This monitor supports DCI 4K HDMI footage and can even record ProRes RAW up to 8K with compatible cameras. The Ninja Ultra retains the same form factor as its predecessors to be compatible with most Atomos monitor accessories for easy integration with your preexisting equipment.

Built for the new Ninja Ultra, the AtomOS 11 operating system equips your monitor with new features along with an improved icon interface for more intuitive operation. Focus Peaking, Zoom, Atomos and ARRI False Color, EL Zone colorized exposure, Safe Areas, RecordAssit, PlayBackAssist, SegmentPro, and Cine Guides are among the many monitor assist functions available. The AtomHDR processing engine allows for real-time Log to PQ/HLG previewing.

The 5.2" IPS touchscreen of the Ninja Ultra offers a 1920 x 1080 resolution with 1000 cd/m² brightness for viewing in broad daylight. The 10-bit color processing, Rec.709 color gamut, and Calibrite ColorChecker Display Pro/Plus calibration support ensure color-accurate, high-quality monitoring of your footage.

The Ninja Ultra supports the use of select Sony, ARRI, JVC, RED, FUJIFILM, Nikon, Panasonic, and Canon log formats. Upload custom 3D LUTs to the monitor and output HDR conversion to Log, HLG, PQ, or Dolby Vision formats.

The Ninja Ultra's HDMI input and output ports support up to DCI 4K video at 60 fps in monitoring, recording, and playback modes. 3.5K RAW at 60 fps footage is supported with select cameras.

Over 55 different cameras support RAW recording over HDMI with the Ninja Ultra up to 8K at 30 fps.

The Ninja Ultra is compatible with the separately available Atomos CONNECT module to access cloud workflows like C2C, Atomos Edit, and Atomos RemoteView via Atomos Cloud Studio. The CONNECT module adds 12G-SDI connectivity, AirGlu wireless timecode and control, Wi-Fi 6, and GigE Ethernet to your monitor interface. This allows you to send video signals to live streaming platforms, via NDI, and to custom RTMP/S destinations. Functions unlocked that are specific to the Ultra include SDICine, enhanced metadata support, RAW recording via SDI, dual 4K60 ProRes RAW and 1080p60 H.265 dual recording codecs, and 4K C2C mode for higher quality uploads. You can also convert HDMI to SDI and SDI to HDMI video using the CONNECT module.

Use the AtomX CAST to transform your Ninja Ultra into a compact, fully featured production studio. This component enables advanced multi-input switching from four 1080p HDMI sources, the application of graphic overlays, and the ability to use a USB UVC webcam output for enhanced web conferencing and live streaming.

The Ninja Ultra is compatible with the Atomos Master Caddy II and Master Caddy III 2.5" hard drive units which support direct recording to the drives. You can also record onto compact AtomX SSDmini drives and CFAST II cards using a separately available adapter.

An L-series battery plate on the back of the Ninja Ultra can support NP-F L-series batteries outputting 5.8 to 7.2V. A USB-C port supports 30W PD power delivery with the included cable. Use the included dummy eliminator to power the monitor via DC power sources.

Multifunction control buttons work in tandem with the touchscreen interface for intuitive onboard control.

Auto HDMI camera trigger is supported by Canon and Sony cameras using Atomos Open Standard.

A: Atomos Ninja Ultra 5.2" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor can record ProRes RAW which you can convert to ProRes 444/4444.

Q: 3. Can this shoot 4K 120P from an A7SIII? The Ninja V+ could shoot that spec but only with select cameras in ProRes RAW.

[1x L-Series] Saw a review online which said it doesnt fit really good, but the price is good. So i thought for the first monitor cage i try this. And it fitted well on my Ninja and i am still happy with it. Even the cable clamp you can adjust very good, to not bend the connector. 5

[427 ppi] I highly recommend this cage for the Ninja V family of recorder monitors. The cable locking mechanism is strong and leaves me with no doubt that it will hold and not pull out. The NATO rails top and bottom are nice. I [urchased the hood and have used in the field, a must have accessory. I also looked at the Titla cage as most of my cage components are Tilta but I like the 8Sinn's form hugging design. 5

[1920 x 1080] Bought the Ninja Ultra, Connect and Recording and Accessory kit in order to get full functionality: monitor, ProRes back-up of camera files, RAW recording, and Connect 2 Cloud. Don’t think I’ll need the NDI feature, but if a client wants it, it’s only a $99 add-on for HD. My only complaint so far: no manual as of July 2024. The Ultra has been out for months, it’s inexcusable there’s no manual. That said, the menu is largely intuitive and most things I needed to know can be Googled. I did have to contact support with questions a couple times and they always responded quickly with good answers. I couldn’t figure out why the record button was grayed out, and was told you can’t record on the Ninja until you either pair it with Atomos Cloud Services or press “Unpair ACS” in the Ninja menu. Key instructions like that should come with the monitor. The monitor is accurate to my Sony FX6 LCD, with a slightly better color match than my Odyssey 7Q+. I was concerned there may be latency, especially over HDMI, but a test at 23.98P showed the Ninja only lags by one frame whether connected by SDI or HDMI. The Ninja does get really hot, but even with the fan on auto it hasn’t kicked on during recording. Tested the C2C connection to Frame.io, a short clip showed up in Frame.io within seconds, but this will depend on WiFi speed. Awesome feature. Overall very happy with the diverse functionality of the Ninja/Connect system, it’s an impressive Swiss army knife with different tools for different jobs. At this price it’s a good buy and a great 5” alternative to my 7” Odyssey for run-and-gun shoots, while on studio shoots it compliments the Odyssey with C2C and 4K recording, while the Odyssey delivers the key feature of being able to display multiple camera feeds side by side. 5

[HDMI] This is a really nice design, it not only secures HDMI cables really well but makes the longer standard SSDs seem more protected from knocks. I was concerned that with a lone cable it might not seem secure enough but that isnt a problem at all. I did notice my extra fat Amazon branded HDMI connector is right over the edge of fitting easily. (see included photo for sizes). I am going to file the connector down a bit on the sides to make it easier, sorry Amazon logo. With a normal HDMI cable connector, Amazon or otherwise, it is just the right size. I like how Shape put adjusting slots at the attachment points to let you center the lock perfectly to your particular cable width. Nice going Shape! 5

[HDR] Really solid, well made, anodized aluminum cage for Atomos Shinobi or Ninja V, at the best price. Nice polished finish with no tool marks or evidence of coarse workmanship. Comes with built in HDMI cable clamp, screws, AND a well made fold up sun hood. Plenty of threaded mounting holes, and all the proper openings cut to fit the Atomos ports. Screws in at the top and bottom of the Atomos, so it fits and holds very tight with zero play or movement. At half the price of the Nitze or Smallrig, this Andycine is a deal. I'm truly pleased with this product. 5

[1x L-Series] Really nice add on to the Ninja V. With a monitor this small, your HDMI cables are at risk of bumps and this really negates it. It is super easy to install. A second bonus is that it covers the overhang of a normal size SSD on your Ninja V, so you don't have to spend the extra money for one of the smaller compact SSDs. 5
