Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you remove the spreader, spread the legs out and operate a camera just above the ground? If so, about how close to the ground could you operate with this unit?

A: The mid-level spreader in this Sachtler System FSB 6 Sideload and 75/2 Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs with Mid-Level Spreader and Bag, is not removable.

Q: 2. would these legs work with Miller ds20 tripod head? both 75mm

A: Yes they definitely will. That is the setup I use.

Q: 3. Is it possible to move the pan bar to the other side of the head?

A: yes, please remove the Sachtler logo plate on the left side of the head

Q: 4. What's the difference between this tripod and the ACE 72/2 CF? Are they the same?

A: Currently there is available the Sachtler Ace 75/2 Carbon Fiber Tripod (75mm), which is a Carbon Fiber or CF tripod system. Currently we do not have an ACE "72/2 CF". This is the same tripod that comes with the Sachtler System Ace XL MS CF system.

Q: 5. Is this too beefy for a c100 mii? Or would I be better off with Ace L?

A: I don't think its beefy. Once I got the balance right it works well with a DVX-200. So depending on your rig I think it will be fine. It's super smooth and not overly complicated. It kinda gives you that Ace L feel but in a smaller and lighter package which is simple to set sticks and shoot. It gives you the feel of a Ace L under a grand, you really can't go wong..or wrong rather :)

Q: 6. maximum height?

A: The following unit offers the following 31.9 to 67.3" height range.

Q: 7. Does this come with a shoulder strap?

A: No sorry, this does not come with a shoulder strap. At 14lbs and 34 , it is really too big for use with one. When you need to move, collapse it and hold it to your shoulder. When you have finished shooting, use a case, (with wheels if you like) to transport it.

Q: 8. Will this work with a Libec DL-2 dolly?

A: No, the Sachtler System FSB 6 MK II Sideload and 75/2 Aluminum Tripod Legs with Mid-Level Spreader and Bag is not compatible with the Libec DL-2RB Standard Dolly for 650-EX, TH-X & TH-Z Tripods. Instead, try using the Proaim Heavy-Duty Portable Tripod Dolly (BH #PRPPRTD). See: https://bit.ly/40TsfDq

Q: 9. Is this compatible with aktiv heads ?

A: The Sachtler 75/2 Carbon Fiber Tripod (75mm) is compatible with aktiv series video heads.

Q: 10. Can you attach a 2nd pan bar to this new model?

A: The Sachtler 75/2 Mark II Carbon Fiber Tripod System with Ace XL Head & Mid-Level Spreader does not have a rosette in order to mount a second pan bar. The Sachtler 75/2 Mark II Carbon Fiber Tripod System with FSB 4 Fluid Head & Ground Spreader, BH #SA0381C, does have a second rosette which would allow for a 2nd pan bar.

[30.9 x 7.9 x 7"] So far, I love this tripod. Coming from Libec and Manfrotto sticks... I've had a Sachtler head for a long time but never upgraded the tripod itself. It is far and away faster to setup, easier to raise and lower, easier to carry when folded and easier to move with the camera on the sticks thanks to the included handle. They are very rigid.

The only con I've noticed is that sometimes the feet tend to get twisted or don't flatly contact the ground when setting up, probably from getting bumped around while folded up.... but I've never had this happen with any other tripod. It's not a big deal, happens rarely and I just tweak it back to normal and I'm good to go.

I do wonder about long-term wear and tear. I've already got some good scratches in the carbon fiber legs after 2 months of normal use.

[30.9 x 7.9 x 7"] I finally got to use my Sachtler Flowtech sticks this weekend on a short film project. What a time savor! We were able to move quickly between setups, which allowed us to pick up more bonus shots along the way. Who would’ve ever thought a tripod could be so innovative, but the flowtech system works really well.

[30.9 x 7.9 x 7"] This is super light and easy to set up. Gotten a ton of love from other DPs on the look and how much they love the old Satchlers.

[30.9 x 7.9 x 7"] This is the best tripod design that I have seen in my almost 40 years of shooting film and video. It's lightweight and easy to adjust and level even when the camera is mounted. I love having the locks where they are easy to reach. It is perfectly steady when using a fully rigged out Canon C300 and 40" slider. The magnets keep the legs firmly together for easy transport. It has all the build quality that you expect from Sachtler. I does have an odd rainstick sound effect when extending the legs, but that's an observation not a criticism. I would definitely recommend this tripod. Yes it's $$$$ (it's Sachtler), but your back will appreciate it at the end of the day.

[Carbon Fiber] So good

[75 mm Bowl] I've been a camera operator for almost 15 years and have used countless types of tripods from tiny cheap ones to high end broadcast Sachtler tripods. Mostly run with mid-level dslr/cinema rigs and this tripod blows them all out of the water. It's a game changer. No more multi level adjustments. Light, its exceptionally light for it's size. I paired it with the Miller DS-20, which itself is the best head in it's weight class.

[6.26 lb] I honestly have yet to find a flaw. This is the easiest to use, most rock-solid set of sticks I've ever owned.
