The satin nickel M 940 Studio Condenser Microphone with EA 93 Shockmount from Microtech Gefell M 940 Supercardioid Studio Mic EA 93 Mountis a supercardioid microphone that combines a large-diaphragm capsule with semi-conductor circuit technology. It can be used to capture audio in broadcast, project, home, and professional studios and is well suited for use on a wide range of sources including singers, speakers, keyboards, strings, wind instruments, and more.

The condenser microphone capsule delivers a smooth frequency response from 40 Hz to 20 kHz with a slight elevation from 7 to 11 kHz for additional presence. Its supercardioid polar pattern focuses audio capture narrowly in front of the microphone, picking up less bleed from other instruments and on-stage monitors and helping to substantially reduce feedback when sound reinforcement equipment is used. The transformerless circuit design provides for very-low self-noise for clean, distortion-free sound over a wide dynamic range. To reduce sensitivity to mechanical impact and structure borne noise, the microphone capsule and electronics are elastically suspended inside the compact metal housing. The included EA 93 shockmount helps to further isolate the mic from vibrations and handling noise.

Q: 1. Can I use this shock mount with either the Blue Encore 200 or the Rode M3?

A: Compatibility:For smaller diameter microphones such as pencil-style condenser mics, most dynamic or condenser handheld mics and some cylindrical shaped ribbon mics. Both mics should work with this mount.

Q: 2. Can I connect this to my phone using bluetooth?

A: No, the Tascam TASCAM TM-250U Supercardioid USB Type-C Condenser Microphone requires USB to supply power.

Q: 3. Will this fit my Behringer B2 Pro?

A: No, the Behinger B2 Pro Large Diaphragm Microphone has a diameter of 56mm and the On-Stage MY410 Studio Microphone Shock Mount is for use with microphones that have a diameter of 42 to 48mm. A compatible model is the On-Stage MY430 Shock Mount for Select Studio Microphones (B&H # ONMY430) which is designed to fit mics that have a diameter of 55 to 60mm.

Q: 4. Do you recommend this Shock Mount for the Rode NT-USB?

A: This shock mount will not accommodate the Rode NT-USB, because the diameter of the mic is too large. The appropriate shock mount for the Rode NT-USB is the Rode SMR Advanced Shock Mount for Large Diaphragm Condenser Mics, BH #ROSMRASM.

Q: 5. I bought this product and works well as a microphone with iPhone. However till I unplug it the iPhone speaker is disabled so can’t hear playback. Anyway around this?

A: When any output device is connected to iOS, the built-in speaker is disabled. This is similar to when headphones are connected to your iOS device. Unfortunately, this is not not behavior which can be altered at this time, but we do hope Apple changes this in the future.

[Supercardioid] Let me try to break this down as short as I can. I had been saving and dreaming of acquiring a u87ai for years. Recently I had clients not pleased with the colorization my mojave audio 201 fet mic was giving my vocals for narration duties. So I started thinking of buying a tlm 103 after having returned it a year ago because it was just to harsh for my voice. Although it was silky and extremely detailed, It just was to sibilant for me and sounded harsh in the higher frequencies for me. So researching I came across Gefell and how it is actually the Neumann family still in charge of Gefell while modern Neumann mics are made by senheisser. So I took a chance, and ordered the m930. Wow oh wow. It takes the best of the tlm 103 and does it even better. It's just as silky, and much more pleasing. I think of it actually closer to the u87ai but without the boxy midrange that mic is notorious for. It sits between the u87ai and tlm 103, but sits closer to the u87ai. I think my u87ai desires have been put to rest with the m930. It's so clean, clear, and silky. My voice has a lot of natural color, so the m930 works wonderful not adding any more and actually makes my voice sound much more pleasing. I wish I would've gotten this mic sooner when I first started doing voice work. It's compact, with a big open natural sound. I'm extremely happy with my purchase.

[Mono] Got while it was 40% off - great sound. Much preferred over the TLM 102/103. It's super sensitive to plosives/handling noise - so that's been a learning curve but I am very happy I made the investment.

[Mono] In other words, excellent! Outstanding! I went back and forth between this mic and Neumann U87, having tried the TLM 103 in a similar price range and having been disappointed with the 103's tinny and thin response. If you're looking for a vocal mic, look no further. At half the price (or less) of a U87, you can have an authentic German large diaphragm cardioid condenser mic that is extremely quiet, with beautiful, buttery sound, and which is very forgiving and much more compact then the U87 form factor. I use this mike in a whisper room sound booth, primarily for voiceover and I can tell you the difference I am hearing, even between my trusty, industry stalwart 416: the noise floor is lower, with less detectable mouth sounds, and it feels like the dynamic range is greater than the short shotgun, with absolutely no boomy booth sound. I'm in love with this mike and I think you will be too.

[Mono] I am using this for speech in HAM radio transmissions. My shack' is hard-surfaced and I got reports about a tin-can sound. I went with the e845 because of the 'popular price' and supercardioid polar pattern useful to reduce this effect. It worked! Of course mic-to-mouth positioning becomes more important. The net result for me is that I am getting many favorable 'signal reports' from HAMs I speak with. Several have asked about the mic and have ordered one for themselves. BTW, this replaced a Shure SM7B, and the e845 has worked better for my application. Less EQ is needed to get a balanced sound for my voice (actually, no EQ at all is working). Specifically the e845 is plugged into a Kenwood TS-590SG HF transceiver. Very happy with the e845.

[Nickel] This microphone and its sibling are excellent quality in the pricing sweet spot. Events are better with good acoustics which begin with a good mic.
