Build your own custom case or enclosure with the Tiptop Audio Z-Rails, a pair of black, 84 HP mounting rails for the Eurorack modular synthesizer format, designed to be used for professional and DIY case mounting assemblies.

Z-Rails are made from anodized rails, each containing a zinc-plated metal threaded strip with 3mm threads at 5.08mm spacing. The rails are easily installed using Z-Ears or Z-Rail Brackets (sold separately). The rails can also attach directly to any frame with just two M4 screws, one for each side of the individual Z-Rail. The M4 screws are not included as they are size dependent on the thickness of the material the rails will be attached to. M4 screws are included with Z-Ears and Z-Rails Brackets.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you screw in an adapter to allow this unit to accommodate either a IPAD or smart phone?

A: Hi Harvey, This light stand has a /4"-20 threaded top which can accommodate an adapter which can hold a smartphone or tablet. Just make sure the adapter has 1/4"-20 threads.

Q: 2. Are the locking clips of your in-stock products attached to the lid or the case? All the newer stock skb cases have lid mounted ones, but the ones in your photos are case mounted

A: Thank you for your question. The current version of the case does have clips mounted to the lid. We will have the pictures updated shortly. Thank you

Q: 3. Does it have a cover for both front and back?

A: Yes, this rack case has latching covers on front and back. It also has rails on both front and back.

Q: 4. Can this hold an Arri 650?

A: Although this Impact stand is not strong enough the Arri 65 Fresnel, the Impact Heavy-Duty Air-Cushioned Light Stand (Black, 9.5'), BH # IMLS96HABI would be more suitable. https://bhpho.to/3c1rNuO

Q: 5. can i screw a vidpro led-330x on the pin?

A: Im not really sure, sorry.

Q: 6. Will this stack on top of an SKB 6U Roto Rolling Rack Case?

A: Yes the SKB 6U Roto Rolling Rack Case is compatible with SKB standard and shallow rack cases like the SKB 6U Roto Shallow Rack Case.

Q: 7. If I get two of these updated shallow racks, will they stack perfectly on top of each other? Thanks.

A: Yes! SKB - Outstanding Cases. We use Two of these, stacked, for our Mobile Video Broadcast Studio. Manageable. Top Rack: - 1U Furman PL-PLUS DMC Power Conditioner with Voltmeter / AMMeter. - 1U BMD HyperDeck Studio Pro 2- 2U (4) Rack Fans - constant temperature monitoring. - 2U ATEM 2 M/E Production Studio 4K Bottom Rack: - 1U Furman Power Conditioner - 2U Intel NUC & Decimator MD-HX Converter- 2U DataVideo DAC-70 Converters- 1U Gefen Audio Video Multi-Format Processor EXT-MFP. And a third Case for Audio (Focusrite mixer) & CAT6 Network (2 Switches & Router). All sitting on a flat folding, 4 wheel dolly. And plugged into a CyberPower UPS, when running. More than you asked... Hope this helps!

Q: 8. Is this style enough to hold a 30" umbrella plus speed lite?

A: The Impact Light Stand, Black (6') has a maximum load capacity of 4 lbs. While you did not list the brand/model speedlight you own, using the Canon Speedlite 600EX II-RT, the Impact 30" Convertible Umbrella, and the Impact Deluxe Umbrella Mount with Adjustable Shoe as an example, the combined weight would be approximately 2.94 lbs. It would be more than strong enough to support the weight of a flash, umbrella, and umbrella bracket. However, for safety purposes (especially for use outdoors), I would also recommend using a sandbag on the base of the light stand as extra ballast (such as the Impact Filled Saddle Sandbag (15 lb, Black), B&H # IMSBFB15).

Q: 9. Do these rails take standard 10-32 screws?

A: Yes, the rack mounting holes on the rails in the SKB 3U Roto Shallow Rack Case with Steel Rails accept standard 10-32 rack screws.

Q: 10. Does it come with screws that fit the rails?

A: Yes

[Black] Needed a 3RU piece for travel and this fits the bill very well!

[Black] And the feet are definitely rubber. Loading ANY rack, even with just 1 piece of gear, and then setting it on a leather chair like another reviewer did is just asking for trouble. Most chairs, especially nice leather ones, are sloped down towards the front. Anyway, great rack. Perfect for a guitarist with a minimalist setup. An extra plus, and the main reason I got it, is that the rails are recessed about an inch, so most knobs and switches aren't sticking out beyond the front edges. This gives mounted gear an extra measure of protection in case it topples over and falls on its face. ;)

[0.635 lb] I got this to house a wireless receiver, mixer, and power distribution unit. It works very well. I also put a drawer in the bottom to hold cables, batteries, etc.

[Black] I'm using this case with a BMD switcher and hyper deck studio. It's a prefect depth for these shallow components and their cords. The latches seem well made, and the handles feel like they will hold up well with normal use. The steel rails are well mounted in the case. I plan to stack a couple of these rather than buy a single larger case.

[0.635 lb] Sturdy, protective, and everything I expected. Has rails on both sides. This thing is solid. I had to muscle the included rack screws carefully by hand due to the fresh coat of paint on the screws and rails. Once they had been fully inserted and the threads were broken in they began to glide in and out with an electric drill or by hand just as they should. Just be careful the first time in because it's all brand new. Great product; I'd buy it again. Best case right here if you're not in the market for a wood+aluminum road case.
