A: I havent tried that as Im using the audio only box made for the c300mkii, the MA-400 audio unit, but I would guess yes as you can use only the monitor with just the video cable. I cant see a reason why not. Try if the audio function works with just the audio cable plugged in.

Q: 7. Will this work with C300 first camera?

A: It will not. This is not compatible with the original C300.
