Audio professionals looking for the very best converters will appreciate the updated Apogee Electronics 16x16 SE Module, a sixteen-channel analog input and sixteen-channel analog output module for the Symphony I/O Mk II. The module occupies one of the two slots available on the chassis. Additionally, two-channel coaxial S/PDIF input and output is also provided. The A/D circuit has been refined to offer a streamlined circuit design, resulting in the most transparent signal path to the A/D stage possible.

The D/A section has been optimized with a more powerful and robust output driver that is capable of driving virtually any input without a decrease in performance, regardless of the load presented by the connected gear. The analog inputs and outputs are offered on DB-25 connectors and require optional breakout cables, available in various configurations to suit individual requirements.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If I plug audio into the RCA Inputs, Does audio come out of both the RCA's and XLR Connections at the same time?

A: Yes. All outputs are active simultaneously.

Q: 2. I have an Asus Gaming laptop w/HDMI port. Using Adobe Premiere Elements to capture live DV. Will this device allow me to capture video?

A: This unit currently supports MAC operating software only. However Windows support will be coming soon, but that will work with Premiere Pro, not Elements. Also you will need a PCI Express Port on your laptop to connect it, the HDMI Port on your laptop is for outputting a monitor signal. You will not be able to capture video through that HDMI Port. You may want to look in to something like the Startech USB 3.0 Video Capture Device. This would allow you to capture a wide variety of inputs, it has included recording/streaming software and is compatible with Windows computers.

Q: 3. Hello, I would like to inquire about overseas delivery. How much does it cost to ship it to South Korea?

A: Hello and thank you for your question! If you purchase on our website directly, whether the weight is 1 lbs or 100 lbs, the shipping costs are 120$ CAD. If you purchase on the B&H website, you will have to ask B&H. But you should check with our asian resellers first, they are closer to you. You can check our where to buy section here: https://www.shapewlb.com/en/wheretobuy.aspx We hope this helps and we thank you for your interest in our products. The SHAPE team

Q: 4. Will it work with usb-a ports using a usb-c to usb-a adapter?

A: Yes the Apogee Duet come with a USB-C to USB-C cable. You will not need to purchase an additional adapter.

Q: 5. Unless my math is terrible, buying this and the cheeseplate separately would be much cheaper than the CP300M2. Any particular reason why choose that over buying this and a cheeseplate separately?

A: You can certainly pair this V-Mount Plate with a 15mm Cheese Plate. Some people prefer the option of an all-in-one solution, but you can most certainly customize this for a rig as you please. B&H # SHCP33 is a great cheese plate from Shape. https://bhpho.to/2Umu5uJ

Q: 6. Does this convert the svhs, composite and component inputs to the hdmi output so I can use it to feed a mp4 recorder with a hdmi input?

A: Yes, the converted signal may be sent to a recorder via HDMI.

Q: 7. I read on the MOTU site that this has no support for Premiere CC. Has anyone tested this? will it work as a capture device?

A: Yes, according to recent tests performed with this device and Adobe Premiere Pro CC, there was no compliance between the two products.

Q: 8. Will this plate fit on Manfrotto heads?

A: The DJI RS gimbals have a Manfrotto compatible mount. Yes, The Bright Tangerine DJI Dovetail would be Manfrotto compatible.

Q: 9. please suggest some arca swiss plate that can be used directly with sachtler plate from RRS , Kirk , promediagear ?

A: An Arca-style baseplate could be used with a Sachtler tripod to adapt an Arca-plate to it. One such option is the ProMediaGear C40 Arca-Type Quick Release Clamp (40mm). https://bhpho.to/36SNa2X

Q: 10. How can you convert to use with arca swiss clamp?

A: You can purchase an adapter such as the Kessler Crane Kwik Release Receiver (BH #KEMG1001 MFR #MG1001) or SmallRig Quick Release Arca-Type Base and Plate (B&H # SM2144B MFR # 2144B)

[24-Bit] I upgraded my Apogee Element 24 to this new Symphony Desktop interface. The first thing I noticed was the quality of the headphone preamp.
I don't have a well treated room in my apartment. So mixing with headphone(Sennheiser HD650 is my main workhorse) is my usual practice. Element 24 has a solid HP. But the HP on Symphony Desktop gives me even better details and clearer bottom end on frequency spectrum. Compared to Symphony Desktop, the HP on Element was a bit muddy at the bottom end. The sound stage is also noticeably wider with symphony desktop.
For mic preamp, I haven't done any comparison yet. I'll update this post when I have time to do it.

[+24 dBu ] I recently upgraded to this unit from the UA Twin. Apogees flagship converters in this little unit are amazing. Perfect unit for vocals or tracking single instruments. Definitely recommend.

[AD/DA Converter] This little device is easy to use and has great clean sound. Plugged it into tone bridge to practice and was set to go!

Built on a metal case it’s study. Not too happy about the middle button as it’s rubbery and doesn’t provide good feedback but not a big deal.

Wish it had a USB-C instead of micro USB and could have used another amp output rather than just a headphone jack.

[24-Bit] just replaced an audient iD14 with this (I had an old Duet some years ago). Easier interface and less clunky-looking.

[2.05 lb] My workflow has changed a lot since I started using Antelope's interface and plugin. The sound is just amazing, and very easy to use. Definitely best acquisition for my studio.

[AD/DA Converter] I have had a Duet on my officedesk since the first one was released [X] years ago. Since I am constantly listening to music, reviewing mixes and making sure I have the cleanest, highest quality audio coming out of my Mac, my Duet is the only DAC I trust to ensure that I'm hearing music as it's intended to sound. And the Duet 3 is just the sleekest, coolest looking one to date. I love the big control knob, the ability to quick-mute without having to reach for my mouse, and how straightforward, intuitive and seamlessly it integrates with the Mac OS (for outputs and inputs alike). Apogee gear, and the Duet specifically, have just become such a trusted part of my setup - I don't ever want to listen to music out of my rig without it.

[24-Bit] As I am upgrading my production machines to apple silicon, I was in need of a new high channel count Dante interface for my virtual soundcheck machine. This installed and configured with zero issues, recording 128 channels at 96k, also using prodcom for speech to text for talkback mics on an M1 Mac mini. Flawless. Highly recommend. The fact that Dante Controller is also able to utilize this as a NIC is a huge plus over the now obsolete Dante accelerator card.

[24-Bit] At first glance you will just fall in love with how this interface looks.

with an all black design and a scratch resistant glass on top this is a thing of beauty. This whole design by apogee resembles apple's design Philosophy and it fits perfectly on your desk next to your mac . But the beauty of this device lies in the knob. Its clicky and extremely tactile delivering a luxurious-feel for dialing in monitor levels and mic pre gain. It also has meters on the front which shows audio level while playback and recording. Btw did i mention this knob glows.. Now enough of me drooling over the design lets talk about the ports. So the ports are available via the breakout cable with

2x Mic/line inputs

2x " Instrument inputs

2x " Balanced outputs

2 USB Type C ports and one 0 ohms headphone output which means you get the best performance with any headphone available today, regardless of headphone impedance
