Packed with 37 billion transistors, the Apple M3 Pro integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). Now built with 3nm process technology, the Apple M3 Pro delivers the performance you need without sacrificing power efficiency. The 12-Core CPU features six performance cores and six efficiency cores. The enhanced 16-Core Neural Engine accelerates powerful machine learning models, making AI/ML workflows even faster while keeping data on device to preserve privacy. The M3 Pro offers support for up to 36GB of unified memory.

With an 18-Core GPU, the M3 Pro features Dynamic Caching, which allocates the use of local memory in hardware in real time. Dynamic Caching only uses the exact amount of memory needed is used for each task, which dramatically increases the average utilization of the GPU, resulting in significant performance increases for the most demanding pro apps and games. Hardware-accelerated ray tracing has arrived for the Mac. Ray tracing models the properties of light as it interacts with a scene, allowing apps to create extremely realistic and physically accurate images. Additionally, the improved GPU brings hardware-accelerated mesh shading to the Mac, delivering greater capability and efficiency to geometry processing, and enabling more visually complex scenes in games and graphics-intensive apps. The M3 Pro features two video encode engines, two ProRes engines, and AV1 decode.

Featuring mini-LED technology, this MacBook Pro houses a 14.2" Liquid Retina XDR display. Delivering up to 1000 cd/m² of sustained, full-screen brightness, a high 1600 cd/m² of peak brightness, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and a billion colors, the Liquid Retina XDR display can handle the extreme dynamic range of HDR content, providing detailed shadows, brilliant specular highlights, deeper blacks, and vivid colors. The display is less than 4mm thin, which is achieved by having seven films and diffusers that mix and shape the light efficiently. The oxide thin film transistor (TFT) allows pixels to charge twice as fast as before.

With ProMotion technology, the MacBook Pro automatically varies the refresh rate to match the motion of your onscreen content. This helps preserve battery life while also making tasks feel more fluid and responsive. This means that the display can have up to a 120 Hz refresh rate. Video editors will also have the option to lock in a refresh rate that is optimal for their footage.

[120 Hz] Absolutely love my new MacBook! I consider myself fairly tech-savvy, but what I always appreciate about Apple products is that they just work right out of the box with minimal setup and little fuss. With just a few clicks the transfer assistant had my data from my old MacBook migrated over with ease. This was a big upgrade for me since I was coming from a late 2019 Intel Macbook Pro with only 8GB of RAM. I tend to use a lot of tabs in Safari, while simultaneously working in multiple Adobe Creative Cloud apps, a VMWare virtual Machine, and occasionally SketchUp. While my previous laptop would begrudgingly (slowly) support that workflow, it was increasingly obvious that 8GB of RAM wasn't sufficient for my needs. So after much thought and research I opted for the base M3 Pro chip over the upgraded chip M3 Pro and went with a model with 36 GB of RAM instead, and I couldn't be happier! I look forward to really unlocking the performance of this new M3 Pro Macbook Pro as time goes on. And the space black color is gorgeous! 5

[1x HDMI ] I have been using Macs since 1990 and they just keep getting better. This one replaces a 2012 MacBook Pro that never wanted to quit. I was at a point where I could not update the OS anymore so decided to replace. I could not pass up a sale B&H was having and with their credit card option, I saved the tax, too. This new model is everything and more of what I was expecting. It's super fast with a great screen and very light. My laptops are my digital darkrooms and this one is easy to carry and travel with. There are plenty of ports, I just needed to buy a few new cables for my existing peripherals. This model has an SD card slot, also. This version allows use of two external monitors if needed, I tend to keep it light so have not connected a monitor yet and probably won't. The battery keeps its charge pretty much all day which is something I am not used to. I stepped back from Adobe a few years ago and have embraced Affinity, their suite screams on this Mac. If you are on the fence, get off and buy this guy. The only real decision you should be making is either 14 or 16 and your preferred configuration. 5

[Apple ProMotion] Delivery was on time, and the box and product were in absolute perfect conditions. As a long time MacBook user I am already used to the great experience and performance of these notebooks. Now coming from the 2019 16 i7 macbook pro, I can tell the huge difference in performance comparing to this one. I am a software engineer and so far the computer has met all of my needs perfectly. Totally recommended. If you can afford the 16 one, even better. 5

[ Unified Memory] I absolutely adore this computer. It's fast, efficient, has an incredible screen than makes everything else look dull in comparison and has a good looking exterior as well. I upgraded from a M1 MacBook Pro with Touchbar (16gb, 256gb SSD) and this MacBook Pro is a night and day difference. While the M1 was no slouch, this is an upgrade in every single way. Better speakers, better keyboard (actual function keys), incredible and larger screen, faster processor and graphics, additional ports beyond the two USB-C ports, MagSafe and somehow even a better battery. I briefly considered getting the 16 or upgrading the Ram to 36gb, but I love the 14. It's portable yet large enough for multitasking and the 18gb base option is more than enough for the Lightroom, Photoshop and productivity work that I do. If I were a video editor I would definitely spring for more ram and maybe consider the Max variant, but as strictly a photographer and writer, this is already more than enough computer for me. 5
