Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. i have same receiver with 2 mics that comes with it already. if I buy a third mic, would it be able to work with same receiver?

A: The number of microphones that a specific Shure BLX receiver can communicate with at one time is limited by the number of audio channels on the receiver. Shure offers single and dual-channel receivers in their BLX line, but does not offer a model that will receive signal from three Shure BLX2/PG58 Handheld Wireless Microphone Transmitters with PG58 Capsule at one time.

Q: 2. I have the Dual-Channel System with H55: 514 to 558 MHz band. I want to get a second unit. Should I buy the same frequency band?

A: In most cases you can use the same frequency band, but to be sure, please click the following link. The Shure Frequency Finder will show you how many microphones you can use per frequency band based on your zip code. https://www.shure.com/en-US/support/tools/frequency-finder

Q: 3. Does the mic have a mute button? If not can you mute mics from the receiver?

A: There is no mute button on the transmitter or receiver of the Shure SLXD24D/B58 Dual-Channel Digital Wireless Handheld Microphone System with Beta 58 Capsules. Any muting would need to be done via the mixing desk.

Q: 4. We have 2 BLX4/SM52 systems, with the frequency range of 584-608. We need a replacement mic. I see that the receiver range is now divided between 2 mic bands, H11:572-596 and J11:596-616. Does it matter which band mic I get?

A: As long as both the Shure BLX4 Wireless Receiver and the Shure BLX2/SM58 Handheld Wireless Microphone Transmitter with SM58 Capsule are tuned to the same frequency, the transmitter and receiver will be able to communicate together. So for a BLX4 Receiver with a frequency band of 584 to 608 MHz, you can use a BLX2/SM58 Transmitter that operates on the H11 band of 572 to 596 MHz or a BLX2/SM58 Transmitter that operates on the J11 band 596 to 616 MHz.

Q: 5. I HAD THE BLX2 88 OLD MODEL WITH ANTENNAS,AND 2 SM58A MIC,I LIKE TO ADD ON BLX288/58, ARE THEY CAN BE WORK TOGETHER? THANKS, RICK.

A: Yes, you can use the Shure BLX288/B58 Dual-Channel Wireless Handheld Microphone System with Beta 58A Capsules and your older Shure BLX series wireless microphone system at the same time. It doesn't matter whether the two systems operate on different frequency bands or if they both are on the same band. Since the BLX series system has 123 individual frequencies within the band, up to 12 BLX series systems that operate on the same band can be used at the same time within a 300 foot range without any problems.

Q: 6. I have receiver DDT4T I looking for Handheld Transmitter . Do you think this one work with my receiver?

A: I am sorry - B&H has no reference for a DDT4T transmitter. The ULXD2 Handheld Transmitter with SM58 Microphone Capsule (G50) is designed for compatibility with Shure's ULX-D wireless systems only.

Q: 7. Nice to meet you.I want use Shure AD3 in. Japan. So I need AD3-JB.do you sell the one ? best regards,

A: We only sell SHURE USA items and components. Please contact Shire Japan for AD3-JB.

Q: 8. Does this pair with any gooseneck mic system from Shure ?

A: The Shure SLXD24D/SM58 only works with other Shure SLX-D components. There are no Shure wireless SLX-D gooseneck systems.

Q: 9. Will this work with a Shure ULXP4 receiver?

A: No, the BLX2 transmitter will not be compatible with the ULXP4 receiver.

Q: 10. Does it come with rack mount hardware?

A: Yes, rack mount hardware is included for the receiver.

[25 kHz] We had an old ULXP from 2007. it still works and everything work fine, but the way this digital captures the audio is so much better.
on the old one i had to give it lots of eq. this new one i only have to eq a little bit. i had to apply lots of gain and high gate on the old one but with this one my gain is not as much and my gate has been lowered significantly. the mic does great at adjusting its own gain. i have not had issue with feedback yet. i love that it uses AA batteries.
so even if you dont buy the rechargable battery pack, you wont spend a fortune on batteries. the old ULXP uses 9v batteries and those are pricey. THe mic feels great in your hand, the metal housing really gives it a different feel. I use the mic on 10mw setting and i havent had issues with transmission. RX is 70 feet away and no issues. i Believe its worth the extra 250 to go from QLXD to ULXD models. if your debating if Q or U, spend the extra 250 and get the U, you wont regret it.

[25 kHz] First unit arrived DOA but B&H send me a new one super fast (thanks B&H). Great sound quality and great RF performance in a noisy spectrum. I love the sync feature and encryption. The only cons: the battery compartment is very delicate and you have to be very careful not to brake the small door.

[Off/On Switch] I already own 2 QLXD mics with the distro and Antenna fins and have never had an issue.  I live in NJ and for all the ocean/beach/NYC events with all sorts of wireless going on around me, they’ve been stellar.  So I purchased two more for a compact system when I don’t need to carry my bigger rack system.  And the beauty of it, is when I need to use four mics I can hook these two up two my Shure distro system!  I also opted for the sm58Beta heads on my mics.  the ordering and delivery from B&H was spot on and they always do a great shop in their service.

[Dynamic] Our church bought a large batch of these to replace our ULX systems that were in an outdated frequency band. We liked our ULX and had them for years, but these are a definite step up.
The mic body is made of metal and feels very solid. The power switch is sturdy too, and gives a tactile click so you can be sure you turned it on without having to look.
The range seems very good. We use these at a distance of 60-70 feet, and the signal is very strong using just the antennas that come with the unit.
One thing these do way better than the ULX is battery life. These use AAs (compared to 9V for the ULX), and we get around 10 hours of battery life out of them (compared to about 3 with the ULX). We use NiMH rechargeables, and they work just fine.
These QLXDs will be our go-to in the future for sure.

[Supercardioid] The Ulxd series from Shure is incredibly fast to setup and sync. After using the uhf-r, these are just way better. You also get 3 transmit power levels in this handle which helps out when your antennas are far away from stage. They are metal housed and very strong. The display is very easy to read, ALTHOUGH, I do like the display on the SLXD better, especially on the transmitter. SLXD has better contrast and easier to read. I have also used the Dante on the Ulxd series. Works great. I have 6 in a rack and one cat6 cable puts them all on the network. No xlr needed if you have a Dante enabled mixer. The available frequencies after a scan in WWB6 are usually around 40-50 in Los Angeles in the g50 band, which is plenty for me. The only thing I would like to see Shure improve on is the battery tray contacts. My frantic customers have broken them several times jamming batteries in sideways. Maybe curl the sides of the contacts more so when they do try and sideways insert it might take the battery without snapping off. Other than that, these handles have been rock solid in the many live performances I have used them on.
