Create analog polyphonic synths and multimono patches with the Tiptop Audio ATX1, a classic, all-analog saw-core voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) with three switchable modes (ART, 1V/Oct, LFO), designed as the basic building block for the ART system. ART is the latest Eurorack signal (like CV and gate), but with multiple streams of information including 100% perfect pitch.

In 1V/Oct mode, the ATX1 runs as a standard old-school modular VCO. LFO mode drops the frequency range to CV level and is great for patching vibrato to other ATX1 and VORTEX oscillators. The ATX1 outputs variable waveshapes with manual or CV control. Classic FM, PWM, and hard sync are provided. As with all ART-enabled sound sources, a dedicated gate out ensures the voice envelope or any modulation source is synced to that voice.

A: When using the DECIMATOR 2 3G/HD/SD-SDI to HDMI Converter with Built-In NTSC/PAL Downscaler & Analog Audio Outputs, you can configure the Decimator 2 to output analogue SD signals as a 16x9 anamorphic signal as well as options for letterboxed and straight 4:3.

Q: 2. Can the Decimator 2 simultaneously downconvert the input to composite while passing through the original format to HDMI?I want to input 720p59 over HD-SDI and output both 720p59 over HDMI and downconverted NTSC composite (anamorphic).

A: From what I have read, yes it can, however I will double check and get back to you. However, I am using 1080p/60 so there may be a difference for you. But this thing is fantastic

Q: 3. Does this result in 32-bit float or integer PCM recordings? Steinberg/Yamaha interfaces result in 32I, causing compatibility problems.

A: This is a floating point device.

Q: 4. Will the USB cable work both to provide power and to transmit signal to a computer? I need something to record from a condenser microphone (MXL770) to a laptop.

A: YES, the power can be supplied via the USB cable. I use it to connect a condenser microphone to an Apple laptop without issue.

Q: 5. Will this work as a headphone amp/ dac as well as microphone amp? Am wanting to improve sound from laptop to headphones

A: Do not understand what you mean with dac . If the purpose is to improve the laptop output, I suggest you look for something else, as this pre-amp was conceived for high quality Analog to Digital Conversion (ADC) from microphones. The headphone level you've got with this pre-amp is just for monitoring purposes during recording, thus the output level is quite comparable to what's provided by a laptop.

Q: 6. Will this work with Windows 10?

A: Not compatible with Windows 10.

Q: 7. Can I use this product to do external video monitoring with Avid Media Composer 8?

A: NLE, Non-Linear Editing programs, are not meant to be used in such fashion. We would suspect if it were even possible to see live video, it would not be a reliable connection. We recommend sending the video signal to a proper monitor.

Q: 8. Hello,I need a lightweight battery powered preamp. It will be used for nature sounds recording with a matched pair Rode NT5 and a Tascam DP008EX recorder. This preamp doesn't have XLR outs bu 1/4'', and the recorder has 2 1/4'' inputs. Is it possible to use this preamp with my recorder?Thanks!Dani

A: Hi Dani,Yes, you can use the 1/4 outputs from the preamplifier to directly drive the 1/4 inputs in your recorder. you only need to buy or build two simple cables with plugs at both ends. As far as signal voltage levels are concerned, I don't expect any problem because you can comfortably adjust the preamplifier monitor level to prevent saturation of your recorder inputs (by the way, the 1/4 outputs and the 1/8 outputs both depend on the monitor knob). As far as equalization is concerned, I don't expect a problem either, assuming the recorder inputs have a flat response - i.e. are not designed for musical instruments (if the latter applies, you might need re-equalization during recording or playback, but I'd not consider this as a drawback). Therefore, this wonderful preamplifier meets your needs. Cheers from Italy.

Q: 9. I have a video switcher with Program out via SDI, I am told there is embedded audio running out with the SDI video signal. Will this unit work for my application? I want my SDI PRGM output from my switcher to feed into a standard LCD TV monitor via HDMI with video and sound. I want to set up client monitors in the Greenroom down the hall .. All my SDI feed does for my consumer HDMI TV is video only...Thanks

The Decimator 2 will all you to pass both video and embedded audio from the SDI input to the HDMI output for monitoring on your LCD TV. Just in case you need it, there is also a pair of analog line level outputs for driving an amplifier or set of active speakers as well. I hope this helps. Jules

[6.5 x 2.8 x 2"] This is the second one of these I've purchased, to get even more voices. Out of all the prophet follow-on synths that Dave Smith and Sequential have produced over the years, this one finally captures the sound of the famous Prophet-5. Some people complain that they followed the scheme of the original Prophet-5 a little too closely and left out some functions (like onboard effects) that recent synths seem to have, but I think Sequential arrived at the right balance on this unit. 5

[0.375 lb] I preordered the VL2 based purely on my enjoyment of Pittsburgh's previous Taiga synth. The VL2 is a completely blank slate for you to dive in, experiment and tweak/build to your hearts desire. The new waveform/folding options are deep and the sequencer on this system is amazing. Create anything from polyrhythms and percussives to full on melodic arrangements, all complete with chance/scanning/scrubbing/fills/slides etc. The middle blue row (shared by both sequencers) is a terrific idea that opens up your modulation options in really fun ways that you may not fully realize until you get your hands on the system. Florist chorus/reverb and a longer delay (than the Taiga) are welcome effect additions to add flavor to any arrangement. I LOVE this synth. It's big, it's easy to touch and play and it sounds amazing. They nailed it once again. 5
