[USB] The UNVR is surprisingly fast at loading up videos, scrolling through video, etc. Even with 8 G4 cameras (5 G4 Pros, 3 G4 Bullets). Setup was a breeze.


The thing I don't like about this is the Protect mobile app can't discover it if it's on its own VLAN. I don't think a camera network -- particularly exterior cameras -- should be on a native network. I have it set so that only certain MAC addresses are authenticated on my camera VLAN (the cameras, UNVR, some Android tablets that I use as mobile camera viewers, and my Viewports). Our iPhones/iPads have to connect remotely since you can't specify an IP address (it relies 100% on discovery). Since UI doesn't implement mDNS reflection on all VLAN's correctly, it won't be discoverable. I'm thinking of using the RJ45 connection to my main LAN while the SFP+ is on my camera VLAN.


There has been some discussion about failures due to a generic USB flash drive that was utilized for OS storage. The UNVR-Pro has eMMC flash memory instead of a USB flash drive. I can confirm that with newer versions (board revision 38 for me), the generic USB flash drive is gone. I'm guessing it's an eMMC memory module that's in its place.

[0.55 lb] As the title said once I removed the plastic from the battery compartment, finding and adopting this device into my console was very easy. I purchased 2 of these to be used on separate floors in my house and so far I'm very pleased with the purchase.

[5 VDC at 0.9 A] Only works with UniFi Protect. Pretty impressive device. Definitely set and forget viewer. I think the price is on the high side. If UBNT drops it by $50 then that will be the sweet spot.

[White] I was surprised at how well this device works. I set it up so that when I'm working late shifts or night shifts, my wife can change TV inputs to view our exterior cameras. You can customize the views (via the Protect web interface, then assign the view to the Viewport). It's very quick at loading images. This is a well-designed product by UI.

[0.55 lb] As with all Ubiquiti items they are easy to setup. Had two set up in less than 5 minutes. I feel more comfortable leaving the house for longer periods of time knowing I will get motion, temperature and humidity alerts.

[4.5 W] Added this to our TV as a quick option to view exterior cameras for the family. Typically if someone hears something, it takes time to login to the app to see if there is anything ongoing. This allows a near instantaneous way to view cameras that are already in a live view mode.

[0.55 lb] Product requires almost not set up. Make internet connection, add the drives, download the UniFi app and that pretty much it! Enough storage for my needs and requirements. Strong housing.

[5 VDC at 0.9 A] I purchased this because My iPad would not keep the screen alive. I am very happy with the picture quality. Only downside is that darn 16 camera maximum. My old system could display 32 cameras all at once on a large 72 screen TV. I wish there was a way to put this in my office and view all of my Unify Protect systems remotely.
