Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Could this cover the s35 sensor of the z cam s6 w/ MFT mount?

A: No, it will not. Although this will mount on the MFT mount, it will only cover an MFT sensor. It would be suited for a Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema 4K.

Q: 2. Will this cover super 35 sensor?

A: No, the SLR Magic Microprime Cine Lenses cover micro 4/3 sensors.

Q: 3. description says "suitable for 4k capture", will there be image issues if I record on a higher resolution than 4k?

A: There won't be issues recording higher resolutions with the SLR Magic MicroPrime CINE 35mm T1.5 Lens (MFT). The higher resolution may render the "flaws," in the lens and they may be more noticeable. Some consider such flaws to be "character."

Q: 4. in full pictures is 36mm?

A: The majority of MFT mount cameras will have a 2x crop factor. Yes, this will be the 35mm Equivalent of a 36mm lens.

Q: 5. What is the maximum magnification ratio? Does this focus all the way out to infinity?

A: The SLR Magic MicroPrime CINE 35mm T1.5 Lens (MFT) has about a 2x crop from a full-frame sensor when used on a Micro Four Third camera. The lens can focus to infinity.

Q: 6. In the FX3 will it have a focal length of 50mm?

A: Yes, the Sony FX3 is a full frame 35mm camera and so the FOV of the lens does not change from the 50mm.

Q: 7. what is the focal length on a bmpcc?

A: The original Pocket Cinema Camera has a 2.88x crop factor which will make this lens the equivalent of a 51.84mm. While the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K has a 1.9x crop factor for a 34.2mm field of view.

Q: 8. Hi just wandering if this lens will have any vignetting on a a7sii?

A: The lens covers a full frame sensor. It will not vignette when used with an A7SII.

Q: 9. Can I use it on the Tilta matte box mb-T12?

A: Yes you can use this lens with that matte box. That matte box offers 15mm rod support, you would just need a product like the IndiPro baseplate to use it. https://bhpho.to/2WzppUi

Q: 10. What’s the minimum focus distance on the 17mm?

A: It has a minimum focus distance of 7″/18cm.

[Super35/APS-C] I have both the 25mm and 50mm MicroPrime Cine lenses. Both are excellent manual lenses that work flawlessly on my Canon R5 with RF-EF adapter. I do a lot of product photography and video and to dial in focus is exactly what I need. Sure it is not autofocus, and isn't supposed to be, it is for those that want the ability of fine tuning detail and focus. The body is much higher quality metal than the plastic of the more expensive RF lenses. It is similar to zeiss lenses if you are familiar with those. I always color correct in post but the colors produced from the lenses seem consistent for my uses. The sharpness cannot be matched when combining these lenses with a 45mp sensor for photos and 8k video.

I have spent thousands in lenses in the past, but these are perfect for me at a much more reasonable cost than the alternative options.

[32.0 mm] This is now by far, one of my favorite 50mm lenses in Canon EOS mount. The colors are natural, there is very little focus breathing, the flaring feels classic but isn't extreme, the picture is detailed but not too sharp and, (the reason you buy an APO design lens) there is virtually no chromatic aberration. This lens is also all metal and well constructed, the iris and focus rings are smooth and have a comfortable 150 degree rotation. I'm looking forward to using this lens on a lot more projects.

[Sony E] This is a beautiful lens. The color is true. It loves skin. Wide-open it blooms, contrast drops, and it looks like you have a Promist filter on. Don't expect anywhere near sharp focus wide open. However, things sharpen up f/2.5-2.8. I bought and 32mm and 50mm, but the 32mm was soft through 3.5 - sent it back. I have yet to receive a replacement. Hopefully, it was a QC problem with that lens. Regarding the 50mm, the box had a crushed corner. So, I sent it back for an exchange.

[82 mm] It's true this new 2023 version is way better that previous version. I recently went to B&H with my old 25mm purchase 2022 and had a rep let me check out the 2023 version or new stock they had. I compared them and I realized the green cast was gone and it was brighter on the old 2022 version, the new one is even a bit sharper. I attached a image so you could see the difference.

I own the 25mm 32mm and 50mm. I'm going to pick up the 85mm later on this year.

[Super35/APS-C] The SLR Magic 25mm MicroPrime is a fantastic lens, it's detailed but not clinically sharp, the flaring has character but isn't distracting, and it's very well built. This lens also displays very little breathing and (of course) has minimal chromatic aberration. If you are in the market for a $1,500, cinema lens in EOS mount, you should seriously consider this one.

[11] In my opinion, the SLR Magic APO Microprimes are the best budget cine lenses on the market. All of the competitors in this price range - DZO, Meike, Rokinon, Irix, Dulens, etc. - have one or more of these weaknesses: chromatic aberration, lens breathing, color cast, or bokeh that contains "onion skin" or is shaped in a way I don't find appealing. Only the SLR Magic APO lenses performs very well in all of these categories. Extremely limited CA, minor lens breathing, accurate colors with maybe a tinge of warmth, and a clean, beautiful bokeh. I tested an older version of the 25mm and it had a distinct green color
cast compared to its siblings, but this new 25mm that I purchased from B&H in Feb. 2023 has fixed that issue and now matches my 32mm, 50mm and 85mm. Wide open at T2.1 the lenses have the right amount of softness for me, including around the edges, to cut the sharpness of digital sensors. At T2.8 it's a hair less sharp than my Sony GM primes and Fujinon Cabrio but very acceptable - again, especially given how sharp Sony sensors are. The very slight softness and warmth put the
lenses in between a vintage feel and modern feel, which I like. The flares are dramatic on these lenses, especially the 25mm, and that leans more toward a vintage feel.

[11] As with my review of their APO Microprime 85mm T2.1, These lenses are incredible for their price and quality. The image is crisp, but not overly sharp, bokeh is beautiful, I love how blues and reds are rendered, good contrast... right kind of character, weight and build I needed with my Komodo. I highly recommend paring these with the Canon x 0.71 focal reducer. I hope Slr Magic continues this line with other focal lengths.

[T1.5] I have the 25 mm SLR and with this lens it works great for me in matching the colors in the edition, there is no color variation in the optics and the look that this optics gives you is something modern and vintage.
