The MINIVATOR II 142" Geared Stand from Matthews is a taller and stronger version of the MINIVATOR stand. It has a load capacity of 80 lb, and extends from 55" to 142".

A "Rocky Mountain" leg allows individual leveling adjustment to one leg, which is useful on uneven surfaces, making the MINIVATOR II ideal for location work. 4" casters can be purchased separately, making this versatile stand available for studio and stage use.

A durable, double-cable mechanism keeps both risers traveling at equal proportions with each turn of the handle, ensuring firm and steady movement of the light fixture. Thirty-eight turns of the handle will take the fixture to full height. A "Combo" dual-purpose top casting allows for use of both Junior pin and Baby receiver fixtures.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do the wheels lock in place?

A: They are double locking caster.

Q: 2. Do you sale it separated. Top adapter and legs?

A: The unit I own is all sold as one piece. The 5/8's pin is an integral of the stand. You might be able to obtain individual parts from Matthews through B&H.

Q: 3. Will this fit the matthews c stand?

A: no

Q: 4. Is this stand still being made? I'm not seeing it on MSE's site under their current stands.

A: Yes, the Matthews MINIVATOR II 142" geared stand is back pre ordered till mid Apr 2023

Q: 5. Is this as stable as The Slider Stand? Looking for something heavy duty that has wheels for our Kessler Shuttle Dolly. The wheels that you add to The Slider Stand are ridiculously expensive adding an additional $200 to a $281 stand!

A: No, the Slider stand is more stable. But not by a lot, the slider stand supports up to 80lbs and the monitor stand supports up to 70lbs.

Q: 6. Does this stand have hanger pins to hang on wall/truck mounts like combo and baby stands?

A: Unfortunately, the Matthews MINIVATOR II 142 Geared Stand lacks hanger pins to hang it on a wall or a truck mount.

Q: 7. Is this stand suitable for use with a boom such as BH #MABJM?

A: This work for a manfrotto superboom or mini boom.

Q: 8. What is the weight of the stand with out the wheels?

A: According to the manufacturer its 17 lbs.

Q: 9. How is this any better than a C-stand with a 20" riser? The C-stand is cheaper, more versatile (comes with an arm). I'd like to know why this would be better specifically for monitoring.

A: The following stand has a wider foot print and can support more weight.

Q: 10. Que peso tiene el centipede

A: 27.5 lb each

[Yes] This stand will hold anything you mount to it. I bought it to hold the Manfrotto Mega-Boom. Make sure you purchased the optional wheel kit. This thing is a beast!

[Yes] I got this to lift up a 12' menaces arm kit with a lantern or raise up the M18 HMI head I have. It is nice because it is not much larger than a regular 3 riser combo, although a heads up, it will not fit in a standard combo stand rack if that is how you store them in your truck or shop. Also the caster the sell for it are a pain to install. But all in all, it works great.

[Yes] It is a beast! I can easily handle a 4 x 6 softbox with a Speedotron quad flash head. I also use it with a Speedotron/DeSisti fresnel and a heavy duty adjustable offset arm and can thus shoot butterfly lighting with the light over the camera axis with the stand to the side. Wheels are compulsory for studio use. To be able to get a heavy light into the air without much effort is wonderful. Wish I made the investment many years ago.

[Yes] Great stand. Basically a crank mombo combo. Perfect for a Skypanel s60C, M18 or 4K HMI. heavy enough to stay put. Just light enough to move by yourself. Very happy with it. I have 2.

[Yes] I bought the Matthews Minivator II and there is nothing mini about it! I love these wheels because otherwise it would be nearly impossible for a single woman photographer to move that beast around! It weighs about 45lbs and good for studio unless you have The Hulk to bring it on location for you! These are heavy, heavy duty wheels and fit the stand perfectly. You do need tools to attach to the stand. Take off the leg ends that come with the stand and then slide these in. Thanks to my husband for putting this together for me. Couldn't do without these wheels!

[Included] I initially purchased this to mount a talent monitor on it for a studio shoot. Instead of paying 1K for a talent monitor that matched my teleprompter, I bought this stand and mounted one of my studio monitors with a vesa mount. The entire set up was still less than buying the talent monitor. I also used this recently on a photo shoot to mount my flash. The only down side to using it as a flash mount is that it only goes up to 6 feet. It worked fine for that particular shoot, but I could have use another 1-2 feet to get the proper 45 degree angle I wanted for my subject. The images turned out great, but I will go back to my c-stands and sand bags. This stand is solid enough to mount almost anything on it. Well worth the price.

[Yes] Great build quality. I like how both extensions raise at the same time when turning crank to lift. Load will not come down until you turn the crank down. I like that it collapses down to 63.5" so I can throw it into my vehicle. I considered the Global Truss DT-PRO4000 but it only goes 130" high and this stand is 16 lbs. lighter. I also like the leg extension for uneven surfaces. Helps make this stand extremely stable.

[53.5 lb] This is the heaviest duty stand I've ever used. Very much needed to support the 75 Elinchrom Octa.
