Designed to observe and track near and deep-sky objects with a fast focal ratio for astrophotography/imaging, Celestron AstroMaster 130EQ-MD Telescope with Solar Filterfeatures a 650mm focal length and a spherical mirror.

The scope is outfitted with a 1.25 rack-and-pinion focuser and two eyepieces to get new users started: a 10mm that yields 65x power and a 20mm for a 32.5x magnification. The 20mm eyepiece integrates an erecting system to correct images horizontally and vertically to allow easy terrestrial use. An unmagnified red-dot finder is also included to help set-up, align and navigate easier.

Its manual equatorial mount features a variable-speed Right Ascension motor drive system capable of working in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres, with variable speed to accurately track fast-moving objects like the Moon and slower deep-sky objects like galaxies and nebulae. For alignment and easy navigation, dual slow-motion control cables are provided; and clearly visible indicators on the Right Ascension and Declination axes. An adjustable-height aluminum tripod rounds out the rig with a tray for accessories such as eyepieces, filters, and lights.

    Q: 1. DSLR Mount for Pentax ... what do i need ?

A: You would need these 2 parts: https://bhpho.to/2bcCNok Plus: https://bhpho.to/2c6yCPx

Q: 2. What will I need to make this work with my Canon 70D?

A: Yes.. only if you use it with a barlow lens. The telescope it self does't have enough back focus to allow prime focus astrophotography with a regular DSLR. However, the focuser is very poorly built, so the weight of the DSLR pushes the focuser tube inward so achieving a good focus is very difficult. The weight of DSLR also cause the moving focuser tube to tilt downward.

    Q: 3. Can I use with a6000?

A: Yes You will need (2) parts. Celestron SLR (35mm OR Digital) Camera Adapter for All Refractor and Reflector Telescopes which Accept 1.25" Eyepieces - Requires Camera-Specific T-Mount Adapter BH #CETA1.25 • MFR #93625 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/202135-REG/Celestron_93625_SLR_35mm_OR_Digital.html To put on the scope. Vello T-Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Lens Adapter BH #VELANEXT • MFR #LA-NEX-T https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/839140-REG/vello_la_nex_t_lens_mount_adapter.html To mount to your camera body. Those (2) parts will now screw together.

Q: 4. do you make shipping to mexico?

A: Yes we can ship this model to Mexico. If you add the item(s) to your cart, and change the Ship To Country to Mexico, then go through Check Out to type your Shipping Address in. It will display all the Shipping Options, Prices, as well as Delivery Estimates.

Q: 5. is there an accessory option for an MD for an 130EQ model not originally equipped with the MD?

A: The MD is compatible with the Manual Version. You can purchase it separately. It comes with everything you need to mount it to your Scope. Link: https://bhpho.to/3octWIL

Q: 6. Why is this variant, the one with the motor, cheaper than the model without?

A: The AstroMaster 130EQ-MD regularly is priced higher than the non-MD version. You may want to ask the dealer for pricing details. Sincerely, Garrett at Celestron

Q: 7. Can I mount my cell phone to this telescope for photos?

A: Yes, you can mount Celestron's Basic Smartphone Adapter or NexYZ 3-Axis Universal Smartphone Adapter to the AstroMaster 130EQ to take photos with most cell phones.

Q: 8. can I use my canon 60D camera with this?

A: Yes, with a T ring adapter and a Barlow. If the Barlow has a removable lens, it can be screwed directly to the ring adapter to reduce magnification. To take photos at prime focus, however, you would need to significantly modify the focuser. It is possible to saw the focuser housing shorter, but it will decrease the stability of the focuser since the tube and housing are plastic.

Q: 9. Is this useful for looking around my area? I'm on a small farm, can I look down a couple hundred yards away and read a license plate on a vehicle?

A: Yes. To adjust the laser sighting device I used a bush on top of a rock outcropping 2 miles across the valley. I was able to view individual leaves. Viewing numbers on license plates a few hundred yards would be easier.

Q: 10. Considering this Model For Basic Astrophotography with my d3500 Nikon. Would i only need this adapter and possibly something else ?. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/750881-REG/Vello_LA_NF_T_Nikon_F_Mount_To.html

A: The Vello T-Mount Lens to Nikon F-Mount Camera Lens Adapter BH #VELANFT • MFR #LA-NF-T will attach to your camera body. You still need something attached to the scope. Celestron SLR (35mm OR Digital) Camera Adapter for All Refractor and Reflector Telescopes which Accept 1.25" Eyepieces - Requires Camera-Specific T-Mount Adapter BH #CETA1.25 • MFR #93625 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/202135-REG/Celestron_93625_SLR_35mm_OR_Digital.html Those (2) pieces will now screw together.

[Stainless Steel] I am just a beginning astronomer, and this is just perfect. I use it on the back deck on clear nights, and it is excellent in the optics department.

[Dovetail] Thank you B&H for having this eye of god Celestron AstroMaster EQ 130 MD product in stock and priced competitively. My room needed something expesnive and luxurious in it such as this telescope and plus, the first telescope I had broke a long time ago, therefore I needed to update and upgrade my celestial space viewing and this was it for me. The MD means it's motorized. This version can also be controlled via the cellphone using the additional downloadable App, which is an added bonus for me. It is a bit heavy, but I got the muscles to lift it, so it's no big deal. It took time to setup and online videos helped me to set it up along the way. I also purchased the additional eye pieces/filter kit by Celestron. I ordered everything online and I received it all in perfect condition- no damage or issues with delivery. The secrets of the Moon look amazing with this telescope thanks to the extra magnified eye pieces. Plus, my ancient, hybrid, reptilian and human friends love coming over thanks to this. Good night time viewings!

[Stainless Steel] Overall, I am impressed with this scope. It is nearly 30lbs, and believe me the equatorial mount is not as hard as it seems to use. Instead of up-down left-right on an alt azimuth, it goes left-right but then the entire scope rotates. And don't be scared of a polar alignment I was terrified at first until I experimented with it. I put my iphone in accessory tray and point it the direction of north, and basically eyeball it. It's excellent for visual astronomy but long exposures would need to be very accurate polar alignments. Also, the finder scope is kinda trash. It doesn't work very well, unless you position your head at the back of the tube and align the cirles after sighting in the mount. It's tricky to do, but will work if you experiment with it. Overall, excellent scope, easy to assemble, and introduces huge optics for a very good price.
