[Glass] Great cámara for video and photo I love it

[UV] We needed a 3rd camera for a shoot that met the specs we required, but was small enough for a mechanical tracking shot. This camera delivered. Battery was very long-lasting and the 4K shot looks amazing.
Could not have worked out better.

[UV] This thing is great. Pre-ordered when it came out 2 years ago. Had taken it all over, had expose to rain, sand, even dropped it (not intentionally) and still works great. Is nice to see other people notice the difference in quality compare to other cameras. My old Canon and legacy glass works...I'm planning to get the S5IIx when it comes out, will keep the S5 to run the legacy glass. Best bang for the buck!!

[Glass] I have four of these bodies now and they're just such a great compliment to my s1h. they're small, lightweight, and pretty much pack all the essentials in that my S1H has (with a few minor exceptions). Color and image quality are phenomenal and i couldn't recommend this camera more!

[Glass] I'm a pro photographer (25+ years of experience). I do a lot of travel and lifestyle work and I document a pro cycling team during the summer European season, shooting a lot behind the scenes material for a bike manufacturer. I needed a reliable backup for my Leica SL2-S, so the Lumix S5 was a no brainer given its price point and reputation. Now, if you have hands like Thanos and you shoot fast action sports, you might want to consider another camera (the contrast-based autofocus is a big limitation). Otherwise, this is a great all-around camera with stellar 4k video and photo still capabilities. Perfect for the photographer who likes simplicity and working out of one bag.

[Multi Coated] This is by far the most underrated mirrorless camera on the market today. When you think about a high-end mirrorless camera you automatically think about Sony, Canon, or Nikon. But Panasonic has proven to be a real player in the game with their S Series of cameras. And the S5 is the complete package. It’s built extremely well, easy to hold, and comfortable while shooting, and combined with that the menu system is easy to navigate which makes the S5 extremely easy to shoot with.

I initially was sold on the GH5 or GH5s but as I continued my research I realized that I wanted a camera with a full-frame sensor with the ability to shoot with micro 4/3’s as needed too. I also wanted a camera that could take stunning photos and the S5 had that advantage over the GH5 too. Plus they were nearly identical in price.

The photo and video quality is stunning as well. I’m a small YouTuber and I film in v-log and color grade in Final Cut Pro X and I am floored with how the final product looks.

If you’re trying to decide between this camera and the Sony A7 III or the GH5, the S5 will more than satisfy your needs in every situation. It’s one of the best in the market and by far the most underrated camera today. Go ahead and pair it with the Sigma DC DN 30mm f/1.4 lens (L mount - just Google for it) like I have and I promise you that you’ll own the market and dominate your portfolio in every shot, every time - I guarantee it. You won’t be disappointed by this incredible camera.

[Dedicated] After using a couple lower model Sonys and Canons I decided to get back into Lumix! I am very satisfied with the purchase. The features are everything and more than I expected and the value is exceptional! No, the auto-focus isn't perfect, but the features that support it make it great, if you use the correct settings and diagnostics in the camera. If image quality is at the top of your priority list, you won't do better for the money than the Lumix S5. It's even a better value when you include the 20-60mm lens. I hesitate to call it a kit lens, because that label has come to have a negative connotation. This lens is 20mm. Where are you going to get a lens that wide for $300? It's also a zoom that goes all the way out to 60mm, covering the entire standard range. People will complain that variable aperture is a hindrance to bokeh. This lens makes it back by having a great close focus distance. I'm surprised this set up isn't more known to the world!

[Glass] This is a great camera. Every review talks about the autofocus so here's that piece. In photo you won't notice it hunting. In video it is a bit noticable but you can adjust the settings to make it work for you. Everything else is fantastic. The controls can be remapped and the build quality is amazing.

[Dedicated] I am new to photography and wanted to purchase a higher end camera so that I wouldn't wind up upgrading to a newer camera after I get past my learning curve. This camera so far, even with taking photos in auto mode is incredible. As well, I ventured into taking a video and the clarity was unbelievable. I look forward to learning this camera and tapping into my visual creative side with wonderful results.

[Multi Coated] I use the S5 for pro-sumer photo and video and use a lot of vintage lenses along with the Panasonic and Sigma Leica L mount lenses. The sensor is better than an equivalent Sony in terms of image quality and low light, but the ergonomics are better. Adapters for any format to Leica L are available and the available Leica L native lenses support everything needed. I researched extensively before this purchase and I am not disappointed- the S5 is a top performer for photo and video at this price range.
