New scene-recognition circuitry and a higher 25,000:1 contrast ratio improve Dynamic Contrast dramtically. Rich Color Enhancer revitalizes color expression to reproduce artwork accurately. Black-level adjustment evolves to enable seamless blending on curved screens, while Gradation Smoother easily corrects color banding. Content with a 21:9 aspect ratio is also supported.

Gradation Smoother and Detail Clarity Processor resolve imperfections for an overwhelmingly realistic experience. Panasonic’s black-level adjustment can eliminate distracting black-level bumps that can sometimes appear in blends outside of the image display area after geometric adjustment is applied. By unlinking black-level adjustment from geometric adjustment, black-level settings can be applied to the entire blend, including the image overlaps outside the image display area, for a completely seamless multi-screen image.

Single-chip DLP projectors are a popular way to unite on-site and remote teams in hybrid conferencing spaces. The latest video-conferencing software layouts can output a 21:9 signal to an REZ80 projector so that the faces of remote participants appear along the bottom of the screen at eye level with those seated in the room. This promotes natural and fluent communication between members of the group. In addition, with more games, films, documentaries, and other immersive content being produced with a 21:9 aspect ratio, it makes sense to invest in a projector that can deliver a cinematic experience.

The REZ80 features an optical engine and laser light source module compliant with the IP5X Dust Protected (IEC 60529) standard and a refined liquid cooling system that enable up to 20,000 hours of maintenance-free projection. Backup Input switches to a secondary signal to prevent interruptions if the primary is disrupted.

An Intel SDM-ready slot integrates optional proprietary or third-party function boards. These reduce installation complexity and make it easier to adapt, scale, and expand your projector’s connectivity to suit different applications and event-site infrastructure. The projector works with Panasonic’s DIGITAL LINK Terminal Board (TY-SB01DL), 12G-SDI Terminal Board (TY-SB01QS), 12G-SDI Optical Function Board (TY-SB01FB), and Wireless Presentation System PressIT Receiver Board (TY-SB01WP) as well as selected third-party PC boards, terminal boards, and AVoIP boards.

Lightweight, easy to handle, and more compact than previous models, the REZ80 smooths out workflow hassle with a flexible design to fit confined installation spaces. It suits new lenses with powered periphery focus and a wider shift range. Intel SDM-ready slot expands connectivity, while a new sensor enables projection angle display via GUI. Preactivated upgrade kits for Geo Pro and improved black level adjustment save time when mapping on curved screens.

The REZ80 is near the peak of 1-Chip DLP projector evolution with intuitive features that make life easy for integrators and operators, especially at events where setup time is limited. You can use Remote Preview Lite to check content before projection, import custom test patterns, prep for setup without AC power using NFC function, and control and adjust up to 64 projectors from your smartphone.

Q: 5. can it be mounted upside down to a ceiling?

A: The LG CineBeam PU700R 1000-Lumen UHD 4K DLP Smart Projector (B&H # LGPU700R) can technically be used upside-down, but this is not recommended. While upside-down, the projected content would need to be flipped vertically from the source, as this projector does not natively supported an inverted configuration. Additionally, this projector does not have compatible ceiling mount hardware, so any kind of inverted ceiling mounting would need to be a DIY setup, which introduces the risk of damaging the projector.

Q: 6. Is there a way to extend the thin power cable a few meters?

A: The BenQ HT2060 2300-Lumen Full HD LED DLP Home Theater Projector (BH # BEHT2060) has a minimum, optimal focus/throw distance of about 8.35 feet. The closest distance to the screen would be about 5 feet yielding a 60 inch diagonal image.

Q: 10. Can this projector be used pointed straight down or rotated 90deg to project in portrait mode?

[Yes] I have a small AV rental company in Los Angeles.
I bought a pair of these units and I have been very impressed with their quality and power output. The lens options cover a wide range of throw distances. For my customers that cannot afford to pay 2x as much for 10k, these units are a viable option.

[Native: 16:10] I purchased this to install in a traditional style chapel with lots of natural light, and no shutters, blinds, or curtains obstructing the large windows. The projection surface is a wall painted with a bluish-tinted off-white. Even with all these challenges, at roughly 15ft away from the wall I managed to configure the brightness, color, and contrast settings well enough to project a very high quality image with subtle detail clearly visible even from about 50~60ft away from the projection surface. I am very happy with the picture quality and the configuration options that allow fine-tuned adaptability to a very wide range of applications.

[Laser Phosphor] We have used the older Panasonic PT-VMZ50 projector for many years and never been disappointed. So when we needed a second projector, we went with latest version. Not disappointed. Our favorite features are: 1) instant on & off (no need to wait to turn off) 2) bright images in a fully lit room (no need to dim the room lights)

[Yes] Its a brighter version of the 6200Lumen that was very popular. The 1.09 lens makes this projector the shortest throw super bright without the short throw optical issues.

[77 lb] Works very well. Replaced an old Epson with it. Maps that are projected have much better readable type when projected on the screen. Everyone is much happier with this projector because of the clarity and brightness compared to the older projector in our conference room.
