The REQ12 Series projectors feature a Quad Pixel Drive, Panasonic's 2-axis pixel quadrupling technology, to create deep, smooth, and detailed 4K images. It supports 240 Hz projection and works with their optional real-time tracking projection-mapping system. Evolved Dynamic Contrast includes new scene-recognition circuitry to make the difference between black, white, and contrasting colors stand out dramatically and bring your content to life.

The REQ12 Series features an hermetically sealed optical block with all-liquid cooling, enabling 20,000 hours of maintenance-free projection. To prevent interruptions, Backup Input switches to a secondary signal without screen-blanking if the primary is disrupted, while a Multi Laser Drive Engine prevents brightness loss in the unlikely event of diode failure.

The PT-REQ12WU responds to complex productions with expanded functions, interfaces, and options that streamline workflow. A new line of lenses improve native contrast, add powered peripheral focus, and expand the lens-shift range. An Intel SDM-specified slot integrates proprietary or third-party function boards to adapt and scale connectivity. You can import custom test patterns, use NFC function to prep for network connection without AC power, and save time with preactivated upgrade kits for Geo Pro software.

Using a mobile device and NFC technology, you can prepare your projector without it even being powered on. Tap the decal on the PT-REQ12WU to use the Smart Projector Control app to adjust settings that can then be applied when the projector is finally setup and powered on. This feature also lets you restore the PT-REQ12WU to factory defaults when powered off.

[Yes] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this projector to replace an excellent Epson HD LCD projector. I was attracted to the laser light source and liked that this LG model had two separate colors which I thought would reduce the likelihood of rainbow patterns and indeed I haven't noticed these at all so far. The 4K is crisp and the picture is bright. HDR mode is very noticeable and I like the range of picture options. I use an Apple 4K TV and Xbox Series X so wasn't too interested in the onboard WebOS but its generally pretty responsive and intuitive so probably useful to have. The projected image does have a small thin light border and in super-widescreen 2.35:1 mode there are of course lighter bars at top and bottom; I'm not sure why with all the adaptive dimming technology they couldn't make it go really dark in those areas too, but projecting onto a wall with custom sprayed paint using MissisipiMan's formula in the AVSforum works really well with this projector and still looks better than the movie theater and is a big improvement over the Epson because of the 4K and laser technology, and is now useable in a brighter room. My advice is save your money on the expensive screen and splurge on this projector if you are thinking about it. I do think this technology is a generation ahead of the last and what's nice is it's also LG quality (I knew they made the best LCD IPS panels for computer displays as we have 6 of them, but now find they make really good projectors too) and really nice design and aesthetics. Switching on and off is fast and reliable and ambient noise seems quieter than anything else we have in the media room. We run a 30ft HDMI cable originally intended for 18Gbps through the ceiling and I was glad it didn't have to be replaced and meets all the XBox and Apple diagnostic tests at 4K/60Hz and 1080p/120Hz and works well with ARC sound too, even with a 3 year old receiver.

[Manual Powered] The short throw projector is an impressive piece of technology for any home theater enthusiast. The short throw ratio makes it pretty ideal for my small living room. The image quality of this short throw projector is outstanding, with crisp and vibrant colors that truly bring action movies to life. The high-resolution and high brightness ensure that even in well-lit rooms, the picture remains clear and sharp. The built-in speakers also deliver way better than average audio, I'm still on the fence about getting an additional sound bar to augment but I'm genuinely impressed that the stock speakers are as good as they are.

[f/1.84 to 2.31] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The projector arrived after a delay shipment of couple of weeks. It is carefully packed.
Took us an hour to setup everything. The setup is simple and was easy to mount and calibrate using the tool provided in the projector. The romote works like a mouse. How cool is that.
The quality of the picture is really good. Great to watch movies on home theater.
Our family loved watching the movie on the projector. Was a good buy for fair price.
The only concern I have with this projector is the app store doesn't have any useful apps.
I was searching for Hulu or ESPN and I couldn't find them. Hopefully a new update would bring them.

[Manual Powered] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this projector for nearly 1 month now and it is incredible. Like watching a 120 inch OLED tv (that's right there is no 120 inch OLED screen).
You and your friends will be totally in awe.

[Manual Powered] I was unsure how good of a picture I'd be getting from a projector in this price range. I shouldn't have been. This projector has been great so far! To me, the picture is just as good as the high-end 4k TV that I have elsewhere in my house. This is the best of both worlds - amazing UHD picture on my 100 inch screen. Very happy with this purchase!

[Powered: ] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a casual movie watcher and just really enjoy picture quality of this projector. Night and day difference coming from optoma hd26. As other reviews pointed out blacks could be better but not in this price range. Still highly watchable just tweak the iris for darker room.
