It also excels in low light, making it useful for night photography. Light and portable at 10.9 oz, it comes with a 52mm filter thread for additional light-shaping capability. Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this lens fit a Mark 5D iii specifically?

A: The TTArtisan 50mm f/1.2 Lens for Canon EF-M (Black) does not work with a Canon 5D Mark III. This lens has an EF-M mount, while the 5D Mark III has an EF mount. They are not compatible.

Q: 2. Can I use this lens in a Sony ar7II? I now it wont cover the full frame, but I wonder hao much coverage this lens would have. Thank you

A: You can use this lens in crop mode on the A7R II.

Q: 3. Will this lens work for Fujifilm XT-200?

A: Yes. The following lens is based on a X mount system.

Q: 4. Can you please confirm the filter thread size? Is it 52mm, as appears to be shown on one of the photos?

A: Yes. It is a 52mm thread.

Q: 5. Does it come with a hood?

A: No, TTArtisan 50mm f/1.2 Lens for FUJIFILM X is not provided with a lens hood in the box. You only get the screw-in metal cap and rear cap for the lens.

Q: 6. I know I need to double the f-stop and focal length to get the actual lens's specs. So, is this basically a 100mm f/2.4 lens?

A: The TTArtisan 50mm f/1.2 Lens for Micro Four Thirds would be 100mm f/1.8 equivalent to full frame.

Q: 7. Will it work well with the 80D?

A: I only have FF cameras and am very happy with the 50 1.2. On your 80D will be equivalent to a 80mm which is a great portrait range. Also the 80D has microadjustment on the AF which can help fine tune focus at 1.2 if it is off. If you've never shot with a fixed lens like this before there is always the 1.8 version to start out with and save some cash. If $ is not an issue then jump into the 1.2 and put it to use.

Q: 8. I have a 7D Mark II and a 7D, both with the 1.6 crop sensor. This lens says made specifically for full - frame cameras. What, if anything, will I give up using it on the 7D Mark II? I do realize this 50 mm becomes more like an 80 mm on my camera, but that line, Made specifically for a full-frame sensor seems to need a little clarification before spending over a grand on a lens.

A: All Canon EF lenses may be used on all Canon EOS cameras, as all Canon EOS cameras (35mm film and DSLR) manufactured since 1987 all use the standard EF lens mount (with the red dot on the lens mount), including APS-C sensor cameras. There is no issue with using full-frame EF lenses on APS-C sensor cameras, as the imaging circle is large enough to fully cover the sensor. As you indicated, the only effect would be the smaller sensor size would only display a smaller portion of the lens, and requires you to multiply the focal length by 1.6x to find the full-frame equivalent angle of view. In the case of the 50mm f/1.2L lens, it would have the crop of an 80mm lens, as 50mm x 1.6 = 80mm.

Q: 9. Do I need a new focusing screen for my camera (either 6D or 5D Mark II) to be used with this lens? I read online that the focusing screen that comes with either camera may not be sufficient to handle the f1.2 aperture

A: No, if you are trying to focus with such precision you should be using Live View anyway as that allows you to do 10x digital zoom on the back panel LCD. For typical usage the viewfinder with the stock focus screen will be fine.

Q: 10. Can you please recommend a seamless 0.8 pitch lens gear for this lens?

A: The Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM Lens is approxemelty 85.8mm diameter. This focus gear is 0.8 pitch and is for lenses that are 85-87mm, https://bhpho.to/3AGlcnI

[Full-Frame] Works very well for getting into tight spaces. The lens is fairly sharp - not the sharpest, but offers good value in terms of probe lenses.

F40 requires a ton of light. You'll also want a motorized rig of sorts for any movement as the macro lens is very sensitive to small bumps.

All in all - good value compared to the Laowa. Only down side is it an APS-C lens, so you'll get some crop when on a full frame lens.

[f/16] I had tried simpler Lensbaby lenses but never really liked the basic ones because they were too fidgety. I suppose the composer pro might have improved results, but this is a far superior product for roughly the same money.

[50mm] Short and Sweet....At first I was skeptical. I have been a Photographer for 35 years BUT in the last 20 years I STEPPED IT UP. I have invested in many lenses and realized I only needed half of them. I wish I knew about this lens sooner, long story short you get a LOT OF BANG FOR THE BUCK with this lens. My camera body is black and the Yongnou 50mm f/1.8 lens I bought is white. I now consider myself a professional photographer and been told a couple of times by other photographers that they LOVE the white lens on a black body. The Yongnou 50mm f/1.8 lens works really well with my Canon 80D and creates GREAT BOKEH...ENJOY

[f/16] This was love at first sight. A fantastic lens that solves my tasks. If I were to describe how lenses work, I can only say: turn ordinary binoculars and look through them. Shows a wide-angle picture with options for taking Micro pictures.
With best regards. Karl A. Allan

[Canon EF-M] The quality of this lens is a amazing very crisp imagery. I use it on my lumix G7 for video content. Super sharp quality for the asking price.

[Manual Focus] I didn't buy this lens for its quality optics or its sexy looks, I bought it for a creative project I'm shooting in black-and-white square format. The 1:1 crop factor moots any minor issues with edge sharpness and vignetting. The pancake design makes it easy to carry around and unobtrusive in public places. Manual focus is required, but practically everything is in focus when set to infinity. I'm using it paired with my Fujifilm X-T5 and the results are stunning. The absurdity of putting a $90 lens on a $1,700 camera and making art is very satisfying, indeed!

[31.2°] It's small, features a hot shoe mount, and testing it against 3 other light meters I trust it very well calibrated out of the box. BTW charging time with a 2 amp wall wart via USB-C is about 40 minutes. However you will want to put on some readers and actually read the instruction manual because the controls are not intuitive.

[Full-Frame] Sharp, very little vignetting, simple to use, and Fun! Set camera to shoot without lens & Aperture Priority. Focus (use visual focus aid if you want), use auto ISO or manual ISO. I use the AstrHori 27mm f2.8 on a Fuji X-A1. I view the pictures via HDMI on a large screen TV.
Use the above settings, and you can easily concentrate on the Subject & the Composition. Set aspect to 3:1, or to 1:1 for Fun!
