Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the threaded connection on the bottom 5/8" ? I didn't see it listed on the product page.

A: the bottom of this boom arm is designed to fit into an existing mic stand, the 5/8" thread listed is at the top on the boom arm, to allow for industry standard a mic clip/holder for a microphone.

Q: 2. Are replacement parts available for this boom arm? Mine fell when it was too windy onto a bridge's railing and the screw holding the boom arm to the 5/8" stud was stripped.

A: You will have to contact Impact for replacement parts; Distributed By - Gradus Group LLCTel: (212) 594-2353 Website http://www.impactstudiolighting.com/ Email cs@gradusgroup.com

Q: 3. Can I change the spigot on this boom?

A: Its not user replaceable

Q: 4. how much weight will this item hold ?

A: Not sure what the limits are but I have a 8lbs light and 55 inch octabox and it holds well at 45degrees extended 2/3 out and 1/3 on the counterweight (2 sandbags). YMMV.I''m more wary of the vertical light stand stud that this sits on.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with the Small Hd Focus 7 arm?

A: Yes, the SmallHD Pan Module for Tilt Arm could work with the SmallHD Focus 7 arm. However, the extra weight may cause some issue for example if you have a 702 with batteries, it's going to be difficult to prevent unwanted spin because of the weight.

Q: 6. Is the cup holder optional/removable?

A: The cup and headphone holder that is attached to the desk clamp for the JOBY Wavo Boom Arm is held in place by three Allen screws. We have not tried to remove it, but it does look like it can be removed with an Allen key.

Q: 7. What is the diameter of the flange mount?

A: We have requested this information from the manufacturer but accurate measurements are not readily available. We will post the details once we receive them.

Q: 8. Can I attach a bowen mount to this?

A: A Bowens monolight can attach via its stand adapter to the 5/8" stud on the end of this boom.

Q: 9. Will this be able to support the weight of a "Shure SM7B" (1.69 lb / 766.57 g)?

A: Yes; this boom arm, placed on a stand includes a counter weitht, which will balane an SM7B, no problem.

Q: 10. I already have the Kupo C-stand with Turtle Base, the steel baby boom arm and the grip head. However, I like the idea of the Kupo Pivoting Boom Arm Clamp. I am having trouble, from the singular image, how it will actually works with the boom arm. It might seem like a silly question, but how does the pole fit into it? Or, is this accessory for another type of boom arm? Thanks for your time!!

A: The riser from a C stand is inserted in the tube that you see in the top of the image of this product. Then you twist the handle on top to tighten it in place. So, this product basically allows you to use a C stand riser as a super-sturdy boom arm.

[1.935 lb] I bought this to add pieces to the F9 Bracket Package I bought. The F9 attaches to the Wimberley Head, with this piece and one other I can use pieces from the F9 to attach the bracket to the Wimberley plate for off tripod use. It works fine. Cons, its Wimberley and it is pircey

[Metal] Got it in the bundle along with the Roland TD11K e-drum. Dual chain makes it a bit more stable and it comes with a drum key attached to it. I'm no drum expert, so this is as far as I'll go.

[1.935 lb] Adds a very useful feature especially when mounting the monitor off camera.

FYI-- pan tension is adjustable by varying the torque of the three screws in the bottom of the thin middle plate. (remove camera shoe adapter to reveal the screws)

[Chrome] This drum pad is exactly what I was looking for. I knew it wasn’t capable of programming different kits but wanted it for extra sounds to add to my acoustic drum kit. I played it with a choir for a song and people really liked the sound being played through a small powered speaker. Had the ride, tom, snare and kick setup and it really went well with the song. I haven’t noticed any cross talk but if the drum stick is too close to parallel you can hit two pads at the same time with the tip and shaft of the the drum stick. Great for practice with headphones. My nephew had a blast playing the cowbell and other tones while his dad and I jammed. Might need to get him one for Christmas. The adjustability with tuning and reverb gives more options to try to match pitch and ambiance. The sensitivity setting works but is not fabulous. Have not tried hooking it up to my computer yet but imagine it would work well. I would recommend this for someone looking for something to practice on or just play around with. I sawed the top off of a cheap music stand that I got for free and the mount plate slides over it perfectly with just a little bit of duct tape so it holds firm. Can’t angle it but I can adjust the height. For the price this drum pad is totally worth it. If you are more serious about performing live you’ll probably want something more versatile but this works perfect as it is intended.
