Noise dampening NoizeBarrier technology automatically reduces impulse noises with no clipping or shut-down of the situational awareness function. 360° sound localization detects the direction of potential threats with near certainty. The boom microphone can also be configured for left or right positioning depending on the preference of the user.

This headset allows the user to utilize up to two radios at once for dual-comm configurations. The hardwired cable features a TP-102 Nexus TRRS plug for immediate connections to most PTT systems.

Selectable signal separation allows dual-comm users to separate audio into left, right, or both ears. For a dual-downlead headset setup, users need to separately purchase a detachable cable, such as the V3-10907.

Please note that a PTT radio is not included with this headset.

The NoizeBarrier TAC sports an IP68 rating, protecting the headphones from a wide range of harsh environmental conditions and allowing for water resistance up to 1 meter / 3.2' for up to 31 minutes. As a tactically oriented headset, this system also fully meets MIL-STD-810G specifications as well. This headset is also TAA, BAA, and Berry Amendment compliant, and each headset is designed, manufactured, and engineered in the USA.

An optional rail-mount kit allows the user to easily convert the headset from over-the-head style to top or rear rail mount in the field without tools. This makes the headset compatible with major helmet systems including Ops-Core and Team Wendy.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use the Rode HS2 with a Sennheiser SK 100 G3 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter?

A: Yes. This mic will work with your Sennheiser.

Q: 2. Can the Rode Hs2 be used as the Rode Wireless Go?

A: Hello Wemerson. The Rode HS2 now has a locking nut that works for the RodeLink systems, however the Wireless Go doesn't have the locking connection. To use the HS2 with the Wireless Go, simply remove the locking nut and store it for later.

Q: 3. What audio pack would be needed to use this headset on Zoom calls or Skype?

A: The HS2 headset can be connected to any wireless microphone transmitter. The mic has a hardwired 3.5mm connector but can be used with a variety of adapters for compatibility with transmitters that require different types of connectors. The mic can also be used with a USB audio interface for direct connection to a computer. For a wired connection to your computer, you can use the Rode VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter (B&H # ROVXLRP) and Polsen XLR-USB-48 XLR to USB Audio Interface (B&H # POXLRUSB48) which is very easy to use. It's compatible with both Mac and Windows, does not require any drivers to use, and the USB cable is included with the interface. The same interface can be to connect the output from a wireless receiver. Please feel free to contact us by phone or through live chat for further assistance and we can help you to select the best options for your application.

Q: 4. Can I use this headset with shure ULXD and AD Series??, I need some Adapter or change the pinout of the connector??

A: We unfortunately do not have any adapters available that will convert the locking 3.5mm TRS male connector on the Rode HS2 Lightweight Headset Microphone to a TA4 4-pin mini XLR female connector for compatibility with Shure wireless transmitters. However, we do have other headsets that are compatible with Shure wireless transmitters such as the Shure WBH54T Beta 54 Headworn Vocal Microphone - Tan (B&H # SHWBH54T), the Shure DH5 DuraPlex Omnidirectional Headset Microphone - Tan (B&H # SHDH5TOMTQG), the Galaxy Audio HSM8 Dual-Ear Headset Mic with 4 Cables - Beige (B&H # GAHS8OBG4MX), the Point Source Audio Series8 Omnidirectional Waterproof Headset Microphone with TA4F Connector for Shure, Line 6, JTS, Trantec, Carvin Wireless Transmitters - Beige (B&H # POCO8WDXSHBE), or the MIPRO MU-53HNSX Dual-Ear Cardioid Headset Microphone for Wireless Transmitters - Beige (B&H # MIMU53HNSX).

Q: 5. Would the M3 MacBook Pro accept this as a microphone, or do I need to use an interface with it?

A: The RODE HS2 Lightweight Headset Microphone is wired with a TRS locking 1/8" (3.5mm) connector, primarily for use with a compatible wireless transmitter. In order to connect the mic to the MacBook Pro, you would need to use the RODE VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter (B&H # ROVXLRP) and connect the mic to an XLR input on a USB audio interface that can supply phantom power. The adapter will convert the phantom power to the proper amount of voltage to power the mic. If you want to use a microphone that can connect directly to the MacBook Pro without the need for any other hardware, I would recommend the RODE SmartLav+ Lavalier Condenser Microphone for Smartphones with TRRS Connections (B&H # ROSMARTLAVP) together with a headset mount such as the RODE LAVHS-MED Headset Mount for Lavalier Microphones - Medium (B&H # ROLAVHSMED).

A: No, the RODE HS2 Lightweight Headset Microphone is not compatible for use with the Sony UTX-B40 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter for the Sony UWP-D21 Lavalier Microphone System. The internal wiring on the HS2 is different than the wiring used for Sony transmitters. The HS2 is compatible for use with Sennheiser wireless transmitters, but not with Sony transmitters. As a compatible option, you can use the Sony ECM-322BMP Professional Headworn Microphone (B&H # SOECM322BMP), the Countryman Isomax Omnidirectional Headset Microphone for Sony Wireless Transmitters - 1/8" (3.5mm) Locking-Mini Connector, Beige - (B&H # COMHOW5LSN), the Countryman H6 Omnidirectional Headset with Detachable Cable and 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sony Wireless Transmitters - W7 Band, Beige (B&H # COH6OW7LSN), or the Voice Technologies VT DUPLEX Omni Headset Microphone with 3.5mm TRS Locking Connector for Sony Transmitters - S/M, Beige (B&H # VOVT0594) or L/XL, Beige (B&H # VOVT0588).

[Headband, Wired] I use these for construction and wow do they help. You can hear everything around you. You keep spatial awareness: left, right, front center rear below and above. These buds should be the standard for all hearing protection. Highly recommend.

[Up to 23 dB] I am not a professional shooter, but I an avid shooter, and am shooting approximately 1000 rounds of 9mm a year and probable twice that in 22 LR.

While I am not a professional shooter, and am a product engineer, and this is an exceptionally well designed, engineered, and manufactured product. I am very impressed, these are better put together than +$1,000 similar products. I am now an OTTO customer for life.

Of course B&H did everything perfectly, as they always do.

I don't normally write reviews, but wanted to because these are amazing!
