Capable of delivering 2 x 400W (4 ohms) and 800W at 8 ohms in bridged mono mode, the A800 exhibits massive headroom for pristine audio reproduction. The A800's advanced convection-cooling technology ensures stable, noise-free operation. And with the low-impedance, servo-controlled design, the A800 can drive virtually any passive speaker system.

A precise level meter with input clip and channel protection LEDs are provided for accurate performance monitoring. Input connections are provided in the form of balanced XLR and 1/4" TRS connectors as well as unbalanced RCA sockets, ensuring you have loads of input options. Plus, the speaker outputs give you the choice between professional twist-lock speakON and binding post connectors.

Thanks to Behringer's high-density Class-D amplifier technology, they are able to provide you with enormous power and incredible sonic performance in an easy-to-use, ultra-portable package. Class-D amplification makes all the difference, offering the ultimate in energy efficiency and eliminating the need for heavy power supplies and massive heat sinks. This amazing technology makes it possible to design and build extremely powerful products that are significantly lighter in weight than their traditional counterparts, while using less energy and protecting the environment.

The new SmartSense technology puts the punch back into Class-D amplification, providing vastly improved full-range frequency response with more powerfully dynamic bass, and smoother high-frequency reproduction. The resulting output is no longer dependent on the actual load, but is rendered perfectly ruler flat via impedance compensation. A800's design also incorporates a significantly higher damping factor that yields better amplifier control over the loudspeaker for stronger audio reproduction, especially in the LF area.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can i connect this directly to headphone out of my mixer? or there's a better way to connection? thanks

A: Yes you connect it but you have to use the right cable .

Q: 2. Are the 1/4 inputs balanced or unbalanced?

A: You may want to down load the data sheet or manual for the 1502. I can't say for sure but I think they are balanced.

Q: 3. what will be the RMS wattage be with 6 ohm speakers, eg, cerwin vega xls 15 ?

A: Crown has not provided wattage ratings for 6 ohms, but they do list ratings for 4 and 8 ohms. We can use the specs listed for peak wattage to calculate RMS wattage at 4 and 8 ohms. 6 ohms is going to be right in the middle so you can get a better idea of how it would perform with your speaker. At 4 ohms, the XLS 2502 is rated at 775W per channel and 2400W bridged for peak power, which works out to approximately 550W per channel and 1700W bridged for RMS power at 4 ohms. At 8 ohms, the XLS 2502 is rated at 440W per channel and 1550W bridged for peak power, which works out to approximately 310W per channel and 1100W bridged for RMS power at 8 ohms.

Q: 4. I understand the term DriveCore Class D amplification platform but is there a difference, in the sound, between this and the one with the toroidal transformer?I have both of them and the second seems to have a better sound. Am i right?

A: Nelson, A Class D amp uses a chip instead of a transformer primarily as a means to reduce weight. However, in the last 10-15 years, Class D amps have made great strides and now boast less distortion, better frequency response, and more efficiency than the sort of Class A/B amps with transformers that you mentioned. This means that the XLS 1502 will deliver more accuracy and better overall sound than older counterparts.

Q: 5. How to get more me function

A: The HA 8000 features 8 independent headphone amplifiers. You are able to select one of two available stereo inputs to the unit. There is also a direct in available on each of the 8 amps which will take priority to that input when connected. You are only able to adjust overall level of the selected in (main 1, or main 2).

Q: 6. can I use a 2002 and 2502 both bridged without significant problems?

A: The amps can each operate safely in bridged mode as long as you are connecting them to speakers that are compatible with the power and impedance ratings.

Q: 7. How much rack space does this amp take up?

A: Actually it is a 2RU form factor. About 4 inches is correct. Each RU is about 1 7/8 inches.

Q: 8. do you have to have a special module for tel intercom?

A: thank you for your question. To connect tel intercom you would need to purchase the BH# BOTEL1S Bogen Communications TEL1S Telephone Input Module.

Q: 9. What cables do I need and where do I hook My Behringer 800 headphone amp to ?

A: You will need 1/4 cables. The back of the headphone amp is 1/4 TRS cable. This will be put in line to your interface or audio mixer. Most often will be 1/4 TRS on the interface or mixer. Be sure that you won't need 1/4 from headphone amp to XLR on interface or mixer.Think about how far the amp will be from said gear to order, just enough length in your cables.I bought 6 cables since my amp sits on top of interface.Hope this helpsDanny

Q: 10. I'm looking for something that will allow me to connect multiple speaker types to my mixer to monitor music productions from different speakers. I need to send audio out from the main mix on my mixer to powered studio monitors, and non powered PA speakers (the audio would go into the built in mixer that acts as the amp for the speakers and go to the speakers from there) as well as running to a stereo amp unit (connects with RCA type audio connectors, so would run 1/4 to RCA cable) that is running subwoofers? I have been warned that running powered sound into powered speakers can be bad, so that is why I am wondering if this would be a good solution for my usage. Thanks!

A: I have this unit and it works great for the intended purpose, but I don't think I would want to use it for what you have described. It probably could do the job, but it sounds as if you need a good mixer instead. All my mixers have had monitor outputs, main outputs, and an RCA line-level output for recording (often labelled tape ). It sounds as if all your needs could be met by a decent mixer with a full compliment of outputs.

[1x IEC] There isn't anything at this price point that is even comparable. So many case uses and pretty solid build quality.

[8.86 lb] I have used Behringer in the past! This amp is 3 channel with 3rd channel having an XLR input! It is solid state which is instant on but especially with the graphic equalizer, can approach the tube amp presence! I have used it as a great monitor amp and with 90 watts, it stands alone for most of my uses!

[Class-D] We are NOT sound system experts. We use these to allow folks in an observation room to hear what is happening on the other side of a two-way mirror (we are a research group). We connected the microphone and headsets, then powered up the HA8000 and in about 30 seconds had it up and running. LED's on each channel show signal levels and there is a master level also. LED's are also a very quick indicator that the power is on and volume is up! Sound is crisp and clear. Nice to have individual volume controls for each headset. Each channel can also choose separate inputs but we only have one input. We hang these on the STARTECH wall mount shelf for 19 rack mounted units and it fits perfectly. For this price we didn't expect this much quality and these many features. The headset connector is 1/4 inch, so if you use cheap headsets with 1/8 inch connectors you'll need an adapter (they cost about $2.00 each). My understanding is that real professional sound folks use 1/4 inch connectors!
