A: The Samson C01UCW is a mono microphone. A hollow sound can be caused by several factors. Condenser mics are very sensitive, and will be affected by room reflections and reverbaration. If you are using the mic in a large room with reflective walls it may cause this type of sound. Many times just by relocation the mic or even turning it slightly may improve your sound. A: Unfortunately the Samson C01 U does not feature a headphone jack. Samson does offer the C01U Pro however which has upgraded electronics which allows for a cleaner recording, especially in softer speech applications, and a headphone jack for monitoring.

A: When using headphones connected directly to the C)!U Pro you will receive a mix of the direct signal that the microphone is picking up with zero latency and the return audio from your software. When direct monitoring is disabled you are hearing return of all signal from your software and latency will depend on the computer specs and settings. With the speed and efficiency of currently available processors, latency is rarely an issue.
