The Transvideo 6.5" Rainbow II On-Camera Monitorfrom Transvideo 6.5" Rainbow II On-Camera Monitordelivers 420 nits of brightness and is ideal for body-rig, film, and high-end DV applications. It is a native 16:9 LCD monitor, but the aspect ratio can also be switched to 4:3 or anamorphic 1:2.35. The auto-reverse function (specifically designed for body-mount operators) automatically reverses the image when the monitor is turned upside down.

The 6.5" Rainbow II has three composite video inputs, a straight video output, and a processed video output. The output follows the ratio setting; if the monitor is set to 16:9, then the processed video output will be 16:9. This processed signal can be fed to other monitors, recorders, or transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If I USE the HDMI input, can I send a signal through the sdi output full hd 60p???

A: No, the Viltrox DC70 EX 7" 4K LCD On-Camera Monitor does not support cross conversion. HDMI input signals would only output via HDMI.

Q: 2. What is the size of the barrel power supply plug?

A: Viltrox does not list the barrel size of the DC input of the Viltrox DC70 EX 7" 4K LCD On-Camera Monitor.

Q: 3. Is this 6.5x item suitable for opera, ballet, etc., or should I look even lower in power for that use?

A: It would depend where you are sitting. For a 6.5 power I would recommend nothing closer than row 15.

Q: 4. There was no Brightness specification of the monitor

A: The manufacturer of the Viltrox DC70 PRO 7" 4K LCD On-Camera Monitor (B&H #VIDC70PRO) does not list a brightness rating in the specifications for it. However, we would estimate it at about 300-400 cd/m² which would make it usable in typical indoor ambient light. That's in the same range as the brightness level of similar monitors at its price level, and also that of a screen of a typical sub-$1,000 laptop PC. Moreover, it could be used for framing a shot outdoors using the included sun hood if bright light is kept from falling directly on the screen.

Q: 5. What features does it have? Specifically things like false color, histogram, and other exposure monitoring instruments?

A: Peaking, Histogram, False color, Waveform, and exposure tools are included with the Viltrox DC70 II 7" LCD On-Camera Monitor

Q: 6. What are the mounting options for this display?

A: it has a 1/4-20 female thread on the bottom

Q: 7. Do Papilio have Serial number? And where to look for it?

A: on the left underside- spread the binoculars to their widest interpulillary distance and the whole data plate will be visible- will show ricoh imaging and made in china and the serial # (6 digits for my papillio I and II)

Q: 8. Will this monitor work with the Blackmagic Ursa Broadcast G2?

A: The Viltrox DC70 EX 7" 4K LCD On-Camera Monitor is compatible with the Blackmagic Ursa Broadcast G2.

Q: 9. I just received my Papilio 6.5X binoculars. I have properly set the interpupillary distance for distance viewing but have noticed that when I focus close to or especially at minimum focus distance I see slight overlapping images. At those close distances I cannot adjust the interpupillary distance to eliminate this problem. Is this an unavoidable problem with these extreme closeup design or do I have a problem with my binoculars?

A: Yes, The binocular is limited to its maximum spec.

Q: 10. Are you sure this has a vectorscope? I couldn't find a mention on the Viltrox website.

A: there is no mention of a vector-scope on this monitor. it does not include a vector-scope

[10 to 36 VDC] I've had a camera in my hand for well over half a Century and used so many different pieces of equipment from numerous Mfg's it would take a Novel to write. The ONE company that's been in my use in one form or another has been Sunpak(120J BEST Flash ever used)! For under TEN Bucks this clip on Ring light is BETTER than any ring light I've ever used, has so many incredible features, why wouldn't ANYONE own one?
I use it to photograph Error Coins with my EOS 5DRS & a Canon 100mm/Macro f2.8L II IS USM lens, with this Ring Light clipped onto my lens hood(in storage position). The color is SPOT on AND the BEST most FUN part of this Ring Light is All the colors and effects with Light and Color it's capable of creating!

I plan on picking up a dozen more for use during Christmas Season, it does things one would pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars to create so really cool Christmas lighting tool as well!! If you live with Blinders on, can't see outside the Box...... you'll never learn Creativity!!

[700:1] It may not be obvious from the product description, but the (somewhat janky) clip can be screwed off from the bottom, and it reveals a standard 1/4 female connector on the ring light side. So it is very easy to chuck it on a standard tripod or other desk mounts. It also runs perfectly from a power bank for portability, or a monitor's built-in USB port.

[13.2 W] Great for mounting the Stargate or Rainbow monitors on the standard STEADICAM 1/4 wide spud used by PRO, XCS and many others.

[1.58 lb] For a small setting, these lights are perfect. I bought 2 right away. There are various colors with different strength settings on each light. I will probably get 1 or 2 additional lights once I get going.

[1.58 lb] Can in a couple days ago. Love this monitor and how quickly B&H was able to get me this special order. It did come with a crack in the plastic holder the case but I spoke to B&H and they were able to figure out a replacement.
