A: The Ronin 3D Follow Focus is compatible with a majority of compact manual lenses. The distance from the flange to the focus ring is not important when performing the focus motor calibration. Focus the 3D Focus System on a person or large object in the center of the camera view that is approximately 1m away. Repeat the previous step with a person or large object that is approx. 4 m away

Q: 5. Will this work on a BMPCC4K with a Metabones speedbooster MFT-to-EF mount installed (and an hard stop RF lens) ?

A: This is for Continuous Focus with Manual Lenses. It should work with any lens that can be successfully balanced on the gimbal that is either manual or being used in a manual mode.

Q: 6. Will this work on any camera (with a manual focus lens) or does the camera still needs to be compatible to the RS2 gimbal?

A: The DJI Ronin 3D Focus System for RS 2 Gimbal (B&H# DJR3DFS) itself will work with any lens posessing a linear focusing ring using the correct RS 2 focus motor and can be calibrated using the RS 2 gimbal if that lens has hard stops for maximum and minimum focus. The camera itself does not really need to be compatible with the RS 2 gimbal if the RS 2 gimbal is locked. In such a situation, the 3D Focus System will still work, but of course the camera cannot be moved or stabilized with the gimbal's axes locked.

Q: 7. Does this focus system work off the gimbal? Maybe I can just power it another way? I want to use this focus system on a tripod

A: This is specifically designed to operate and power off the gimbal.
