Q: 1. How many cm long it is rhis plate?( or inches) thanks

A: Length 3.54" / 90 mm = 9 cm

Q: 2. hey guys, I'm thinking to get a zoom lens to work on my a7iii and I don't know if it's better to go for the 100/400 G or this 70/200 G and the 2x extender. what do you suggest? I'm gonna use it for wild photography

A: 70-200mm is a better choice

Q: 3. hi im planning fitting this to my a6500 can you please give zoom values with & without the converter?.thanks, Terry

A: It says 1.4x....multiply 70 by 1.4. Now multiply 200 by 1.4. These two number make the larger range. Keep in mind with the teleconverer you get a worse f stop. It becomes a F4 stop

Q: 4. How durable is this lense in weather like rain or dust?

A: I've had it out for Friday Night Lights through many light mist to pouring rain circumstances. I do use a Rain Sleeve & I've not had a problem. When It's been a great lens that pairs wonderfully with my Sony a9. When I get home, I do undo everything & let everything dry overnight. I do not keep it in my bag. When you're investing that much money, I tend to do a bit more to ensure it's worth

Q: 5. What makes this lens better than the existing 70-200mm?

A: In addition to the other answers, this lens takes Sony's teleconverters. You have the option to use this as a 105-280mm ƒ4 lens with the SEL14TC.

Q: 6. Is this lens compatible with the Sony A 6000

A: Yes. This lens is fully compatible with the Sony Alpha a6000.

Q: 7. Will this fit the Sony 70-200 GM first gen?

A: No, the Sony Lens Hood for FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II Lens does not fit the version one of the 70-200 lens. This one fits, Sony ALC-SH145 Lens Hood, https://bhpho.to/3pa2RvU .

Q: 8. Campared to the Sony Sony FE 70-200mm f4.0 are the extra stops worth the $1,100 price for model and landscape photography?

A: It depends if you like to shoot wide open or not. Personally, I do and it was worth the extra investment when I was with Canon and its worth it now with Sony. I had the 4.0 version with Canon and ended up selling it and buying the 2.8 afterward. It makes a huge difference when shooting individual portraits. love this lens!

Q: 9. Is the zoom motorized and will it work with the zoom rocker on the Sony FS5?

A: The zoom on this lens is operated manually. The zoom rocker will not work with this lens on the FS5.

Q: 10. Does this len work for a7

A: Yes it does. They are all E-mount. So it is supposed to work just fine.

[0.165 lb] When you pay $12,000 for a lens, you want to do all you can to protect it. LensCoat lens covers are the real deal. This is the third super telephoto lens I have covered with a LensCoat cover. All the pieces were cut to fit and the assembly process was quick and painless. Everything fit as it was intended. When you use a lens that is almost two feet long, it tends to get bumped from time to time. The LensCoat cover does an excellent job of protecting the lens from scratches and dings. I recently sold a lens that had been protected with a LensCoat cover. When the cover was removed, the lens looked like it did the day it was purchased. Besides protection, the LensCoat cover provides camouflage and a warm touch on cold days. I would not use a long telephoto without it.

[0.165 lb] I got this one because I bought the same for the 200-600mm lens. Why I used to hunt and go berserk over camo for certain seasons, now I shoot with the camera. I like the real tree system for both lenses. The switches and buttons are still accessible, but not in the cold when you're wearing thin gloves...you need your fingertip to activate switches through the plastic window. Rings still turn great...just adjust the neoprene to ensure no drag against the neighboring pieces.

My only issue (which is trivial) is the small arc cutout for the white locator pin used to attach the lens to the body is not large enough to see the pin; however, you know where it is based on the small arc itself. Or, get out your scissors and cut a bigger arc!

[0.165 lb] After experiencing how well LensCoat lens covers work for my 200-600mm, I picked one up for this lens. The fit incredibly well and provide that extra-level of protection, while also making you look important when not in the field! Highly recommend these covers

[Neoprene] Love Lenscoat neoprene covers. They are stitched well and stretchable enough to fit your lenses. The only negative would be the cost and it is sometimes difficult to operate switches below the transparent window covers. On the plus side, these covers last a very long time and can often be reused on other lenses after switching lenses.
