Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does 82 to 55 include in the box?

A: 82mm filter for 55mm lens is one of the rings included in this kit.

Q: 2. What is the tread pitch of the filter?

A: The Sensei 86-95mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring has a 1.0mm thread pitch.

Q: 3. Can I stack two filters?

A: Yes, you can stack 2 filters with the same size thread but beware of vignetting (darkening of the edges) with wider angle lenses.

Q: 4. I have a 40.5mm lens and a 82mm nd filter, can I use a 49-82mm step up ring in between?

A: Sounds like you are planning to use two step up rings - one 40.5 to 49, and one 49 to 82. I don't know of any reason why you couldn't do this physically. I use a 40.5mm to 49mm step up ring on my a6000 using the 16-15mm lens and have not experienced any vignetting. I would think the 82 step up would be wide enough not to cause vignetting.

Q: 5. Can this be used with filters that aren't B+W brand? Such as Firecrest?

A: I've used these step up rings with various filter brands ... Hoya, Nikon, etc...

Q: 6. When using this adapter, with a 77mm nd filter on a 58mm cap size lens, will it have any downsides? Or is it gonna look perfect just like a 58mm filter?

A: When using the B+W 58-77mm Step-Up Ring, photos should look fine using the 58mm cap size, unless one is using a fisheye wide angle lens.

Q: 7. Can these be used with the Lee Filter Holder system for Rectangular Filters?

A: I just used filters w step rings nothing more. Sorry, I don't know...

Q: 8. Can use Nisi V5/V5 Pro?

A: This is step up ring set , to use Nisi V5/V5 you will still need Nisi adapter ring

Q: 9. Will this adapter fit the Canon SX50? I want a metal adapter, the plastic one I used for a VERY SHORT TIME split. If not this one, can you recommend one? Thank you.

A: No, that is a step up ring. The built in lens on the SX50 does not have filter threads and can only use the filter adapter made for it. The link for that is, http://bhpho.to/1brgUcX.

Q: 10. 49 mm is a common thread size for Sony and mft lenses, so I think the small 37mm is also a mft and small bayonet lenses, so, I think it's good to step for this kind of lenses

A: Is this a question or a statement?

[0.01 lb] Perfectly fit for Leica E46 lens to step up to 49mm for Graduated ND filters. In my case, I bought also E39 to 49mm so that I can use the same set of filters.

[0.01 lb] It's a ring. What could go wrong with it.

[0.01 lb] This ring flawlessly adapts things that are 39mm in the rear end to things that are 49mm on the front end!

[5 mm] I needed this for a crazy task: converting my ancient (1952?) Leitz Elmar 9cm (90mm) lens to accept a 49mm lens hood or lens cap to be used on a Canon EOS M6 Mark II. It's a great old lens, great new camera (and because the sensor is APS-C, it's only using the center of this excellent lens). I already had an old Tiffen adapter ring to mount a Series VI UV filter, and it screwed into the 39mm front threads of the lens. I did not have a 44mm lens cap or hood to screw into that Series VI adapter, but did have some spares of each in 49mm.

Bizarre and probably a little confusing, I know.

This step-up ring bridged the gap, and everything fits great with no vignetting caused by the Tiffen metal lens hood, which screws into the step-up ring just like the metal lens cap pictured. (Nice to have a good lens hood when shooting in full sun with an old single-coated lens).

[46 mm to 49 mm] Works as it should. These things are great if you want to standardize on a particular filter size.

[Side, Top] As an engineering issue a step-up ring from one screw thread size to another is not hard. This one did what it claimed. I would be making a big fuss if it didn't.
