Delivered in a suitcase with mic clips and a stereo rail for a variety of stereo recording options, this matched pair of dark bronze Microtech Gefell M 330 Small-Diaphragm Wide-Cardioid Condenser Microphones with Basic Accessories features two microphones designed for accurate reproduction of solo instruments and vocals in live stage applications and home, project, and commercial recording studios.

The unique mic capsule features a 16mm gold-sputtered Mylar diaphragm and is constructed from ceramic rather than metal to ensure consistent performance at a variety of temperatures. The capsule is protected by a triple-layer wire-mesh grille at the front and a dual-layer mesh for the rear-entry ports. The pressure-gradient design and wide-cardioid polar pattern lightly reject unwanted off-axis sounds. Transformerless circuitry yields low noise and contributes to a high dynamic range of 131 dB. This matched pair allows for a wide variety of stereo miking configurations.

The 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response features a gentle treble boost to increase clarity and presence. An XLR 3-pin output with gold-plated contacts ensures standardized connectivity and 48 VDC phantom powering provides battery-free operation.

  • Ideal for stereo miking instruments and ensembles
  • Small-diaphragm capsule allows a compact body for easy placement in tight spaces
  • Pressure-gradient design and wide-cardioid polar pattern offer moderate rejection of off-axis sounds such as stage bleed and indirect room ambience; use bleed from other instruments captured in recording for more coherent mixes
  • Transformerless circuitry contributes to low noise and high dynamic range
  • 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response with a smooth treble boost for presence
  • High maximum SPL of 147 dB
  • 48 VDC phantom powered—no batteries required
  • XLR 3-pin output allows easy connection to most mic preamps, audio interfaces, and recording consoles
  • Includes one 25mm stereo bracket for easy positioning in stereo configurations
  • Includes two MH 93.1 mic holders
  • Includes a suitcase for safe storage and transport

  • To ensure the highest quality performance, phantom power goes through a DC/DC converter to raise the voltage to 60V; this high polarizing voltage makes for the mic's impressive SPL handling and keeps self-noise to a minimum.
  • In addition, the polarizing voltage is delivered to the capsule via an optical coupler, which decouples the supply, reducing ripple and virtually eliminates any phantom power supply noise and/or spurious interference.
  • The electronics involve some clever optically isolated powering technology, in which a high-intensity LED, driven directly from the phantom supply, illuminates a photocell, which drives a DC/DC converter. This innovative approach neatly isolates the capsule bias and impedance converter power rails from the phantom supply, which helps in achieving the mic's very low noise floor. This effectively performs the task of the transformer without the ringing or bandwidth limitation that is usually associated.
  • By providing pure DC to the capsule, you get both an improved performance and a lower self noise, most notably in the broadband spectrum.
  • RFI protection is high, making susceptibility to radio interference extremely low.

If you are speaking into a microphone and recording with the software that comes with this kit, everything is in real time.

Q: 4. I have a small production coming up where I have to record someone singing. Is than an appropriate mic for singing vocals? The talent will be listening to the music via headphones so this mic will only capture her voice.

A: For a recording application like the one you are describing, the Senal SC-550X would be a great model to consider for this application.

Q: 5. Hello friends, in the samson site the C02 are described as Supercardioid mics, and here you described them as Cardioid. Can you confirm the polar pattern?

A: Thank you for bringing this error to oour attention. Samson lists these as having a supercardioid pattern:Pencil Condenser MicrophonesFeatures: SuperCardioid Pickup Pattern Gold-plated XLR connectors Carry Case & shock-mounted mic clips included Sold as stereo pair

Q: 6. Will these be better for indoor dialogue than an rode ntg 2 ?

A: Only in one regard. The NTG2 is a shotgun microphone, which means it is directional because it has an interference tube. Surfaces nearby (such as a ceiling several inches away) that reflect sound can defeat the interference tube, causing more background noise than expected to be recorded. For this reason, shotgun microphones are discouraged for indoor dialog. The C02 does not have an interference tube, so it does not have this problem. It is very directional, and it is a good fit for using on a boom for indoor dialog, even near sound-reflecting surfaces. That said, both the C02 and the NTG2 are a little weak in their ability to pick up the lowest and highest sound frequencies, but the NTG2 seems to be a little better in this regard.

Q: 7. What do i need to make it a mic?

A: This kit comes with a mic. The Senal SC-550X Large Diaphragm Condenser and everything else you need to record and edit Voice Overs. It is a complete kit.

Q: 8. Just received this kit and found that I am unable to mount the shock mount to the mic stand. We have a standard sized mic stand but the shock mount attachment is too small. Is there a special (or different) attachment available so I can mount the shock mount and mic to the mic stand?

A: The included shockmount features a female 3/8 to 5/8 male microphone adapter (similar to B&H# AUADCOMBOB) that allows integration with European standardized mic stands. To remove, simply locate the indentations or grooves on the outer edge of the adapter, and use a flat head screw-driver or small coin to turn an loosen; at which point the shockmount will have the correct size for your mic stand.

Q: 9. Can this be connected to a iPhone with an adaptor?

A: Yesm the sE Electronics sE2200 can be connected to an iPhone using a mobile audio interface that supplies the 48V phantom power required to power the mic. You can use an interface such as the IK Multimedia iRig Pre (B&H# IKIRIGPRE), iRig Pre HD (B&H# IKIRIGPREHD), Saramonic SmartRig DI (B&H# SASMARTRIGD), SmartRig+ DI (B&H# SASMARTRIGP), TC-Helicon Go Vocal (B&H# TCGOVOCAL) or any other mobile interface designed for use with iOS devices. Some may require an additional adapter for connecting to a Lightning port. The Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter (B&H# APLAADAP) can be used for that purpose.

Q: 10. Do these have balanced matched triodes?

A: Yes they do. They are a matched pair of Telefunken E88CC-TK/6922 Black Diamond Series Vacuum Tubes.

[Phantom Power] For those who work in a 'budget friendly' environment this is a terrific solution -- you get so much performance of the legendary 414 but at a really low cost.

[End Address] Home recording of woodwind horns is a balance of price and performance. This mic brings up the standard without breaking the budget. The bad news is the rest of the links in the signal change will need an upgrade for us to truly enjoy the benefits of this exciting new microphone.

[Phantom Power] On the few occasions that I've used these small diaphragm microphones they've always surprised me with their detail and clarity. I can't exactly attest to the EIN level of 12dB A-Weighted (from Zooms own website) but I can't detect any self noise through normal usage. Most recently I've recorded a popcorn tin can being struck (for a virtual instrument) and the cans resonance/sustain was best picked up by the ZPC-1. Additionally I placed a single ZPC-1 in a blimp windshield, recorded a grass cutter, and was easily able to hear the tiny rocks being picked up and flung by the grass cutter at a distance of about 10 feet. Needless to say I'm very happy with my purchase!

[48 V] This microphone is a thing of beauty.  Solid construction and sleek design. Bought this for voice over work and it compliments my voice very well - it sounds smooth and a little deeper which is what I was looking for. The sales help from B&H was incredible as always. Their recommendation made me consider it in the first place but trying it out sealed the deal. I am very happy with my AKG C214. I highly recommend both it and B&H highly. Ive been shopping at B&H for years and the experience only gets better.  Bottom line? This is a great mic.

[Phantom Power] In other words, excellent! Outstanding! I went back and forth between this mic and Neumann U87, having tried the TLM 103 in a similar price range and having been disappointed with the 103's tinny and thin response. If you're looking for a vocal mic, look no further. At half the price (or less) of a U87, you can have an authentic German large diaphragm cardioid condenser mic that is extremely quiet, with beautiful, buttery sound, and which is very forgiving and much more compact then the U87 form factor. I use this mike in a whisper room sound booth, primarily for voiceover and I can tell you the difference I am hearing, even between my trusty, industry stalwart 416: the noise floor is lower, with less detectable mouth sounds, and it feels like the dynamic range is greater than the short shotgun, with absolutely no boomy booth sound. I'm in love with this mike and I think you will be too.

[Mono] In my project studio I record various acoustic instruments such as guitar, upright bass and violin. I also record vocals and various hand percussion. I have traditionally used small condensers such as Neumann KM 184's and AKG C451-B's but was craving the sound that only a large diaphragm can deliver. I love AKG products especially those built in Vienna. So far have only used the 214 on vocals, acoustic guitar and middle eastern percussion and it more than met my expectations. I love the AKG sound. To me AKG's are not as transparent as Neumann BUT that is what I dig about it..it brings a bit of color and an openness. At the price point..this is a must have mic..you can never go wrong with AKG

[Bronze] Let me try to break this down as short as I can. I had been saving and dreaming of acquiring a u87ai for years. Recently I had clients not pleased with the colorization my mojave audio 201 fet mic was giving my vocals for narration duties. So I started thinking of buying a tlm 103 after having returned it a year ago because it was just to harsh for my voice. Although it was silky and extremely detailed, It just was to sibilant for me and sounded harsh in the higher frequencies for me. So researching I came across Gefell and how it is actually the Neumann family still in charge of Gefell while modern Neumann mics are made by senheisser. So I took a chance, and ordered the m930. Wow oh wow. It takes the best of the tlm 103 and does it even better. It's just as silky, and much more pleasing. I think of it actually closer to the u87ai but without the boxy midrange that mic is notorious for. It sits between the u87ai and tlm 103, but sits closer to the u87ai. I think my u87ai desires have been put to rest with the m930. It's so clean, clear, and silky. My voice has a lot of natural color, so the m930 works wonderful not adding any more and actually makes my voice sound much more pleasing. I wish I would've gotten this mic sooner when I first started doing voice work. It's compact, with a big open natural sound. I'm extremely happy with my purchase.
