[Black] When using my Nikon z9 and Z8 cameras I always want a clear idea of my photo. In the finished photo we don't want flair, we want sharp images be it details or Bokah. The Hoodman eyecups helps me to know my subject and helps me to determine if flair will appear on my photo or is the light coming from outside of the viewfinder.

[0.02 lb] This eye cup is quite comfortable and blocks out all ambient light making the viewfinder easier to look at. MUCH better than the standard eye cup that comes with the Z8. It can easily (but not too easily) be rotated 180 degrees to accommodate both left and right-eyed shooters.

[Black] I've always preferred having a good eyecup on my cameras and this one does not disappoint. The rubber is supple enough for comfort but still sturdy. I can only speak to the fit on the Zf, but it is perfect. One of the things that worried me was if the rear hinged screen would hit the cup. It does touch but does not hinder usage in any way. If B&H says it also fits the Z9 and 8, I have no reason to doubt that.

[0.02 lb] After finding that the Nikon DK-19 was incompatible with the Z8, I bought this hoping it would replicate the features of the DK-19. The features I was looking for were: a soft, deep, eyecup that could be flipped back on itself to streamline putting the camera in and out of bags/packs. This eyecup fits those requirements perfectly.

A note for usage for eyeglass users though: the eye-point on the Z8/Z9 is rather deep, so you will absolutely need to set the Viewfinder display size to Small in the SETUP MENU to compensate (if you do not already). I do not use eyeglasses, and can only just see all four corners of the viewfinder on the Standard display size when I push my eye right into the eyecup.
