[Aluminum] I loooooooooove this light. This is my main go to light for ANY situation. I used this light to film a three part docu series. I only used it at 20%.

[Proprietary] I bought my first kit at full price. When I saw the 50% off sale, I jumped on it and bought 2 more kits. These are amazing value and create a gorgeous light bounce!

[Proprietary] When there's little room to maneuver, but you need light in a location, these are extremely handy. I use them for accents or when doing tabletop work.

[Proprietary] Excellent light with good output. I've followed Gagger & Gear tip and bought the Nanlite FL-20G Fresnel for it. Now its my favorite light to use in every shoot.

[Proprietary] As much as I would've loved to go with the Aputure B7c (for Sidus Link convenience with my other lights) for my battery-powered practical bulb solution I could not bring myself to accept how ugly it looks when installed in a lamp due to its mediocre bulb coverage resulting in a lack of illumination from the bottom half which looks unnatural. Incandescent bulbs are still king but I don't enjoy having to deal with a dimmer, heat, etc.

The Godox C7R is what the Aputure B7c should've been. Fuller bulb coverage so it actually looks pleasing when installed in a lamp (even WITHOUT the cup bouncer). It's also slightly brighter as well. And I'm glad that Godox is offering a non-internal battery version (C10R) as well for even greater brightness.

The only thing I can nitpick is the shape of the housing itself - its rather large shape (particularly the bottom half due to vents) prohibits it from physically screwing into certain lamps that have a narrow pathway to the socket. The B7c shares this same problem as well. The Astera NYX wins in this regard.

Just for context the reason why I'm comparing the two is because for the longest time the Aputure B7c was the only option for battery-powered practical LED bulbs. I'm no brand snob - I own a mixture of Aputure/Amaran, Nanlite, Godox, etc. It just happens to be that Godox did it better here.

But all in all I'm happy with this light.
