Q: 1. What is the primary difference between this and the "non-pro" lenses. Is the glass the same, but different ring controls?

A: The Panasonic Lumix S PRO 16-35mm f/4 Lens would be the only 16-35mm lens designed for the Leica L-mount lens mount. The closest lens options to the above lens would be the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens for Leica L, B&H # SI142428L, or the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Leica L, B&H # SI185028DCLM. The main difference between the above lens is the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens for Leica L would be wider and would be twice as bright as it has a constant f/2.8 aperture. Both the Panasonic and Sigma lens are considered professional lenses from the respective manufacturers. The Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Leica L would be a more economically-priced lens. It has a brighter aperture with a constant f/2.8 aperture and it has a longer optical zoom range, but the optical image quality would not quite be on par as the image quality from the professional lens options listed above. Build quality and optical performance would be main differences between "professional" lenses and standard or entry-level lenses.

Q: 2. What is the point of this lens? Wouldn't it make sense for it to be f1.2 or even f1.0 for the price?

A: compering to other 50mm 1.4, this lens has Optical Design 13 Elements in 11 Groups vs (nikon 50mm 1.4 ) 8 Elements in 7 Groups vs ( canon ef 50mm 1.2 ) 8 Elements in 6 Groups , Diaphragm Blades 11, Rounded , vs 9, Rounded , vs 8, Rounded that what makes this lens so good

Q: 3. Does it works on Leica SL2?

A: This does work on a Leica SL.

Q: 4. Does the 100mm filter holder for Olympus 7-14mm lens take a CPL?

A: Yes you can use for example the Kase 100 x 100mm Skyeye CPL Filter BH #KASECPL44

Q: 5. Does this lens have a static rear lens element at the mount for better weather sealing?

A: No, the rear element of the Panasonic Lumix S PRO 16-35mm f/4 Lens retracts inside the lens barrel, therefore we recomend keeping the rear cap on if the lens is not mounted on the camera.

Q: 6. Does the tripod collar also have a 1/4x20 screw hole?

A: Yes, the tripod collar has a 1/4" mounting thread.

Q: 7. What filters can I use with this?

A: The NiSi 100mm Filter Holder can use any 100x100mm or 100x150mm filter that is 2mm thick. Since many people use the 7-14mm lens for landscapes, a common filter to use is a graduated neutral density filter to balance the exposure between the ground and the sky. Please take a look at the following link: https://bhpho.to/3jiNnzt

Q: 8. Where is the lens made?

A: This lens from B&H is made in Japan.

Q: 9. Will the lens hood for the Lumix 100-400 Telephoto fit using this filter?

A: Yes, it will fit.

Q: 10. I'm intrigued by many raving reviews on the image quality this lens can produce. I noted that the official description stated improved auto focus performance. I wonder if the statement applicable to continuous autofocus for video. Particularly on S5, S1, S1H bodies, and compared to Lumix 50mm/f1.8 lens? If the solid improvement exists, many will opt for getting this lens, for this reason alone.

A: The Panasonic Lumix S PRO 50mm f/1.4 Lens has two focus motors - linear and stepping - which allow it to achieve fast focusing for both still photography and video recording usage needs and would have substantial performance increase in comparison to the Panasonic Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 Lens.

[62 mm] The is a well made UV filter that appears to be completely transparent without any alteration of acquired images.

[4.5 x 4.5 x 1"] Needed something to protect my investment on my Canon CN-E 35mm T1.5 lens and even Canon doesn't make a protect filter that size so I had to go with the next best option, this. It seems to work out pretty well and I haven't noticed a drop in sharpness. You can also thread a lens hood onto it which is what I do. It is expensive but work it on a very pricey piece of glass.

[Brass] I switched to Polar Pro for all of my filter needs. Top quality glass. The only thing I do not like about all of Polar Pro lenses is the Gold Color of the knurl knob.

[UV] The Armor filter line adds a very strong protection for the camera lens. Good build quality for the value.

[62 mm] I bought this NiSi 77mm PRO Protection Filter based on the review by Nasim Mansurov (of Photography Life website) instead of purchasing the Nikon 77mm NC filter because of some reviewers stating that the Nikon glass separates from the filter ring and there is no warranty by Nikon on lens filters. Using the Nikon Z9 Mirrorless Camera with FTZ II Adapter and the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR Lens with the NiSi 77mm PRO Protection Filter, the Z9 capture images with great clarity and also provide protection to my Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 Lens. Attached are the images I took on the 2 red cars of my neighbour to show the optical performance of this Nisi Protection filter. I would buy more of this protective filter for my other Nikon lenses.

[0.22 lb] I'm a beach photography, the biggest reason I use this uv filter is to protect the ocean spray on my lenses, salt water would definitely destroy any coating in the long run, so having a uv filter added the extra life to my lenses. And this uv is clear as if nothing is attaching to my lenses.
Great nisi 95mm pro uv filter!
