This SMDV Profoto Mount Zoom Focusing Systemfrom SMDV Profoto Mount Zoom Focusing Systemallows a Profoto-type strobe or LED monolite-style head to be quickly and easily mounted onto the adjustable boom arm. This head mount faces the light source inwards towards the softbox interior from the front for a more reflective light spread. A: The rubber ring of the SMDV Mount Adapter for Profoto Flash Heads (B&H# SMPROFOTOAD) is designed to be large enough for it to slip onto Profoto strobe heads such as the Profoto B1, B1X, B10, B10 Plus, B10X, B10X Plus, and so on. Rather than relying on a constant size, articulating the lever on the side of this adapter effectively constricts the opening of the rubber side of the ring so that it grips the front of those strobes securely. To be clear, the ring is not a constant size but rather becomes tighter (i.e. more constricted) when one flips the side lever. Given that it's made of rubber and not molded plastic, you should expect some variance both in its inner diameter and also at different ambient temperatures. However, it will work with the aforementioned strobes and also with any other strobe that can utilize the same speed rings and inserts as those.

Q: 4. Will this reflector fit on a pro 7b head? Thanks!

A: Yes, the Profoto Zoom Reflector 2 will fit on the Profoto Pro 7B head. This head still uses the standard Profoto Speedring making it compatible.

A: They do not. I purchased after seeing the answers below and they are wrong. You'll either need to buy the Profoto grids or find a used 7" refector.

A: The interior diameter is 7 3/16 in. A Profoto grid that fits inside is about 7 1/8 in diameter ( a little less). As for the weight, it's less than a pound ( approx. .6 pounds). It's very light. Some else give you the 7.6 in dia. which is the outside dim.

[1.67 lb] I've used the Zoom Reflector 2 for about two years at work and have had so much fun with it that I bought one for personal use. One of my favorite uses for the reflector is to bounce a light off a very high ceiling - it's like having the biggest softbox ever! The build is great and can take a fair amount of abuse. 5

[1.67 lb] I bought one of these for my Profoto strobes (B1's and D2s). Subsequently I purchased a second one. The ZR2 works very well as a kicker or hair light but can also provide harder light when used directly. Sometimes I use grids but I regularly use barndoors to control the light spill. Overall, I like the Zoom Reflector 2 a lot. It's a handy modifier. 5

[Silver] A good reflector is an essential modifier -- the new Series 2 reflectors are excellent, efficient, durable and lightweight -- They're a bit smaller than whwat I'm used to, coming from the rather large Alienbees/Einstein 7 and 8.5 Reflectors (and much more durable), and the ability to zoom is awesome. 5

[Silver] I purchased these knowing how good they are and having rented them for years for jobs. I finally purchased some B10 plus’ and (even though the heads have a flat pyrex) it amplifies the flash tremendously. It’s also good to have for when I use umbrellas and or other lighting shapers. 5
