Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. In case of an emergency will this device allow me to charge 2 Samsung Galaxy phones and use a fan over night for at least 2 to 3 nights?

A: The phones would not be an issue at all. Fans typically use high current motors that would drain batteries rather quickly.

Q: 2. how can i found out my manufacture date of my yeti 400?

A: I would recommend contacting the Manufacturer which is GOAL ZERO. Telephone Number to GOAL ZERO: (888) 794-6250E-Mail: support@a href= http://goalzero.com target= _blank goalzero.com/a

Q: 3. Can this power up a laserjet printer, monitor and a CPU? If so, for how long?

A: Most UPS manufacturers discourage connecting a laser printer to their equipment due to their excessive startup power requirements. The Yeti 400 would fall under the same restrictions for the same reason. The 400 watt rating is 400 watt hours so drawing 40 watts per hour it would provide 10 hours, 10 watts per hour would give you 40 hours etc. Many devices have a high startup requirement and taper off during their use... The average hourly rate has to be considered to come up with a meaningful serviceable duration. I use it to run LED lighting, charging iPhones, iPads and a Mac computer. Recharge it during the day with 4 Boulder 30 Solar Panels. This is an optimum usage because most of the usage is at night and the topping off of the charge is during the day. Find it usually fully recharged by the time we get up in the morning.

Q: 4. Will the high THD (above 6%) of a portable generator harm this power station if I use the generator to charge it? If I use this power station to charge my phone while it’s plugged into the generator is my phone still protected from high THD? Using this pass through feature is the station basically acting as an inverter to produce pure sine wave from the generator?

A: As per Goal Zero, using a portable generator to charge this Yeti should not damage the device. It should also not damage a phone when plugged into the Yeti while being charged by the generator. The pass through feature does make the station act like an inverter putting out a pure sine wave.

Q: 5. Hi is this safe to take on any plane flght? I plan on travel out of the US to Portugal and want to make sure it's safe to bring on a plane flight.

A: Yes, you can bring the GOAL ZERO Sherpa 100PD Power Bank onto a plane.

Q: 6. In the height of day. How long would the battery take to charge full with solar pannel?

A: Boulder 30 Solar Panel: 26-52 hours. So with the included Boulder 50 probably closer to 18 to 40 hours.

Q: 7. Will it run a home router?

A: Yes, the GOAL ZERO Yeti 400 Portable Power Station BH #GOGZ23000 is capable of powering a home router.

Q: 8. If we charge this unit with 3 150 watt solar panels will it run a 1500 watt thermostated space heater and two lamps?

A: No. The max output is only 400 watts. The input can vary from the amount of panels you link. This lessens the charging time. The output will only be up to 400watts

Q: 9. Can it power a CPAP?

A: For me yeti is very good, my Yeti.

Q: 10. I have a Yeti400 the battery says 100%. Output is 29. I can plug in the zero lanterns and my cell phone. However, when I plug in a very small fan or lamp it will not turn on. I have removed everything else I can’t get the wattage? Is it the battery?

[4x HPP Female] Goal Zero Boulder 100 Briefcase is well made, sturdy, easy to use, compact and not too heavy. Yes, Goal Zero is very proud of their products but they are worth the price. I do have competitive products, so I can actually compare realistically and the Goal Zero Boulder 100 Briefcase is my choice hands down. You can expect, in clear skies, property directed to the sun, to get about 80 Watts out of it, on average in summer. This is a perfect match for Goal Zero's Yeti series "Power Stations" I use this product daily.

[1x HPP+ Male] These lights are very thoughtfully designed. They are light weight and compact for travel. They are quite versatile in manners of use. I bought the colored versions which are both practical and whimsical for various occasions. I do not yet have any experience using them. I’m planning to take them on a trip in January. The location is proved to power outages, so these could come in very handy there. I can’t wait to try them out.

[20 A] Cant wait to try it out in the RV tho. I charged it up in the sun to test and so far so good. Love how it changes colors and how it can be squished down flat, since RV doesn't have much storage space.

[20 A] Sunlight is free...use it.
At some point the power will go out - and I need a light and a fan.

[20 A] The Goal Zero Nomad 20 is a great portable solar panel. I haven't given it a lot of use yet, but already it works as intended. I am able to charge my phone off it when the sky is overcast. In direct sunlight, it charges faster. I was also able to charge a usb battery pack, that doubles as a car jump starter, while out camping where there was no electricity. This was handy, considering I drained my car battery running a waffle maker.
Downsides? it doesn't come with a carrying strap, though it isn't hard to add one.
