Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the best recommended fixer for Foma 100/200/400 4x5 films?

A: We recommend to use either the Ilford Rapid Fixer bh# ILRFL (if using ilford developer and stop bath) or the Kodak Professional Kodafix Fixer bh#KODAFIX (if using Kodak developer and stop bath).

Q: 2. Is their a film this is chemically similar to, so I can know how long to develop?

A: Other ISO 400 films will react in a similar manner to Flic Film UltraPan 400 (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures)--you should check the developer you use for a development times table.

Q: 3. How can this be considered a paper for C-41 processing?

A: These are sheets of black and white film negatives, suitable for large format 4x5 technical cameras. This is not paper for c-41 processing.

Q: 4. The specs listed here for this film say C-41 processing. Can this really be correct?

A: That is a mistake , this is not Film Processing C-41

Q: 5. How many exposures does this film roll have available to be shot?

A: The Flic Film Vision3 200T Cine Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures) contains 36 exposures.

Q: 6. is it fresh film?

A: B&H Photo's policy on film is that all film sold will have an expiration date at least 6 months after the delivery date.

Q: 7. Is it 110V or 220V or free volt?

A: ALL CPP3 machines sold in the USA are made to use native 110V mains power. This answer is provided by CatLABS - the Jobo distributor in the USA.

Q: 8. Does this have the anti-halation remjet layer on it?

A: Yes, Flic Film Vision3 250D Cine Film has the Remjet anti-halation backing.

Q: 9. Which Chemical Development Process is this film stock designed to use? (ie ECN-2, C-41, etc?)

A: You have several options to choose from for Kodak VISION 35mm Color Print 2383 Film: it is safe for processing in Standard C-41 Lab Processors or ECP-2D processing. The film can also be processed in standard black and white developers and fixers.

Q: 10. Is this DX coded? (I'm want to use it in a point-and-shoot).

A: No, the Flic Film Vision3 250D Cine Film (35mm Roll Film) does not have the DX encoding. However, you can still use this film on a point and shoot film camera.

[Bamboo] Best print tongs I have used. The tips close and grip at the same angle, i.e., they are parallel to each other. This creates a very large contact area, thus producing a very good grip on the printing paper. Most other print tongs do not have tips that close at the same angle. The much smaller contact areas from these tongs provide less grip, prints are more prone to fall during solution draining and/or transfer from one tray to the next. Print damage or solution splashing could result. As far as I know, the only other tongs that have parallel closing tips are from Kaiser. I don’t like them because the tips are spring loaded to close. In this situation, I do not have any feel or control on the intensity or tightness of the grip. The plastic tips are thin so they easily get under prints in solutions. The tongs' bodies are made with stainless steel, they should last for a long time. Because of this, I think Legacy should make available replacement plastic tips as these will require changing once in a while.

[Bamboo] I run a college darkroom and these are (so far) the best tongs I've found for student use. The tips do fall off occasionally, but not nearly as frequently as the bamboo tongs. Recommended!

[Bamboo] They're light and long enough I can grip the paper much more easily than I could with my old bamboo tongs.

[Bamboo] These are larger and sturdier than the cheap bamboo style tongs, and the design is much more thoughtful. The combination of the angled tips and the less bulky rubber over the tips makes it much, much easier to grab prints out of tight trays, and the length and sturdiness means less force is required to maintain grip. The little angled section on one side toward the handle is designed so they can rest easily on the side of a tray. A pleasure to use.

[Bamboo] Had issues grasping papers in tray that caused me to fumble and leave papers in beyond my target time, and decided to try these. Pulled the trigger to buy even though these cost more than the standard ones by almost double. Up until then was using both bamboo rubber tipped tongs and older plastic one. Not only do these Legacy tongs feel great, they work great too. To be fair, part of problem was using undersized trays that just fit 8x10 papers, leaving very little room to get tip of the tong under paper, but these work great. How confident am I in these? Will be ordering more.
