Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this unit balance with the Nikon Z6 using the FTZ adapter and the F mount 24-70mm 2.8? I’ve seen a mixed bag

A: Yes

Q: 2. Will DJI release a cable that allows connection between the Nikon D series (particularly D5300) to the Ronin-S for start/stop recording function?

A: That camera is currently supported and you have the following features available to you: Start/stop recording video, Capture photo, Pull focus (with supported lenses), Adjust camera parameters.

Q: 3. Does any one know how much the unit weighs without a camera. I had the Crane 2 and it was just too heavy for too much time...

A: I'm sorry to say that we are still waiting for specs on the Ronin-S. We do not know how much this gimbal will weigh at this time. Please keep an eye on this page, as we get more information it will be updated here.

Q: 4. Will this work with Fujifilm XE3?

A: With gimbals, there are two compatibility questions: 1. Will the gimbal handle the weight of the camera. The answer is yes on the X-E3. 2. Will the camera connect electronically. The answer is the X-E3 is not on the DJI compatibility list. That means no remote control.

Q: 5. I have Sony Ar7III with 24105f4G. If I change zooming length, do I need to balance again for the new zooming length?

A: As others have said correctly, it is best to rebalance the Ronin-S whenever your center of gravity changes. If the change is not dramatic, the powerful motors of the Ronin-S will likely be able to handle the change, though it's important to avoid running an unbalanced setup as much as possible.

Q: 6. Does this have a screw mount on the bottom of the handle for connecting to tripod plate or monopod?

A: Yes. There's a 1/4 inch hole and an additional hole for mounting the Ronin to any number of devices

Q: 7. Saw there's a hot shoe mount on top, anyone think this will be able to hold a SmallHd focus monitor also?

A: It is not been announced by DJI what that shoe is for. What you are asking may very well work but we will just have to wait and see regarding this new release.

Q: 8. A few questions pertaining to the canon 80D:-With a standard 18-135 usm lens thats included with the canon 80D, will it be able to be balanced?-Will the Ronin S be able to connect to the Canon 80D and wirelessly start and stop video with the record button on the ronin s?-will half pressing the record button on the ronin S re-autofocus the Canon 80D?-will the focus wheel module built into the Ronin s be able to pull focus of the 18-135 USM lens connected to the 80D?

A: The 18-135mm is not on DJI's list of tested lenses. It may work, but they have not yet tested the lens on the Ronin-S. You will be able to start and stop recording through the Ronin-S, take photos and it will pull focus.

Q: 9. Canon 7D will be supported?

A: Yes, the Canon 7D is supported with the Ronin-S.

Q: 10. Will the ronon-s be able to handle digital bolex with a c-mount lens? The weight limit is fine, I was wondering if the design would accomodate digital bolex.

A: While a Digital Bolex may be below the 7.9 pound load capacity. However the Ronin-S is designed to work with cameras in the shape of a DSLR or Mirrorless Photo Camera. It may not be able to balance the unique design of the Digital Bolex, we do not recommend it. Instead you'd want to look at larger two handed options like the Letus35 Helix Jr with Standard Camera Plate.https://bhpho.to/2BS0Ztvhttps://bhpho.to/2x8B6mM

[Handle] This is the first of two Nanuk 940 cases that I purchased during the October promotion. I wanted a reliable and well constructed case with dividers. This case is being used to store the multiple bodies and film magazines for the Hasselblad 500 series cameras. I was able to place the two additional bodies and three additional film magazines plus extra lenses, many dark slides, a 2x converter and two viewfinder plus room for a little more.

Some things that I really like about the case are: it is deep enough to hold most of my Hasselblad lenses upright, the power claw latches, the convoluted foam does make a difference if there are items a little higher than the divider height. The base depth is very useful as it is not too deep for storing items and the size fits well and will mostly be used for storage as I have a backpack for site shooting.

I had called Nanuk prior to purchase and they informed me of the divider height for this case which really helped knowing that the divider height is 4.75 inches. They only publish the divider height on two cases that I am aware of.

The Nanuk cases were recommended by a friend who is a professional photographer (in Ottawa) as I was undecided which brand to go with. I made the correct choice and waiting for the second case to arrive to hold some of my 35mm SLR camera, F series, lenses and some accessories.

I had ordered this case the end of October and had a 2 - 4 week ETA and it arrived the same week ordered!

The salesman at B&H I spoke to was also very helpful in answering some questions about the Nanuk vs Pelican cases.

Thank you for having these cases on promotional pricing as it made it affordable to purchase the three cases that I did, two 940 in orange & yellow and the 920 in yellow, all with dividers. Maybe next year I'll purchase another 920 in orange to hold some of the Hasselblad accessories that I have.

[Yes] Such an amazing Product!! I am very impressed with how easy this gimbal is to set up and stabilize quickly. If you have previous experience with other gimbals, then you will have no problem with this one at all. Great product and I am more than happy with this purchase!

[Universal] Great case! Holds five lenses, 14-24 thru 150-600. Solid construction which has held up wonderfully during my travels.

[Latch] Ready to handle all of the gear associated with my Canon R5C rig. Holds everything in one convenient location, and then I use a smaller case for field work. Rock solid, and certainly as good as any Pelican I've ever owned. I would buy this again for my other cinematic rigs

[Latch] I have been having fun with this gimbal. It certainly takes some practice and getting used to, but works really well, and as expected.

[Latch] I bought a Ronin-S back when they first came out for personal use and we used it so much at my office I bought another one for our gear cage there.

The economics are great. The weight isn't too much for a full day of shooting. The battery lasts forever. It's the cheapest and best gimbal you can get in my opinion for professional use. Perfect for Sony Alpha cameras and Blackmagic Pocket cameras.

[Yellow] Great case!
It's bigger than I expected and holds a lot. I have a pelican case, but would consider going nanuk in the future as they seem to be just as great for a better value.

[Yes] The case is solid but the organizational inserts really elevates this case. I use it for my lenses and other smaller accessories and has been a great case for my work.

[Yes] This was the second Nanuk 940 case purchased during the October promotion.

This case which had to be shipped with the foam and the dividers due to misordering on B&H's part and caused a lot of grief to get it shipped in time for a birthday present. Thanks to some supervisors, the case was received in time.

This case is being used to house an additional Canon F series 35mm camera, motor drive for F-1, and the additional lenses that I don't always keep in my backpack. The case is the perfect depth and width for holding everything that has been put into it.

Don't know if either of the Nanuk 940 cases will leave my house but they do excellent protection and organization for my lenses and some other items. I've also purchased two 920 cases to hold accessories for both my Canon and Hasselblad equipment.

Personal visual take, these cases offer better protection where the lid and base meet.

If I needed a case offering protection for storage and transport, Nanuk is the only one I'd select.
