This H&Y HD EVO-Series Black Mist Filter 82mm Grade 1/4from H&Y HD EVO-Series Black Mist Filter 82mm Grade 1/4includes an 82mm, 1/4-grade diffusion black mist filter and an 82mm-threaded magnetic adapter ring. As part of the EVO series, the mist filter has a dual-mount design. It has 82mm threading on the rear and front and can be screwed onto your lens, or it can be attached magnetically using the included magnetic adapter ring. The filter is made with multicoated HD optical glass and features an aluminum filter ring.

A: I agree it would work. I have mounted a Nikon d7000 with 18-105mm lens on it and had no problems. Given the weight and size of the Rode video mic there should be no problem mounting it to this tripod.

A: If one was using the Manfrotto PIXI EVO Mini Tripod, the way you describe, it would be a good idea to figure out how to secure that set up, otherwise the camera could easily fall.

Q: 10. Do I have to buy a quick release plate for this or does it come with one already?

A: No quick release plate; camera mounts directly to the tripod.

[82 mm] I use it with Sigma 18-35 1.8 on BMPCC4K. Earlier I had 'heavier' Black Pro Mist 1, but this 1/4 baby does more delicate job. 5

[Glass] I use this softening filter in certain landscape situations, not necessarily for portraiture. And guess what, that can be lots of fun! I use it with my 105 Nikor micro lens occasionally and can get the most dreamy look, just gorgeous. No kidding. I also have the 77mm size, pro mist 3 for the 70-200 zoom. Really can't tell much difference between the #2 and #3 strength. Get the black version if you don't want some halos around the highlights. I like the halos personally. [82 mm] It's practically the same as the Tiffen one but costs a lot less. It's worth grabbing. The 1/8 is subtle so it's great with coroporate gigs. 5

[Aluminum] Took my photos with my 28-70 to the next level, it now lives on that lens and probably will forever. The 1/4 grade is absolutely perfect for everyday use. Will definitely be looking into different sizes for other lenses. 5
