Protect cameras, lenses, photographic and optical equipment, mobile electronics, and other valuables from excessive moisture, dirt, and dust with the Ruggard EDC-230LC Electronic Dry Cabinet. The cabinet's fast-acting TE Cooling Wafer regulates the interior's relative humidity from 60-35% to help prevent fungus and corrosion that can damage delicate gear and other sensitive materials. Humidity adjustments take place over a 1- to 3-hour period.

The large LCD screen displays ambient temperature (in Fahrenheit or Celsius) and the relative humidity. The cabinet is gasket-sealed to maintain humidity levels.

The door features a three-digit combination lock to keep the cabinet contents safe and secure and to prevent unauthorized access to your equipment. The easy-to-use combination lock allows you to set a three-digit combination with over 900 possible combinations.

The Electronic Dry Cabinet has no fan or compressor to make noise, so it provides silent operation. It is also dripless, eliminating the need for a messy water tray that requires draining. The cabinet is powered by an included multi-voltage power supply.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Which size is best for storing 1-2 laptops (13 ; can be stacked) and 1-2 non-full frame SLRs?

A: I would recommend the 80L, as access is better, and you may want to put lenses in also. I can fit a 600mm f4 (old version) and a 300-500mm, along with 2 bodies and multiple smaller lenses. Could put your bodies and 13 laptops on the top shelf.

Q: 2. How much weight can the adjustable shelf support?

A: While a load capacity on the adjustable shelf for the EDC-30L is not publish, it could easily hold 3 lenses or a camera body up to 5-6 lbs.

Q: 3. I purchased the 125L and the door handle was installed inside the cabinet? Was this on purpose?

A: I just read the Ruggard online manual that said some of their dry cabinets are shipped with the handle installed inside and to use a screwdriver to remove it and install it outside but to avoid over- tightening the screws when you do.

Q: 4. Can this run on 12 volt DC? If so, do you think I could keep this on a 38 foot sailboat without draining my batteries?

A: Unfortunately, the EDC-50L cannot run on 12 volt DC.

Q: 5. In the humidity display, image of droplets are flashing. Is this normal ?

A: Yes it is normal

Q: 6. what material the cabinet is made of?

A: The cabinet is made of steel.

Q: 7. Can this dry cabinet be used to store items like stamps or coins etc?

A: Yes, anything that needs a dry environment will benefit by this cabinet.

Q: 8. What us the max current draw in amps @ 120Volt AC?

A: Unfortunately, the manufacturer was only able to supply the wattage which is 8 watts at 120VAC.

Q: 9. I live in Florida and therefore when I take my camera outside it fogs up. If I use this, would it also warm it to at least 80° so there is not such a differential between Air Condition room and the outside?

A: No, this doesn't have a heater element to it, just a dehumidifier effect. It does basically keep the same temperature as the interior room it's placed in. For example: I live in Hawaii and the non-air conditioned room my Ruggard is in is currently 84 degrees F and 79% humidity. Inside the Ruggard unit itself, it says it's 82 degreees F and 42% humidity. So the temperature is basically the same, but the humidity level is drastically reduced of course. I understand what you are aiming for by preventing fog - one idea would be to place the Ruggard in an area where the air conditioning isn't used such as a Garage. If that's not an option, could go down the path of jimmy rigging the unit with a very small plug in heating coil device and fishing the cord out of a hole drilled into the back or peel away just enough padding from the door edge to fish it through. This COULD be a fire hazard so I would suggest finding the exact proper heating coil that's well insulated, and putting in small digital portable temperature display unit to keep an eye on the heat temperature/consistency.

Q: 10. Can you switch door opening direction from right to left?

A: No, you would not be able to switch the direction of the door.

[<15 W] I was looking for a way to easily store and access my cameras and lenses in a dust-free place. Also I need humidity control in the summer. This cabinet is well made and convenient to use. I decided to keep a battery powered humidity monitor inside to check the humidity. The cabinet maintains a steady humidity level while the temperature and humidity in the room vary.

[<15 W] Received the 80L Ruggard a few weeks ago. It was very well packed. The case itself performs very well. The humidity in my home over the past few weeks has been 55-65 percent, but the cabinet has kept the humidity at a constant 40 percent (though when I open the cabinet it takes it a while to return to 40).

I tested the accuracy of the cabinet with a separate digital hygrometer and the difference between the cabinet reading and my hygrometer was never more than 2 percentage points of relative humidty.

[Glass, Steel] I got the 125 L size because of the pull out shelves, which make access much easier. It's doing a perfect job of holding the humidity at 30-32%. That reading agrees with another humidity gauge I have, tho the Ruggard is much faster to respond when I open the door. The setup was easy & quick. The shelf spacing is easily adjusted. It only took about 15 minutes to get the humidity down from 70% to 30% after initial startup.

[60 to 35] Instruction manual was for a different model than the one I ordered and was basically useless anyway. I watched a utube video relating to my specific model that was helpful. The unit itself arrived in perfect condition with extensive packaging. Once turned on it took a while to reach my chosen humidity level but has operated flawlessly since. I’ve only had the unit for a couple weeks so I can’t comment on long term reliability.

[LCD Display] I don’t know if I even need it but I was like I invest so much on gear, I should probably get it.

It looks good in the room so that’s a bonus.

[Glass, Steel] This was a bit of an impulse buy for me while on sale and turned out to be a purchase I am very happy about. As I have recently invested heavily in lenses, this gives me a safe and secure place to keep them and piece of mind that the humid summer won’t encourage fungal growth. I haven’t verified that the temp and humidity readings are accurate but trust that they are close enough to serve the purpose.
