A: I haven't tried the indoor plate, but the screw knob gives you quite a bit of adjustment, i have used a few different manfrotto and area style plates without any trouble.

A: I'm not familiar with your Wimberly plate, but if it is Arca then it will fit in this clamp. Like Gerald F., I have found it to be a very solid and secure clamp. I use mine with a Canon 5DMk3 & Canon 100-400mm zoom on a tripod.
