The 10-stop, 72mm Haida PROII ND Filter 72mm 10-Stop Multicoatedfrom Haida PROII ND Filter 72mm 10-Stop Multicoateddarkens your image and allows you to better manipulate shutter speed and exposure. Its 3.0 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time, you can create images with motion blur or by opening up your aperture to create shallow depth of field. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters. This neutral density filter is constructed from glass and features an aluminum-alloy filter ring for durability while remaining lightweight.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. At 15mm, is there a risk of the ND filter touching/scraping the rear lens elements of the actual lens itself? The lens sticks out at the end.

A: The filters in the Haida Rear Lens ND Filter Kit for Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD Lens (Canon EF) do not touch the rear element of the lens.

Q: 2. Is it compatible with the Canon EF 16-35mm III? What about the 24-105mm II?

A: This is not compatible with either lens . Please look under "key features" to see which lenses are compatible .

Q: 3. Can the adapter ring be left in place on the back of the lens if no ND filters are being used? Does the thickness from electronic contacts to the camera change thereby affecting image quality?

A: The filter holder for this Rear Lens ND Filter Kit can be left on the lens and would have no effect on the image quality.

Q: 4. Do these filters workj on FE mount version on this lens?

A: No, they do not.

Q: 5. On a tripod, if I acquire focus, then unmount the lens, put the 10stop filter in, re-mount the lens... will the camera regain focus where it was.... or will I somehow now need to refocus through the 10stop filter? If I do need to refocus through the filter, has anyone had any success focusing through a 10 stop filter on a mirrorless camera?

A: It would best to pre-focus the shot then record the focus settings as you may need to re-focus the shot once the filter is attached.

Q: 6. Hello, Are the ring adaptatif and the screwdriver incluses un the kit? Thanks.

A: According to the manufacturer, yes, the screwdriver is included with the purchase of the Haida Rear Lens ND Filter Kit for Select Canon EF Lenses.

Q: 7. What is the Stop value of the 4 different filters ? Please help. Thanks

A: The ND filters are ND 0.9, 1.2, 1.8, and 3.0, which amount to 3, 4, 6, and 10-stops respectively. For a beginner's guide to ND filters and the different nomenclatures brands might use, see this B&H Explora guide: https://bhpho.to/3jKaap2

Q: 8. Would this work with ef mount wide angle prime lens such as rokinon 14mm?

A: I'm sorry, no, it is not compatible with the Rokinon 14mm.

Q: 9. Does the kit come with the rear filter holder adapter or does this need to be purchased separately?

A: They are compatible with the rear filter slit on the Sony 12-24 f4 lens. So no holder is needed.

Q: 10. will this fit the 12-24mm 2.8 GM lens?

A: No, the Haida Rear Lens ND Filter Kit for Sony FE 12-24mm f/4.0 G Lens would not be compatible for use with the Sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM Lens. Instead, the Haida Rear Lens ND Filter Kit (ND0.9+1.2+1.8+3.0) for Sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM Lens and 14mm f/1.8 GM Lens, B&H # HAHD4641, would be recommended for use with the Sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM Lens.

[0.165 lb] Works well. Just remember that if you are focusing through the lens, do it before you put on the filter. Once the filter is attached there is nothing but black in the viewfinder.

[72 mm] Not too expensive, good fit. Good for shooting video at the sun early morning/late afternoon without having to stop down too much.

[Solid ND] Very thin and high quality construction. Image sharpness was not affected on my Sony a7riii and 100-400 GM. No color cast whatsoever. I took pictures of my Xrite Color Checker with and without the filter, and there is no visible difference between the 2 profiles.

[Solid ND] I have found that the 29mmx29mm IRIX Edge Gelatin Neutral Density filters fit the rear filter holder on my Canon - EF 11-24mm f/4 L USM Wide Angle Zoom Lens quite nicely.

[72 mm] I did a lot of research before deciding on Haida's filter set. The Haida filters are top quality at a slightly affordable price. I would highly recommend the Haida filter to other users.

[72 mm] For the price, the function is adequate and it saves a lot of space and time.

[Aluminum] I have 3 of the 4 Irix cinema lenses and their brand matching 3-stop filter is a perfect match, along with the cost compared to other brands. A nice even ND, just what I need to 'take the edge' off bright sunlight shots where I want to increase depth of field.

[Aluminum] I have used many 10 stop ND's in the past and settled on a B&W but was never really thrilled with it. There was always something about the images that bugged me. I decided to test it , alone and then in front of a polarizer , each time I noticed a pretty noticeable drop in sharpness, especially fine detail smearing. Considering the cost of it this shouldn't be happening.
So I searched for a new one and found an intense review of 10 stop ND's and the Haida Nanopro MC ND 10 stop was part of it. It came out on top along side one other, but with the price of this filter it was a no brainer to buy and test out. I ordered it from B&H and tested it right away. Straight Image, Image with the ND, and Image with both the ND and a Nikon Circular polarizer behind the ND. NO difference in sharpness, ZERO. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the 3 , even at 100% zoom and beyond.
I tested it on Modern AI lenses, and Vintage Nikkor S and H lenses with single coatings all tested with the same result. No color cast either.
I went out with the Haida ND and the Nikon Polarizer and shot outside, long exposure with foliage and water. Same result. Sharp sharp sharp. All on a D810 in Bulb/Mirror up.
Haida has just won a customer for life.

[Aluminum] This is a great idea of having these attached together! be warned it'll take some practice to effectively use the polarizer.

[Aluminum] Yeah not sure what that other guy is on about. This isn’t a perfect CPL but it’s not supposed to be. It just allows you to adjust the natural polarizing effect of a VND, not fully remove reflections. Anyways, it’s well built, a breeze to use, has minimal tint/color-shift and very little artifacting. My favorite VND I’ve ever used
