The 16-stop, 43mm Tiffen Solar ND Filter 43mm with Step-Up Ring & Glassesfrom Tiffen Solar ND Filter 43mm with Step-Up Ring & Glassesis a solid ND filter with a 65,536x filter factor that provides an 16-stop exposure reduction. Its 4.8 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed while reducing the risk of overexposure. This means you can capture more detailed solar images than might be possible under normal conditions. By also limiting IR and UV light this filter helps ensure color-neutral images, and its multi-layer coating reduces glare.

This filter is designed specifically for photography applications. This filter is not suitable for direct solar viewing with the naked eye, including with optical viewfinders.

Q: 1. Warrenty

A: Don't need, thx. It works perfectly

Q: 2. I have a Europen coffee machine with spec 220V/1710Watt, will it work with this converter in US?

A: Yes, it will work. I had the same. Nespresso machine bought in the UK hence i needed this. It now works!

Q: 3. What is the type of transformer inside the unit?

A: For this the manufacture would not specify what is built in the Sevenstar TC-5000 Step Up/Step Down Transformer (5,000W) BH #SETC5000.

Q: 4. I have a coffee machine bought on Amazon. It requires 120V ~ 60Hz 1100W. I am located in Israel. We have 220V outlets here. Will this Transformer TC-2000 work be Ok for this coffee machine?

A: Yes, the Sevenstar TC-2000 Step Up/Step Down Transformer is compatible.

Q: 5. What appliances can or cannot be plugged in this transformer?

A: It all depends on the appliance power or Watts. For security reasons, multiply appliance Watts number by 3. In case it's lower than 5,000 then it's safe to use the transformer. I'm using it with a coffee machine I brought from Switzerland which has 1,600W.

Q: 6. Hi is there 220v tv of this model..

A: This a voltage transformer. We do carry TVs that can run on 220V: http://bit.ly/220TVs

Q: 7. How much does it weigh approximately? My flight has stringent weight restrictions

A: Almost nothing... its very light. I'll say about 5 lbs?

Q: 8. i just received my Transformer i hooked it up with it in 220 volts and it is only putting out 116 volts am i doing something wrong ?

A: Please make sure your input and output voltages are selected appropriately. If that is the case, and the unit is still putting out an undesired voltage, we would recommend reaching out to Sevenstar at info@sevenstar.com.

Q: 9. I am buying for an air conditionner that is 208/230V and INPUT: 1,510/1,470 W. Would it work? or should i cancel the order and call an electrician?

A: We have run a 1500W air conditioner on a 5000W unit with no problems, I would be hesitant to use a 2000W unit, initial draw is higher then running current. I basically double the power need for a piece of equipment when buying transformers. My 2000W will only have 800w to 1000W plugged into it.

Q: 10. Is the 300 watt rating a peak rating or a continuous use? If it is a peak rating, is there a published continuous rating?

A: 300 Watts is the peak rating for the Sevenstar ST-300 Step Up/Step Down Transformer.

[Aluminum] What's not to like? I mean, if you want to take shots directly into the sun without burning out your chip (or your eye, if you use a DSLR) then this is the only option going.

As you can see from the photo, it does the job - that was taken with the Fuji 150-600 plus 2X TC for a focal length of 1200MM at f16, and since the Fuji is a DX camera that's essentially equivalent to an 1800MM lens on an FX chip. So, figure about a 36 power telescope. And the cropping (other than making it square) was minimal. The point is, having taken a few dozen shots (as the clouds were moving along each was a bit different) there was no ill effect to the sensor in the camera.

[43 mm] I bought this Hoya filter specifically for solar photography and in a size that fitted my largest front end diameter lens, making use of step rings to attach it to smaller lenses. I will only be using this on mirrorless cameras, as it is not recommended for any use that directs sunlight to the eye. It works. I was able to photograph the midday full sun using a normal range of aperture and shutter speed settings in conjunction with low ISO settings. The best results revealed a well exposed and defined sun with sunspots visible. There was no indication that the camera or lens received any form of damaging solar radiation and I felt safe using this filter.

[Glass] While I won't know for sure until April 8th, and since an individual only has so many chances to photograph a Total Eclipse, you need to be prepared. The potential for catastrophic equipment damage makes the cost of the best filters a minor inconvenience compared to damage to cameras equipment. Hoya's reputation provides confidence I'll be ready in April...

[0.085 lb] I live in the Texas Hill Country and investigated lots of filters for photographing the annular solar eclipse, 10/14/23, and the upcoming total solar eclipse in April 2024. I went with the Hoya and was not disappointed. The filter worked beautifully and protected my Nikon D850 and AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR lens. Attached photo shot at 500mm, f/5.6, 1/640 sec on tripod
