With high-performance specs and low RFI susceptibility, this matched pair of dark bronze Microtech Gefell M 930 Ts microphones provides two transformer-coupled cardioid condenser mics well suited for demanding broadcast and studio recording of speech, vocals, and varied instruments. The large-diaphragm capsule is elastically suspended to inhibit vibration noise, allowing the M 930 Ts to produce excellent detail for low-level signals as well as distortion-free clarity at high SPLs up to 142 dB, all while yielding very-low self-noise (7 dBA).

The overall frequency response is balanced and quite flat, with a slight rise from 6 to 12 kHz to exude enhanced presence and brilliance. Thanks to the cardioid polar pattern, cancellation at the rear of the mic exceeds 25 dB, helping minimize background noise and bleed from other sounds. Both compact and durable, the metal-bodied M 930 Ts is attractive and easy to place. This matched pair is ideal for stereo recording applications and includes two microphone holders and a KS25 stereo rail in a suitcase for storage and transport.

The M 930 Ts uses the same 1.1" large-diaphragm capsule found in the original M 930 but also features a modified impedance-converter circuit and a specially designed output transformer. This gives the mic a slightly improved low-end response, the ability to drive longer cable runs, and more headroom—especially when working with high-impedance preamps.

The mic is designed for professional and semi-professional users who place the highest demands on their equipment. The microphone is particularly suitable for universal use in radio and recording studios and, due to the price class, also in the demanding home recording sector.

Possible applications for the M 930 Ts include singing, speaking positions, radio plays, and as a support microphone for recording guitars, keyboards, percussion, wind instruments, and strings.

The M 930 Ts studio microphone combines updated large-diaphragm capsule technology with the latest semiconductor circuit technology. The condenser capsules exhibits a smooth frequency response with a slight presence boost in the 6 to 12 kHz range.

The electronic impedance converter uses a newly perfected circuit topology. This design reduces the noise floor to an extremely low level (just 7 dBA) while also raising the maximum output capability. As a result, the microphone has a clean, distortion-free sound over an extremely wide dynamic range. Also, RFI susceptibility is very low.

The polar response exhibits an exceptionally high degree of rejection for sounds impinging from the rear of the mic.

The microphone capsule and electronics are elastically suspended inside the compact metal housing. This reduces the sensitivity to mechanical impact and structure-borne noise.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this one mic capsule and one pre or a stereo set of 2 capsules and 2 pres ?

A: Based on the manual and information I am finding on this, this is only 1 mic capsule. It is timbrally identical with the other 8000-series microphones for optimum aural compatibility, so that you can capture a group of instruments in the same way that you would use a stereo pair of mics.

Q: 2. Does this particular used item have intact foam?

A: This Nanuk 930 Case would come with Foam (Graphite).

Q: 3. What shock mount would you recommend for these mics?

A: Here's one good option BH #AVSSM. Please note, if placing this on a boom pole, you would also need a 3/8'' to 5/8'' adapter like this B&H # AUADCOMBOS.

Q: 4. How well would these work on a boom mount in a home studio, plugged directly into a Blackmagic Pocket 4K?

A: You could only plug 1 of these mics directly into the BMPC camera since it only has 1 xlr connection providing phantom power. You would also need an adapter cable to make that connection, BH #CACTF3MT3220. As long as the mic is within 3' of the person speaking, these would work fine.

Q: 5. What size thread are the included shock mounts?

A: The shock mounts that are included with the Samson C02 Pencil Condenser Microphones have a 5/8"-27 thread.

Q: 6. Would this fit a z6 with FTZ, sigma 150-600, and 24-70?

A: The Nanuk 930 Case with Foam is large enough for the Sigma 24-70mm lens , and FTZ adapter mounted on the Nikon Z6 camera. The Sigma 150-600mm will fit in the case at the same time.

Q: 7. this product new or secondhand?

A: This is a brand new item. All products purchased from B&H are brand new in the original factory box including packaging, all factory included accessories and factory warranty, unless otherwise stated to be USED, Refurbished, Open Box, or Demo.

Q: 8. Can these take batteries, or is it phantom power only?

A: These small diaphragm condenser microphones require +48 volt phantom power, and do not have a battery power option.

Q: 9. Do these have balanced matched triodes?

A: Yes they do. They are a matched pair of Telefunken E88CC-TK/6922 Black Diamond Series Vacuum Tubes.

Q: 10. Hello friends, in the samson site the C02 are described as Supercardioid mics, and here you described them as Cardioid. Can you confirm the polar pattern?

A: Thank you for bringing this error to oour attention. Samson lists these as having a supercardioid pattern:Pencil Condenser MicrophonesFeatures: SuperCardioid Pickup Pattern Gold-plated XLR connectors Carry Case & shock-mounted mic clips included Sold as stereo pair

[Cardioid] I used this mic in a studio years ago for lead vocals and it just fit my voice perfectly. I experimented with some other mics for home recording and nothing compared. Very pleased with my purchase.

[Phantom Power] This microphone is a thing of beauty.  Solid construction and sleek design. Bought this for voice over work and it compliments my voice very well - it sounds smooth and a little deeper which is what I was looking for. The sales help from B&H was incredible as always. Their recommendation made me consider it in the first place but trying it out sealed the deal. I am very happy with my AKG C214. I highly recommend both it and B&H highly. Ive been shopping at B&H for years and the experience only gets better.  Bottom line? This is a great mic.

[Bronze] Home recording of woodwind horns is a balance of price and performance. This mic brings up the standard without breaking the budget. The bad news is the rest of the links in the signal change will need an upgrade for us to truly enjoy the benefits of this exciting new microphone.

[Mono] Amazing clarity on acoustic instruments and vocals. Recommended by one of the best sound engineers I know. A great addition to any home recording setup, podcast, and live performance situations where richness and full-spectrum sound are needed.

[Side Address] On the few occasions that I've used these small diaphragm microphones they've always surprised me with their detail and clarity. I can't exactly attest to the EIN level of 12dB A-Weighted (from Zooms own website) but I can't detect any self noise through normal usage. Most recently I've recorded a popcorn tin can being struck (for a virtual instrument) and the cans resonance/sustain was best picked up by the ZPC-1. Additionally I placed a single ZPC-1 in a blimp windshield, recorded a grass cutter, and was easily able to hear the tiny rocks being picked up and flung by the grass cutter at a distance of about 10 feet. Needless to say I'm very happy with my purchase!

[Cardioid] For those who work in a 'budget friendly' environment this is a terrific solution -- you get so much performance of the legendary 414 but at a really low cost.
