME, ASIO 2.23 , WASAPI, WDM Audio, DirectSound

  • With 115 dB dynamic range and a THD+N of less than 0.001% at -1 dBfs, the analog connections of the Seraph AD8 MKII deliver premium audio quality.
  • A hefty level of +15 dBu provides enough headroom at the inputs and sufficient signal at the outputs for any connected device.
  • Analog and digital processing is 24-bit and 192 kHz throughout, with no restrictions on the number of channels.

  • Switchable-input SRC with 144 dB dynamic range.
  • The SRCs, which can be switched on via software, allowing any digital input signal to be fed into the sound system regardless of sample rate or clock settings. So even without separate synchronization lines, any digital devices may be connected effortlessly.

  • The BEAST Mixer is a 56-channel DSP mixer integrated into the card's hardware. It provides latency-free routing, 224 high-precision analog-feel EQs, pre/post aux summing, and many other functions for all input signals, as well as playback signals from a DAW—just like an analog mixer.

  • If several Seraph cards are installed in a computer, they are synchronized via the TDM SyncBus and appear as a combined sound system to an ASIO application.
  • In the BEAST Mixer, up to 8 audio signals can be exchanged with other Seraph or Clara sound systems and integrated for the use with ASIO.

[AES3, Internal] Such a simple device that makes all the difference. Get the XLR connection secured and detached from the boom pole.

Secures snugly between Zeppelin/shockmount and the tip of the boom pole, and can be positioned quickly and easily. No more tape or Bongo ties to keep the connectors secure!

[AD/DA Converter] I use this on a boom pole and on mic stands for my Schoeps CCM M/S mic setup. This XLR holder keeps everything neat and quiet. Keeps cables from dangling and making low end noise. The price is not too bad considering how expensive various zeppelin suspension systems can get. Highly recommended.
