This 82mm M2 Magnetic Quick Swap Base Ring from Freewell is designed for their magnetic quick swapping system. Once attached to the filter thread of your lens, it lets you swap out any of their M1 or M2 compatible magnetic filters quickly and easily. This means you can replace individual filters or stack densities and styles of various effects to suit your needs.

This ring is not compatible with conventional and nonmagnetic filters.

[Side] A very high quality magnetic mount polarizer with a magnetic lens cap. A great setup that I am now preferring over using the Sony clip on lens cap. This polarizer only removes unwanted glare and doesn't add any other unwanted image changes. Best used outdoors on sunny or partly cloudy days to remove glare and also add definition to clouds and also slightly darken the sky to add a bit more color and richness to blue skies. Highly recommend. 5

[82 mm] I have these in a couple sizes. The smaller ones, like 72mm are somewhat weaker in magnetic attachment, but they work OK. The larger 82mm size is much stronger and I like them even better. Having used magnetic filter attachment for some time now, the screw on ones seem just awful. So tedious. 5

[Side] The filter works very well and due to the magnetic ring can be installed very easily. The ring even has a thread so you can use existing screw-on filter without having to remove the magnetic ring. I particularly like the magnetic lens cap. The magnets so far have been strong enough to hold everything in place. 5

[0.055 lb] I've standardized on this 82mm size with magnetic step ups on smaller lenses. It's great having one set of filters and that's it, no matter which lenses you're bringing along for the day. Being magnetic and quick means you're more likely to use them instead of just lazily skipping filters because the threaded ones are so tedious. 5
