This 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution monitor has a maximum refresh rate of 180 Hz through the DisplayPort input, which works with the 1 ms (GtG) response time to deliver silky smooth graphics during fast action sequences. The HDMI input is limited to 144 Hz and video game consoles may have a 120 Hz maximum refresh rate.

Reduce screen tearing with AMD's FreeSync and NVIDIA G-SYNC Technology. Both enable the monitor to dynamically adjust its refresh rate to the frame rate being output by the graphics card, thereby greatly reducing screen tearing, stuttering, and other artifacts.

ASUS Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) technology enables a 1 ms (GtG) response time and provides users with sharp details and responsive movements. ELMB works alongside Adaptive-Sync technologies to deliver detailed visuals and high frame rates.

The 27" In-Plane Switching (IPS) panel is factory calibrated to deliver 16.7 million colors with high-dynamic range, covering 97% of the DCI-P3 and 133% of the sRGB spectrums for rich visuals featuring bright whites and deep blacks. Other features include 400 nits peak brightness in HDR mode and 1000:1 static contrast ratio.

The ROG Strix XG27ACS includes one HDMI 2.0 port and a DisplayPort 1.4 input. Connecting your compatible device to the USB-C port allows you to transfer video, data, and 7.5W of power using a single cable. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack available.

With AI-powered GamePlus technology, the monitor analyzes the scene on-screen visuals in real-time and adjusts the GamePlus crosshair to enhance targeting accuracy. Additionally, Dynamic Shadow Boost brightens dark areas without overexposing bright areas, providing a clear advantage in low-light environments.

The screen can be rotated 90° in either direction to view documents in portrait mode. Adjust the screen's height, tilt, and swivel to suit your comfort. Or use the 100 x 100mm VESA mounting holes to attach the monitor to a swivel arm, wall, or multi-monitor stand. The 178° horizontal vertical viewing angles allow you to see the screen clearly from almost any position.

[27"] Awesome IPS monitor. One of the best IPS I've seen over the last 10 years. This could be a symbol of peak IPS before OLED tech swamps the market.

PLUSSES:

- Great out of the box experience. It just works. sRGB mode looks pretty good and colors appear saturated. Bright enough too.

- 260hz works. No DSC needed. Frametimes are jittery at 260hz, but there's also a 250hz mode that works better.

- G-Sync works quite well up to 240hz with minimal tearing. Very good implementation. I can't say the same with other monitors. For 240hz monitors, OLED included, I often had to cap FPS at 220 or lower to make G-Sync stop tearing.

- Low input lag. Responsive feeling.

- Power supply is integrated into the back of the panel. No power brick.

- The matte coating is not too aggressive. I've seen a lot worse. This is tame.

- Professional looking design from the front.

MINUSES:

- IPS glow. Backlight bleed seems to be inescapable with IPS, even this panel. The glow starts at the corners then slowly creeps around. For now, the center of my panel has no glow.

- Bad contrast. Bad contrast seems to always be a thing with IPS.

- ELMB sync doesn't work well. I didn't care.

- HDR performance is mid at best.

OVERALL:

This thing slaps for a monitor priced under $400. It's a relief to find a banger IPS monitor that just works. Don't have to deal with the gimmicks of early-gen OLED monitors.

[2560 x 1440] Best 1440p monitor I have purchased over 25 and thus has the best color Accuracy out of the box , the controls are typical of Asus Rog monitors easy to use along with the display widget app you don't really need to used the physical buttons much after initial setup , Gsync / free sync works great , at 300hz the sky's the limit on FPS , shadow boost and OD work great , more then enough finely tuned modes though my default is racing , chrisp colors and dark blacks no ghosting no backlight issues , you can't go wrong with this monitor and other then a oled I don't think you can do better !

[Yes, HDR10] I am very pleased with this monitor!! It took me a bit to calibrate the settings that are perfect for me but once I settled in with the right settings, everything was perfect!

The viewing angles are excellent, the color on screen while gaming is very detailed, the brightness is *really* up there but its good for those that are into that, it feels sturdy a bit and everything else about it is just about right for me. The ergonomics of the monitor is also excellent and overall: It was the perfect upgrade for me when shopping for a top tier 1440p gaming monitor where I can still do other activities on it as well without breaking the bank. Trust me, you will NOT regret buying this one.
