FSU Bundle is designed for experimental sound processing. The cards are based on the same algorithms and presets found in the FSU FX module and are designed to turn any input signal into something completely different. A 4th bonus card is a re-issue of Error Codes, one of the very first cards released to the public by a third party DSP programmer, Rolf Wöhrmann, who is now Waldorf Music CTO. The card's last algorithm has been altered by our own Chris Clepper to make it match the current version of the Z-DSP as well as the older ones.

FSU Bundle: Distort

  • This bank distorts the incoming audio in various ways from emulations of analog tape and fuzz distortion to ring mod and frequency shifting.
  • All of the programs in this bank are designed to work with the Mix set to 100% wet (full clockwise). Interesting effects can also be made with varying amounts of dry signal mixed in as well.

FSU Bundle: Glitch

  • This bank of algorithms uses a variety of delay and pitch techniques to introduce glitches and warp the sound.
  • Most of these work best with 100% wet output (Mix knob at full clockwise) to get the maximum glitchy effects. When the dry is mixed in they can also create types of chorus, delay and tremolo effects as well.

FSU Bundle: SOS

  • The key to using these programs is to only grab shorter chunks of sound, which can be done manually, but an envelope generator (AR, ADSR) can help with controlling and triggering what is recorded.
  • At the highest Fidelity there is only 1 second of memory but lowering the DSP clock increases the recording time and changes the pitch of the recording. Fidelity is pretty critical to these effects.
  • These programs need to be set to 100% wet mix for maximum effects.

FSU Bundle: Error Codes (Free Card with FSU Bundle)

  • Error Codes is a reissue of one of the first commercially available cards for the Z-DSP and is included as a bonus set of audio mangling effects to complement the FSU bundle.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this cartridge replace my Technics SL-L2 turntable cartridge?

A: The pmount carts are supposed to work with this and other pmount arms. I bought this as it was a successor cart to the AT cart on my table. Also theyre supposed to be the same weight so you dont have to worry about tracking force etc. No new screw came with mine. But you unscrew the one on the old cart unplug that one, plug in the new one, put in the screw and youre done. Working well.

Q: 2. Hi Will this FlexTT5 Transceiver Radio Slave for Nikon fit into the camera hot shoe and then remotely trig the camera from a handhold second one FlexTT5 .

A: he FlexTT5 Transceiver Radio Slave for Nikon can sit in the Cameras hot shoe, and with a remote camera cable you could use it to trigger the camera with a second FlexTT5. If your camera has the 10-Pin connection, you could use the N10-ACC (B&H # WIN90MACND). If your camera has the DC-2 connection, you could use the N-MCDC2-ACC (B&H # WICFTT5ND90).

Q: 3. I am using flextt5 and need to synch with LiteTrek 4.0 DC Monolight . What synch cable do I use? I could guess but don't want to do trial and error approach.

A: You would need a mini to mini sync cable (B&H # IMMMMM16)

Q: 4. will this replace a M12 e/u cartridge on a SLB300 turntable?

A: This cartridge will work fine with your vintage TT.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with the Audio-Technica LP120XUSB turntable?

A: Yes this will fit and play with LP120XUSB turntable with no problems.

Q: 6. Will this cartridge replace my P135S Cartridge for my Technics SL-D20 Turntable? If so, should I purchase the Conical of Elliptical Cartridge?

A: Yes, the Audio-Technica Consumer AT81CP Conical Phonograph Cartridge for P-Mount Turntables can be used as a replacement cartridge and stylus for the Technics SL-D20 Turntable. This conical version as well as the AT85EP Elliptical stylus can both be used. Elliptical will pick up more detail and less distortion due to being able to make contact with a larger groove area on a record's surface, however it also stands to wear down more quickly than a conical stylus.

Q: 7. Does this come fully assembled? Or does it require manual assembly of the headshell and cartridge?

A: The Audio-Technica Consumer VM540ML/H Headshell and Cartridge Combo Kit with VM540ML and AT-HS10BK comes fully assembled and ready to attach to the tone arm on your turntable.

Q: 8. Will this cartridge work for my Technics SL-QD33 Turntable? It came with a DR300E cartridge

A: Yes, a P-mount cartridge will work for that turntable.

Q: 9. Do you sell Pocket Wizard system for the European-marked? I.e. 544 og somthing MHz.

A: No we do not, we only deal in the USA FCC frequency version.

Q: 10. Is this cartridge compatible with Technics SL-1210GR turntable?

A: Yes. This will mount on a SL-1210.

[0.025 lb] I bought it for my guitar gig recording at home, but I really enjoy listening my hifi collection on this.
Great sound and bass is very fast and punchy for a 10x25 loft.
Couldn't be happier with my purchase.
Cheers

[0.025 lb] I don't use these monitors to record. I use these as computer speakers to listen to music, movie and etc. I hook them up with a DAC and use RCA. The sound is very clean (I hear things in my music that I never heard before!) The high and mid are sweet. The bass is ok. I have all setting on flat and vol on 0dB. I control the vol from the DAC. I like these monitors. I listen to the A7X and it sound better, but didn't fit my budget.

[0.025 lb] I needed this product to stream audio from my projector to my stereo. The product itself is nice and small. Plug and play, works perfect right out of the box.

[0.025 lb] From the Universal Audio Website:
The latest UAD software is compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit editions), and all Thunderbolt-equipped Apollo and UAD-2 products (Apollo X series, Apollo 8, Apollo 8p, Apollo 16 MkII, Apollo Twin, Apollo Twin MkII, Apollo Solo, Arrow, UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt, and first-generation silver Apollo/Apollo 16 models equipped with a Thunderbolt Option Card).
That was an easy google, and I wonder why the other reviewer wasn't able or willing to do the same before pulling the trigger on this purchase ... or on his review.

I don't understand people who write reviews in which they reveal not a single fact about the product, and instead just confess to their own lack of research before buying.

The Apollo system has come under a lot of pressure, because the better computers get, the less of a need is for UA's system of handling processing in the interface as opposed to the computer's CPU. UA has responded by making more and more of their famous plugins available natively, so you can now run them in your DAW directly.

Whether or not an Apollo is still your best choice depends on the power of your computer, and on how much you appreciate the design, easy usability and overall elegance of a unit like this.

The price is a powerful argument to consider alternatives, unfortunately.

[0.025 lb] First off, I am not an audio professional but did my undergrad in recording technology so I have a good amount of experience listening to excellent monitors in well-treated rooms. Previous near-field monitors owned include JBL-4326p, Dynaudio BM5A MkII and JBL LSR-305, with the application mainly being audio for video, casual listening and some audio mixing. Being that I am currently set up in an untreated office (something I hope to change soon) I was apprehensive about trying a 2.1 setup since I know a sub can create all kinds of issues in an untreated environment; however this set still performs very well and absolutely is an improvement over my previous monitors in terms of imaging, dynamics and transient response. At first I was a bit put off by the sound of the A5Xs: they came across a bit sterile and lacking any emotion (they are tools first and foremost, after all). This was a bummer since I hoped to do some casual listening on them, but after giving my ears some time to acclimate I am enjoying them much more now, particularly in the high frequencies... very very detailed without the usual fatigue associated with this level of detail. They really provide a crystal clear cutout of each musical element in play, allowing me to hear deep into the mix. The Sub8 sounded pretty disjointed to me at first, but once I dialed in a decent placement and figured out it needed the phase inverted in my case it blends seamlessly with the A5X (with the crossover and monitor high-pass both set at 85Hz). Overall I am very happy with this set and would gladly recommend it. Can't wait to hear what is possible with some room treatment!

[0.025 lb] I bought this for it's thunderbolt connectivity as opposed to the model with usb-C connectivity I had planned on purchasing. It's working phenomenally with no latency issues and I'm loving the recording software, Luna, that is included with the purchase.

[0.025 lb] This is super easy to set up and great at what it’s supposed to do! Who could ask for more?

The sound quality is great too. We are using it in a large space with showcases and walls and bad acoustics yet it’s working great!

We used to use an Apple Airport to connect our Audioengine A5+ speakers and it was always a little finicky and then refused to work. For quite some time I didn't find the proper adapter. I’m so glad I found this one.

Bhphoto was great too! I received it in two days!

I could not be happier.

[0.025 lb] These units transmit & receive very high-quality stereo audio. Setup could not be easier. I use them to send the line-level mix of a set of pro-quality microphones to camcorders at 2 different locations at concerts. Before using them I tested them outside and they worked as far away as I could get (100 feet) with a long power cord. At the concerts the distance is about 50 feet, but the signal has to travel through wood panels and part of the audience. No problem.
