Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will I need to double batch to develop a roll of Super 8?

A: How many batches of the Flic Film ECN-2 Processing Kit for 8 Rolls (0.5L) you will need will depend how long your super 8 film is. This chemistry though is for film that had the remjet layer removed. It won't work if your super 8 film still has the remjet layer on it.

Q: 2. How many frames?

A: The Flic Film Vision3 250D Cine Film (35mm Roll Film) has 36 frames.

Q: 3. Is this chemistry for movie films like 250D or 500T?

A: Yes, the Flic Film ECN-2 8-Roll Home Processing Kit (0.5L) is the correct development kit for all Kodak Vision 3 cinema films.

Q: 4. Is this true ECN2 processing or cross processing?

A: The Flic Film ECN-2 8-Roll Home Processing Kit (0.5L) is for ECN2 processing for cinema film.

Q: 5. Are these reusable or one-time use only?

A: The Kalt 35mm Cassette for Bulk Film (Plastic, 20 Cassettes) can be reused if properly cared for.

Q: 6. If the camera can only shoot 144 frames per roll, does that mean for each 6 seconds (standard 24fps) video, we have to switch a new roll?

A: The film is actually around 4-6 fps max. It's hand cranked so there's no way you get 24fps. A film roll actually gives about 30 seconds of film. Think of it more like an old silent movie type rate. I got an 8 scecond sequence from 22 frames as an example.

Q: 7. why is this single use? why cant you use it more than once?

A: The design of the Sensei CBF-35 35mm Cassette for Bulk Film (Single Use) makes it not reusable once you open it again to take the film out of it.

Q: 8. Where do I get the developing times for this film?

A: The manufacturer has instruction on how to find developing times on their website at the bottom of the page here: https://bit.ly/3fO6SOX

Q: 9. Is this DX coded? (I'm want to use it in a point-and-shoot).

A: No, the Flic Film Vision3 250D Cine Film (35mm Roll Film) does not have the DX encoding. However, you can still use this film on a point and shoot film camera.

Q: 10. Can you compare this to Adox CMS 20?

A: Film Photography Project Low ISO Black and White Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 24 Exposures) has a very low ISO of 6 and is a blue-sensitive film that incorporates a yellow dye that is removed during processing for increased sharpness; Adox CMS 20 II Black and White Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures) is an orthopanchromatic film with a low ISO of 20, that has a similar sensitivity human eyesight, with increased green sensitivity. Both feature a high degree of detail.

[Black] Decided to try it out given the price was good. I like the grain and the contrast, it performed well. Very good price, worth a try to see if you like it.

[Black] At first glance, I thought it was a wasted roll, but after some color corrections in Lightroom, the warm tones were there while still highlighting the natural colors that modern slide film highlights. I will definitely shoot with it again to see if I can fine tune the exposure a bit.

[Black] This has been my go to color film since I discovered it last year. I've had great results every time. Great for street photography or indoors with my old school flash. Photo's shot with estate sale find Minolta X-370, Sigma 35-70mm lens.

[Black] Nice way to add some variety and mix up what you shoot. For the price its worth buying a few rolls and seeing what you get. Lots of contrast and nice fine grain.

[Black] Step 1. Buy this stock
Step 2. Put it in your camera
Step 3. Slap on an 812 filter

Now I just need to get one of those old slide projectors

[Black] In August, I went on a trip the the Pacific Northwest, and wanted to capture it on Slide and B&W. I shot 5 rolls of Chrome 100 using a Nikon F with a 50mm F/1.4 and using a Pentax Spotmeter V!

Very happy with how they turned out! I also brought two rolls of Kodak's E100 to compare, and since Chrome 100 is just bulk loaded E100D wasn't much of a difference between E100 and Chrome 100!

I really enjoyed this roll and for the price (especially since E100 is 21.99 on B&H) you can't get much better than this!

[Black] I bought this film kinda on a whim after really liking Flic Film Elektra and how they handled their packaging. I needed something for varied lighting that wasn't CIneStill 800t as I didn't want the hallation, and I gotta admit I find Portra 800 just a little boring (though reliable to keep around)

Its still not known at this time where Aurora 800 comes from, as opposed to some others from Flic Film, but I gotta say I kinda love it. This whole roll was shot pushed to 1600, and everything came out beautifully. There was so much latitude in it that I could do some edits to pull back exposure and the grain becomes so nice, without losing any of the character of the image or the shadows. I haven't shot it at box speeds yet, but the way 1600 still captures such great color, as well as detail in light, shadow, and midtones I really am sure box speed will be great too.

Until we finally get someone making 1600 speed film again, I think Aurora will be my go to for color at 1600. CineStill 800t will also still get some rotation for that, but I feel that will be much more situational for me.
