Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the tripod included?

A: The tripod is not included with this jib. this Jib includes Proaim Alphabet 21' Jib/Crane Arm Assembly Hardware Carry Bag

Q: 2. Hello! How would I connect the Proaim to a KUPO Heavy Duty stand with a 29mm receiver?

A: B&H doesn't have an offering to mount to a 29mm receiver. The Proaim 10' Wave-2 Video Jib/Crane Arm is meant to be mounted to a 100mm ball base.

Q: 3. Is there a good bazooka that this jib can mount too? What accessories are needed?

A: There are many options for mounting Jibs. You could add a 100mm head to this Dolly solution from Proaim and mount the Scissor Jib https://bhpho.to/3docJMg

Q: 4. What is the difference between the proaim 10' wave 2 and the proaim 10' waqve 2 plus ?

A: The Proaim Wave-2 Plus comes with more accessories. Both are the same jib. The Plus will come with Proaim Portable Dolly, Proaim Lanc Zoom Controller, Proaim Sr. Pan-Tilt Head, and 12V Joystick Controller. It's the complete package.

Q: 5. I didn't receive a stand in the box. Is it supposed to be included?

A: The Proaim 18' Jib Arm is just the arm and its parts to operate. The Item does not come with support for the arm and will need to be purchased separately.

Q: 6. How do people like this jib? What's good? What's not so good?

A: The Proaim Powermatic Scissor 17' Jib is a great entry level jib. This tool is especially handy when you pair it with a 3-axis gimbal.

Q: 7. What accessories are needed to make this work with a DJI RS2 or RS3 gimbal? In particular which mount is needed to mount the gimbal without its battery grip, and then power via v-mount and control the gimbal by the jib operator? Also how should we power the camera? We have d-tap power cables, but how do we connect this best to the v-mount in the back of the jib? Or is there another v-mount plate in the front?

A: I recommend using the Tilta Remote Control Kit for DJI Gimbals. This will allow you to mount the gimbal to the jib and power it by v mount or gold mount batteries. It will also allow the operator to control the gimbal remotely. You are able to mount a V-mount or Gold mount plate to the Proaim Powermatic Scissor 17'. I recommend powering the camera and jib off that.

Q: 8. Can this mount to a mitchell tripod?

A: Yes, the Proaim 7' Wave-2 Video Jib/Crane Arm can work with Mitchell mounts. ProAim recommends the following adapter kit to attach the Jib to tripods with Mitchell mounting. Proaim Multi-Adapter Kit for Camera Rigging (Mitchell, Euro/Elemac, Bowl) BH #PRPMLAK01 - MFR #P-MLAK-01

Q: 9. This looks like a great item. I have a few questions. What tripods would you recommend. What other items do i need. How does one attach the camera to this. Does this unit have any control for the camera orientation (or should you always use it w/ a gimbal? Sorry for so many questions.

A: The Proaim 10' Wave-2 Video Jib/Crane Arm (B&H# PRPWV2PL) requires a plethora of accessories for typical use. Most often, an electronic control system such as a gimbal or motorized pan/tilt head would be used with a 75mm or 100mm bowl adapter to attach it to the arm. The camera would be mounted on the motorized head or gimbal. The type of control you'd use would depend on the electronic method you've selected for panning and tilting. A good medium duty tripod to use with many setups would be the Proaim CST-100 Heavy-Duty 100mm Two-Stage Tripod Stand (B&H# PRCST10001): https://bhpho.to/3eD6dlA We'd recommend calling, visiting us in the store, or even video chating with us to discuss the ins and outs of the use of this type of equipment: https://bhpho.to/3QqjJpO

Q: 10. Is this Jib Arm compatible with the CST-100 Tripod stand?

A: The Proaim 18' Jib Arm is only compatible with the Proaim P-JS jib stand. Proaim P-JS Heavy-Duty Jib Stand BH #PRPJS • MFR #P-JS

[Black] This slider is solid, it’s pretty heavy but that’s what you want in a slider so you don’t get any vibrations. It’s super smooth like butter. Highly recommend!

[Aluminum] I love this cart. This thing is well built and easy to set up. I did it by myself and had no problem getting everything configured and tightened up. It rolls easily and fits through doors. It's got tons of cheese plate screw holes al over the sides to mount whatever you want, and it's thick, strong cnc milled aluminum so it will last. The wheels are easy to put on and take off, plus the whole thing can be folded up with the wheels fitting inside and it turns into a big rectangle like the obelisk from 2001 A Space Odessa, but with hard wheels on one end and a a handle on the other to roll it around and put it into a van or truck for transport. The, main wheels are big rubber ones that seem to be able to run flat, but inflating them makes the cart roll very easily, and I've take this cart off road on bumpy ground with and Alexa Mini and tons of stuff on it, and it can do it. The accessory ecosystem is very robust as well. I bought two camera mounts with the horse shoe metal bracket and I have different bowl sizes to mount various tripod heads. It is awesome to be able to fully build two cameras on tripod heads and roll onto set with them. I have the tripod holder on one end that carries two tripods, so I can be fully mobile with a two cameras, and even a teleprompter rig. This cart can carry lights, apple boxes, lenses, tools, cables, batteries, a sound bag + mixer, a lap top and a some C-stands or light stands all at once.

[Black] Although is very heavy, is great for a set. Moves really smooth. Holds a lot of weight and is very steady and safe for your equipment

[Black] We just used it on our latest music video with a Canon C300 mark Ii rigged on it, and it handled perfectly. It's super flexible with the range, so if you are in a small room, it still works. The shots are so smooth because of it.

[Aluminum] This jib held a 27lb unit with roughly 80lbs of counterweight and had no issues for normal operation. Setup was a little confusion and operation as well, but after figuring out how this system works we loved it.

[Aluminum] I have this Wave 2 Jib Arm with Tripod, Dolly, Track, and both Track Wheels and the very large Caster Wheels and must say that this is an outstandingly great system. No regrets and no criticisms. Yes the mounting base requires a 100mm heavy duty tripod and suggest the Proaim one included in the package, (actually I have two of those tripods, and a Proaim Orion Geared Head and Tilting Base Plate) and am totally impressed with all of these products. Their equipment is beautifully designed and built.
I'm looking forward to getting some of their car mounts and more in the future. Great investments.

[Black] Great job. Quick and intuitive setup . Smooth movement and not very bouncy for a light jib. Used on a beauty commercial and still life shoot and very happy. Great value!
Only notes would be to change the weight and camera set screws to hand tighten fasteners, not thrilled about needing a tool to adjust but not a deal breaker.
