Q: 1. Does this lens extend upon focusing or is it fixed with internal focusing?

A: This lens does not extend as it's an internal focus prime lens.

Q: 2. will this work with the new g mount 100-200

A: Yes, this lens will work with the FUJIFILM G Mount if that is what you are asking. If not, please contact us directly for further assistance. prophoto@bhphoto.com

Q: 3. This has a very useful focal range. Some lenses are well known for sharpness, how, would you rate this one?

A: The FUJIFILM GF 100-200mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR Lens with Lens Care Kit has a decent level of sharpness but you will get sharper images with Fugifilm prime lenses.

Q: 4. Does this lens change its length by extending when zooming?

A: This lens does not change length when zooming or focusing.

Q: 5. what is the focal length of the lens when shifted to the max? the specs says +/- 15mm, does it mean it becomes a GF 15mm lens?

[1' / 30 cm] I expected the GF 30mm f3.5 R WR lens would be heavy and make my GFX 50r and 100 front heavy but the lens is surprisingly light and balanced! I have been shooting with my copy for about thirty days. The lens is incredible. I shoot fashion and editorial and need distortion free wide perspectives from time to time and this lens along with my GF 45 and 63 give me great latitude!!!

[0.21x] I have been dreaming about this lens since I started shooting with the GFX50S. I am an architectural photographer, and even though the 23mm lens is out of this world, it's just a bit too wide for regular interior photography (I use it mostly for real estate shoots); while the 32-64mm zoom has a bit of distortion, and it's quite heavy. This new 30mm is a dream come true, it's as sharp as the 23mm, a bit sharper than the 32-64mm and a bit wider (84.7°), and it has negligible distortion. Add the incredible clarity and contrast, and the pictures look alive. AF is super fast and accurate. I did not encounter any lens flare or chromatic aberration. The lens is also so light (510g), making it such a joy to carry around. All in all, another fantastic lens from Fuji, and super fast service from B&H. Now let's get busy shooting.

[0.21x] My favorite 24mm view. This lens is sharp and fast enough for my style of shooting. Excellent clarity and color.

[0.21x] I recently added this lens to my collection for the GFX 100. Having used it on two shoots, I can report that its dead on clear. I would not hesitate to purchase this lens if your in need of a lens that's not as wide as the 23mm.

[Removable] Its easy to pack and over all a very useful side angle. These fixed GF lens do not disappoint.

[FUJIFILM G] I had some hesitation on this lens after a few less than stellar reviews. One mentioning a flare issue, and another seemed like there was little reason for it. Well I can tell you, they either had a faulty lens, or just didn't get it. I considered the GF23mm but know that the wider or more telephoto a lens gets, the less it ends up getting used by me. (YMMV) I needed a wide angle for landscape/cityscape to go with my GF45-100mm, and GF100-200mm. This GF30mm hit the spot. If I need wider, I can just pan a bit, and take another shot to stitch. You can't make a wider shot narrower without cropping and losing resolution. The GF23mm is heavier, wider, and more expensive, and the GF20-35mm has more distortion. The sharpness on this 30mm prime is exceptional, on par with the GF45mm. You can shoot landscape, architectural, fashion, or street with it. It's got negligible, easily correctable distortion, less than the other wide options for the GFX system. It's also nice because it tends to not suffer from diffraction issues and stays sharp as a razor until after f/20. That's pretty impressive. I use it mostly at f/8-f/16. but it's nice to know I can push it a bit if I need to. I prefer focus stacking rather than stopping down to f/22 for ultimate quality. The focus is quiet, quick, and precise, and this lens is light to carry. No worries there. The 45-100mm on the other hand is a chunk to bring with me. I'll hit that in it's own review. No worries with this lens though, it's performing admirably. Definitely a workhorse. Happy shooting!

[Manual Focus] This is a beautifully built lens, much lighter than expected that balances nicely on all of the GFX bodies. Wonderful image quality with the ability to close very close.

[5.41 lb] I bought this lens to complete my landscape photography kit: GFX50R, GF45mm f/2.8, GF100-200 f/5.6. The lens is solidly built and quite light -- it feels very similar to the GF45mm f/2.8. The image quality is excellent - sharp across the field even wide open, no perceptible vignetting or chromatic aberration (given I did not test without in-camera correction). Comparing this to my other GF lenses -- the GF45mm looks very slightly sharper with slightly more contrast, although this is an extremely high bar. Overall, excellent lens and highly recommended.

[0.21x] I've only had a couple of days shooting with the lens, so this is somewhat provisional, but the photos I shot were nice and clear and I have no issues with the lens whatever.

I'm happy.
