Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this lens compatible with the sea frogs housing for the TG6?

A: Yes, the Backscatter M52 Underwater Wide-Angle Wet Lens is compatible with the sea frogs housing for the TG6.

Q: 2. Does it diminish photo quality and is this a good cover when kayaking?

A: The Outex 130 Underwater Camera Cover (Large) requires a front and rear glass. It will not degrade image quality and is one of the better bag underwater housings. For help to see what front and rear glass is required for your camera and lens email us at uw@bhphoto.com.

Q: 3. Will this fit a Sony a7III with grip and 70-200?

A: The Outex 130 Underwater Camera Cover (Large) will fit the Sony a7III with grip and the Sony 70-200mm lens. You need to add front and rear glass to the housing. Outex Rear Glass for Underwater Camera Cover (86mm) is the rear glass you need. Here is the link: https://bhpho.to/2WeR2BD For the Sony FE 70-200mm f/4 G OSS Lens Outex Front Glass for Underwater Camera Cover (72mm Filter Thread) is the front glass that is needed: https://bhpho.to/2MNMEXp For the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens you need Outex Front Glass for Underwater Camera Cover (77mm Filter Thread): https://bhpho.to/2p28r4B

Q: 4. does this fit a Nikon P950?

A: Yes the Nikon D950 will fit inside of this but it does not fit will and it strains the zooming motor when it tries to zoom in and out.

Q: 5. Would this work for a 5D Mark iii? Is it submergible?

A: No, it would not. The Outex 110 Underwater Camera Cover (Medium), B&H # OUCOVER110, would instead be recommended for use with the Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR camera as long as the length of the camera and the lens you will be using is 10 inches or less. As it is designed for underwater usage, yes, it may be submerged. Outex’s patented waterproof design is IP08 tested to 10 meters or 33 feet deep when applied correctly. The seal is waterproof and ideal for water sports, snorkeling, etc. Outex was not designed as scuba gear and it does not protect your equipment against severe underwater pressure while scuba diving.

Q: 6. is the camera any good? what does it save the image capture on? how long can it shoot continuous 4K? an hour? 45 minutes?

A: The sensor is a 1/2.3 CMOS sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, so it should do relatively well in terms of picture quality especially when using the mounted lights on the rig. Images would be saved to an on board SD card that must be inserted into the unit. And the only recording limit seems to be how large your SD card is. So if you plan to record a longer dive, I would purchase the largest card possible, a 512GB which with 4k recording would give you roughly 16 hours of recording depending on the bit rate.

Q: 7. I will be going whale watching and have a Nikon D850 and nikkor 80-400. Will this combination fit and is there enough slack in the bag to use the zoom? thank you

A: The D850 and 80-400mm lens are already weather sealed and can be used in a mild rain or sea spray. The Outex is designed more for submerging a camera and lens into water and does not allow for much zoom control. If you want to add a little extra rain protection for above water use (such as on a boat) I would recommend this Ruggard Rain Cover: https://bhpho.to/3yR0tv0

Q: 8. I have a Canon 6D Mark ll with a 24-105mm. I would like to take it for a mermaid shoot. Would this body size work?

A: The Outex 130 Underwater Camera Cover (Large) is too large for the Canon EOS 6D Mark II DSLR Camera with the attached Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM Lens. Instead, get the Outex 110 Underwater Camera Cover (Medium), BH #OUCOVER110. The Outex Rear Glass for Underwater Camera Cover (86mm), BH #OUREARGLASS, and Outex Front Glass for Underwater Camera Cover (77mm Filter Thread), BH #OU77MM, are required.

Q: 9. What size case for a Sony a7riii with a Sigma 28-70mm 2.8 lens?..thanks

A: The Outex 100X Underwater Camera Cover (Small) will fit a Sony a7riii with a Sigma 28-70mm 2.8 lens.

[Xenon] First, I want to thank B&H for having great service, great prices and fast shipping. Regarding this light, I use it on my boat all the time. It's rugged, bright, easy to handle and waterproof. On a boat you need to always have safety gear (flashlight) in functioning order. No corrosion on this light whatever. This is the second one I own. First is still going strong after 3 years. Although on my first, the switch can sometimes be a little finicky...

[Plastic] I have several of these now, scattered throughout the house and garage. They are economical, and have proved to be reliable over time. I have dropped them more than once. No problem.

I love the yellow color, which makes the flashlight easy to find.

[Plastic] I purchased my first Pelican products in the late 70's. The Pelican 1975 is the best penlight I have ever used in 38 years as a paramedic. The 'soft switch' allows convenient intermittent use. As I have had difficulty finding one from several vendors, I'm likely to purchase a second one any day. You should too.

[Plastic] I had my last one for 18 years, so I decided that it's time for a new. This one is a little smaller, but everything fits and it's a little lighter than the old one.
